This week was all about taking risks. And the winners are...

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace at "The Tourist" premiere in New York. This creamy, angora gown proved a refreshing alternative to the actress's usually dark and drapey red-carpet wardrobe.

Leighton Meester in Christian Dior at the "Country Strong" premiere in Los Angeles. I came across the picture of Leighton in this flirty, floral dress and neon wedges and, just for a moment, I was able to escape from reality (that being that it's 34 degrees here in New York). Ahhh!

Katie Cassidy in Edition by Georges Chakra at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards. The "90210" actress has a penchant for classic styles with an old Hollywood glam vibe and this gown, which features beautiful lace paneling throughout, is no exception.

Jessica Alba in Valentino at the "Little Fockers" premiere in Los Angeles. Between its winter-white shade and allover fringe and bow detailing, this dress (from the designer's Fall 2010 Couture collection) has Palm Beach Christmas written all over it. The actress wraps up her frosty frock with gold Christian Louboutin sandals.

Olivia Wilde in Emilio Pucci at the "Tron: Legacy" premiere in Los Angeles. Beautiful, allover ombre gold sequins and a sharp cutout allowing some cleavage made this gladiator-glam gown.�

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Hollywood Style Awards

Young stars shone bright at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards, which took place last night in Las Vegas.

Some of my favorite styles included those of Camilla Belle (who kept it classy, as always, in a light gray sheath with pleating along the plunging neckline and skirt), Emily Blunt (who rocked an LBD with charisma, and a bevy of ribbon detailing along the neckline, from Roksanda Ilincic) and Katie Cassidy (who exuded head-to-toe elegance in a lace panel gown designed by Georges Chakra).

Which celeb's awards style is most stylish?

This Week's Fab Five

Due to a lag in post-holiday pictures, and a surplus of fabulous styles at the People's Choice Awards, I'm making the Awards this week's theme. And the winners are...

Carrie Underwood glowing in Christian Cota (Spring 2010 collection). I love the balance between the soft, sweetheart neckline and the harsh, graphic lace overlay. This was my favorite look of the night.

Taylor Swift posing in a cream-colored Jenny Packham mini. I like how Taylor toned down her "Glinda the Good Witch" approach to wardrobing here without losing herself completely. There are sparkles in there somehere!

Katie Cassidy working it in a black and white Talbot Runhof mini. Tinsel along the one shoulder and hemline give this dress a flirty vibe. It was my other favorite look of the night.

Jessica Alba working it in a barely-there Antonio Berardi bodice. At a closer glance, the intricate metallic mosaic print of this dress is really interesting. And the cut? Well it's just hot.

Olivia Wilde charming in a full-skirted gown by Monique Lhuillier. I was a little bit surprised to learn Olivia had chosen this dress, but impressed nonetheless. She looks so ravishingly retro that it's scary!

Trend to Try: Studded Heels

Get em' while they're hot! Celebrities like Blake Lively, Katie Cassidy and Sienna Miller (believe me-the list goes on) are adding a little pep to their step with seriously studded stilettos, pumps and booties.

While the popular Christian Louboutin Pigalle Studs (worn by Blake (above) and Rihanna) will set you back about $1000 and the Rock and Republic Nika Pump (worn by Katie (above) and Rumer Willis) about $300, I found some affordable and equally fab versions at Macy's (Marc Fisher "Sal" pumps, $89) and Forever 21 (Studded Pumps, $29.80).

Pair them with tights and a wool trench and say so long to those frumpy wardrobe days of winters past.

Style Showdown: Paris Hilton vs. Katie Cassidy

Paris Hilton got leggy in a teal, one-shouldered mini designed by Brian Lichtenberg at the 2009 Fox Reality Channel Really Awards this week, following the lead of "Melrose Place" actress Katie Cassidy, who wore the same sparkling sensation to her show's series premiere party in Los Angeles back in August.

While I wouldn't have paired this dress with a similarly sparkly clutch, I find this dress to look classier on Katie (maybe it's her softer hairstyle).
