Bad Celebrity Coat Pairings

Posted by babu 6:15pm GMT

When it comes to fashion, few things frustrate me more than when a celebrity seemingly spends hours putting together a red-carpet look, and then ruins it by throwing on an uncomplimentary (or just plain bad) cover-up. Recent offenders include Kelly Osbourne, Kate Bosworth and January Jones, all of whom successfully spoiled their evening gowns with jackets that proved ill-fitting, too casual or (in Kate's case) both (add to that too hairy and from a different season).

Perhaps they should take a cue from Olivia Palermo, who's mastered not only the art of coat pairing, but also layering.

Which rookie's coat pairing proved worst?

Dare to Wear: Kelly Osbourne

Posted by babu 2:56pm GMT

Kelly Osbourne
, who's known for critiquing other celeb styles on E!'s Fashion Police, reminded me of Helena Bonham Carter in a rather garish corset gown and ill-fitting plaid blazer getup while making rounds at the 10th Annual Tribeca Film Festival.

The "Material Girl" topped off her mix-and-match style with her signature pink pout and a power coif.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Best Dressed at the 2011 Grammy Awards

Posted by babu 5:31pm GMT

Metallic, sexy, feminine, flirty and bold. Each one of these Grammy dresses differs from the others. But the one thing they do have in common is landing a place on our Best-Dressed list!

Heidi Klum in Julien Macdonald: Metallic dresses were one of the major trends of the evening, but the supermodel stood out from the rest of the glittering girls in this curve-hugging sequined gown.

Jennifer Hudson in Versace: We’re the first to admit that J. Hud can do no wrong in our books, but even if we weren’t obsessed with her, we’d still love this asymmetrical gown with sparkling bodice. We’re secretly hoping a designer will jump on the knock-off bandwagon and create a version of this confection for those of us who can’t afford the real deal.

Nicole Kidman in Jean Paul Gaultier: Mrs.Urban proves that you don’t need to look flashy or show some serious skin to make a fashion statement at the Grammy Awards. This petal print straight-from-the runway gown had us at…howdy?

Kelly Osbourne in Tadashi Shoji: Kelly Osbourne on our Best-Dressed list? Yup! In a frilly lavender frock? Uh-huh! There’s something about this flirty and feminine design that spoke to us. We’re just as shocked about it as you are!

Keri Hilson in Basil Soda: Hilson looked electric in this strapless blue mini with silver detailing. It has a certain superhero quality to it, and yet it doesn’t look too costume-y.

Don't forget to check out more photos from the big evening, including our Worst-Dressed list and our Hair Hits and Misses gallery.

Who was your best dressed at this year's Grammys?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Gala

Posted by babu 12:11pm GMT

Celebs rose to the occasion at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

Some of the most glamorous styles included those of Fergie (who looked red hot in a Zac Posen gown and matching flame-cut platforms), Hilary Swank (who attained a head-to-toe glow in a champagne Atelier Versace gown with gold fencing throughout the midriff) and Kate Hudson (who shimmered in an asymmetrical Lanvin gown with zipper detailing along the one side and gold platforms).

Runners-up included Kelly Osbourne (who braved a multicolored, sequined leopard blouse and black mini skirt) and Janet Jackson (who was the epitome of classy in a black gown with buckle detailing along the waist and fur shawl).

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Posted by babu 3:32pm GMT

You can always count on the 2010 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party for fresh faces and fun frocks.

Some of my favorite looks this year included those of Emma Roberts (in a plunging, chiffon Catherine Malandrino gown), newbie Kendall Jenner (rocking a tuxedo-style blouse and mint-green tulip skirt paired with oxfords) and Kelly Osbourne (working a body-hugging LBD paired with a bright green clutch).

While she didn't exactly knock my socks off, Lauren Conrad looked polished to perfection as usual in a military-friendly silk blouse and trouser shorts.

As for Nikki Reed, I loved her gold Michael Kors dress, but I would've liked to see it cinched at the waist for more shape (and not paired with such matchy-matchy accessories).

Which starlet's playful style is your fave?

Red-Carpet Recap: Marchesa S/S 2011 Presentation

Posted by babu 6:28pm GMT

There certainly wasn't a shortage of shining stars at the Marchesa S/S 2011 Presentation yesterday.

Some of my favorite celeb looks included those of Jessica Szohr (in a champagne-colored sheath and cream Christian Louboutin peep-toes), Olivia Palermo (rocking a red dress with rosette detailing and her signature grey booties) and Kelly Osbourne (in a ruffled tulle dress with a black sash and bow around the waist).

Which star's girly style is most gorgeous?

Red-Carpet Recap: Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party

Posted by babu 6:09pm GMT

2010 Teen Choice Awards Red-Carpet Pictures

Fall trends were on full display at last night's Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party in West Hollywood.

Some of the more notable celebs looks included those of Drew Barrymore (in a metallic, mosaic-print dress and nude pumps), Kelly Osbourne (rocking a leopard-print sheath and leather bomber vest) and Lake Bell (in a zip-up vest, blouse and flouncy skirt ensemble).

While Amber Heard also looked great in a black, belted LBD and pumps, I'm afraid the same can't be said for Shenae Grimes, who proved a doozy in a tube top, cut-offs and an animal-print robe.

Dare to Wear: Kelly Osbourne

Posted by babu 1:00pm GMT

A purple-haired Kelly Osbourne sported this biker-glam ensemble to the Disco Glam Party hosted by A|X Armani Exchange and Elle magazine in Los Angeles.

She completed her look with a studded handbag and a pair of satin slippers.

Dare to Wear: Kelly Osbourne

Posted by babu 1:34pm GMT

Kelly Osbourne looked like a gardener-gone-biker at DJ Night hosted by Vanity Fair and Hudson Jeans (held at Palihouse Holloway in Los Angeles).

Always one to focus on the details, the singer didn't stop short of dying her hair a purple-gray shade (I mean, it clearly completes the look, right?!) OR pairing her bubblegum platforms with ankle socks.

If you look closely, you'll notice she was able to feed her bow obsession by showing off the tiny one on her bra. Clever!
