More Designs From Jason Wu for Target Revealed!

Posted by kgranero 12:56pm GMT

Style.com just released more photos from the Jason Wu for Target collection, which we've recently learned will be comprised of 53 clothing and accessory pieces (each under $60) that are being described as “gamine chic."

"The focus isn't just getting Jason Wu at a lower price point. "It was about creating an entirely new collection that I think my regular customers will enjoy, too," said the designer.

Check out the full article on Style.com, and tell me which items (demure day dresses, easy separates, chic cross-bodies - all of the above?) you're most looking forward to below.

Jason Wu Announced as Target's Next Guest Designer

Posted by kgranero 12:37pm GMT

Just days after pictures surfaced of Michelle Obama shopping at Target, Jason Wu, who caught his big break when the first lady wore his gown to the Inaugural Ball, is being announced as the next designer to collaborate on a collection for Target this winter.

Following the footsteps of Proenza Schouler, Thakoon and, most recently, Missoni (the collaboration responsible for crashing Target's website), Jason Wu's collection will include apparel, scarves and handbags (a first for Target's designer collabs) ranging from $20-$60, available at Target stores and target.com beginning February 5, 2012.

Hear Jason Wu talking about his collection for Target in the video below, and enter for a chance to win an autographed Jason Wu for Target sketch at harpersbazaar.com.

Trend to Try: Peplum Trims

Posted by kgranero 2:58pm GMT

From Lady Gaga (in Moschino) to Marissa Tomei (in Preen), peplum waists have been popping up (literally!) everywhere lately (including numerous collections debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2012).

Test drive the trend (for less) with the Peplum Knit Top, $17.80, forever21.com.

Will you try this trend?

Second Helpings: Michelle Obama Recycles Her Jason Wu Dress

Posted by babu 12:48pm GMT

Michelle Obama's periwinkle Jason Wu dress is so nice, she wore it twice!

The First Lady debuted the classy creation, accessorized with a flower brooch, in El Salvador (the last stop in the First Family's three-nation tour of Latin America) back in March.

She then gave the dress another go (this time pairing it with double-stranded pearls) for a service at the St John's Church across from the White House in Washington D.C. earlier this month.

If you recall, Mrs. Obama wore a gown created by Jason Wu to the Inauguration Ball, drawing attention to the designer and essentially jump-starting his career.

Dare to Wear: Camilla Belle

Posted by babu 5:52pm GMT

You know the disappointment you feel when you combine two of your favorite things (people, ingredients, what have you) only to end up with one big, ugly mess?

For the second time this week (the first instance involving Michelle Williams in Valentino at the Golden Globes), that's exactly how I feel.

While I usually LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Camilla Belle's flirty, feminine (and often demure) sense of style, I just can't get over how ridiculous she looked in this suit and chiffon "training bra" ensemble from, you guessed it, personal designer favorite Jason Wu (at the "From Prada to Nada" premiere in Los Angeles).

Would you dare to wear this look?

Style Steal: Kerry Washington's Leopard Jason Wu Dress

Posted by babu 2:00pm GMT

When I came across this tie-neck leopard Mango dress (right), it instantly took me back to the classy, chiffon Jason Wu dress (left) worn by Kerry Washington to "The Tillman Story" premiere in New York.

The perfect day-to-night piece, wear it with a cardigan to the office and then by itself (or with a leather jacket) for cocktails.

One Designer, Two Ways: Jason Wu

Posted by babu 10:44am GMT

Reese Witherspoon looked amazing at last night's Vital Voices 2010 Global Leadership Awards wearing a cobalt blue Jason Wu dress with peplum detailing at the waist.

If you recall, Leslie Mann rocked a strikingly similar style in yellow (also from the Spring 2010 collection) at the Annual Stars 2009 Benefit Gala back in October.

While there aren't many women who could go wrong in Jason Wu, I love how the embroidery detail really pops against the sunny backdrop of Leslie's pick.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Trend to Try: Natalie Portman's Rainbow Brights

Posted by babu 1:19am GMT

Maybe I won't actually mix four completely different shades to pull off my next party look, but seeing Natalie Portman, at a NYC screening of her film "Brothers," definitely makes me crave her candy-colored style.

Her recent Jason Wu dress and electric-hued accessories (including $80 Aldo Segura peeptoe heels) is proof that with simple styling, shockingly bright shades can look downright demure.

Posted by babu 3:12pm GMT

Take inspiration from the stars that showed their support and get a sneak peak at we will be wearing six months from now since everyone was in Spring 2010 looks!

Nicole Kidman covered up “the girls” (recall her red dress at the recent CMAs) in white tulle Lanvin, while model Jessica Stam stood tall in a vintage-inspired Yigal Azrouel jersey dress.

MTV star Alexa Chung could pass for Zooey Deschanel with her retro red lips and dainty Jason Wu Spring 2010 dress and sweet ballet flats.

Jessica Szohr from “Gossip Girl” tested out a look from Thakoon’s Spring 2010 collection, while singer Cassie rocked the red carpet in a spring look from Brian Reyes.
