This week was all about the classics. And the winners are...

Anne Hathaway in Antonio Berardi at the "Love & Other Drugs" premiere in Hollywood. Much like myself, Anne has an appreciation for classic styles with modern, and often unexpected, twists. This dress, which features a sexy, lace inset and futuristic folded panels along the waist is no exception.

Olivia Wilde in Michael Kors at the 2010 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards. Olivia relies not on color or design, but rather a combination of different textures (in this case a plunging cashmere top and, the star of the show, a sequined fishtail skirt) to make this look, which is as sensational as it is simplistic.

Carey Mulligan in Preen at the 2010 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards. When I first saw this look, my eyes were immediately drawn to Carey's bright blue, suede platforms, which added a playful touch to her otherwise refined paisley-beaded blouse and full skirt ensemble and popped against the red carpet.

Sienna Miller in Stella McCartney at the UNESCO Charity Gala in Germany. This blush-ccolored gown, which boasts a plunging lace top and a silky smooth skirt, is the epitome of glamour. The actress topped off her look with a diamond collar and drop earrings.

Julianne Moore in Alexander McQueen at the Bvlgari Express for Save The Children Party in Rome. After the stunt Julianne pulled at "The Kids Are Alright" premiere in London (see her look here), it was refreshing to see her redeem herself in this lace-inset sheath, which she topped off with Christian Louboutin sandals.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about bold statements. And the winners are...

Kate Bosworth in Derek Lam at the Esquire House Grand Opening in Los Angeles. Bohemian meets sophistication in Kate's dress (from the Spring 2011 collection), which serves as a melting pot of luxe textures, fabrics and colors, including bronze.

Dita von Teese in Moschino at the launch of "My Private Cointreau Coffret" liqour in London. Between its rich, plum shade, eccentric detailing and classic style, this ruched gown is quintessential Dita. I also love how the burlesque performer plays up her dress shade with matching lipcolor.�

Blake Lively in Lanvin at the Spike TV 2010 Scream Awards in Los Angeles. While this gown received a lot of mixed reviews, I absolutely love it. Not only does it serve as proof that Miss Lively doesn't have to show her cleavage to look downright sexy, it incorporates camel and grey (this season's hottest color combo) and a gorgeous, pleated skirt.

Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein at the 17th Annual ELLE Women in Hollywood Tribute in Beverly Hills. While other attendees stuck to dark or neutral palettes, Diane packed some punch into the red carpet with this watermelon wonder. She gets bonus points for keeping her accessories to a minimum and opting for nude sandals, as to not distract from the main attraction.

Sienna Miller in Nina Ricci at the Esquire House Grand Opening in Los Angeles. The sweetheart neckline, peplum waist and allover strips of sheer and lace offer a romantic take on the classic LBD. The actress topped off her look with grey pumps.

Dare to Wear: Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller has one of those bodies that would look good in almost about anything, which is why it's hard to believe she could do such an injustice to this Matthew Williamson gown.

Worn by the actress to the Matthew Williamson Book Launch Party, the smoky blue garment literally hangs on Sienna's body, making for a sloppy, shapeless look that had the potential to be sensational.

Trend to Try: Tweed Jackets

One of the items at the top of my fall shopping list is a tweed jacket.

Whether worn with menswear pants or shorts or your favorite skinny jeans � la Zoe Saldana, throwing on a tweed jacket is one of the easiest ways to dress up a casual look for day or evening.

Trend to Try: Studded Heels

Get em' while they're hot! Celebrities like Blake Lively, Katie Cassidy and Sienna Miller (believe me-the list goes on) are adding a little pep to their step with seriously studded stilettos, pumps and booties.

While the popular Christian Louboutin Pigalle Studs (worn by Blake (above) and Rihanna) will set you back about $1000 and the Rock and Republic Nika Pump (worn by Katie (above) and Rumer Willis) about $300, I found some affordable and equally fab versions at Macy's (Marc Fisher "Sal" pumps, $89) and Forever 21 (Studded Pumps, $29.80).

Pair them with tights and a wool trench and say so long to those frumpy wardrobe days of winters past.

Trend to Try: Shining Moments

Sequins aren’t only for beauty queens and awards shows. With the right styling, the look adds bit of glam rock to a basic look. Of course, Kate Moss was (again) ahead of the style pack in her shining shrug way back when (2007) and even recreated her bolero for her latest collection for Top Shop.

To get the effortless cool look seen on Kate, Sienna Miller and Garcelle Beauvais Nilon, avoid brightly colored sequins and skip shine anywhere else in the outfit. For the weekend, definitely try Beauvais’ jeans and sequins combo.
