While I'm not against the "horizontal stripes" rule when it comes to�separates (blouses, skirts, etc.),�this photo of Naomi Watts in a horizontally-striped Marc Jacobs dress at the 2011 Shakespeare�In the�Park Gala goes to show just how ill-flattering they can be.

This dress has A LOT going on (including multiple colors, varying stripe widths and�ruching), so it really takes a strong (and shapely) silhouette to compete. Unfortunately, tthe dress seems to swallow Naomi's athletic figure whole.

Dare to Wear: Naomi Watts

Apparently, celebrities aren't exempt from having "laundry days."

Naomi Watts, whose style I usually adore, haphazardly threw together an LBD, jacket, sandals and a patchwork handbag for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

She put about just as much effort into her beauty routine, which presumably consisted of her throwing her hair up in a ponytail and applying lipgloss on the way out the door.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about the hips. And the winners are...

Angelina Jolie smoking in a sequined Emporio Armani mini at the "Salt" premiere in Los Angeles. This draped LBD, paired with nude, peep-toe platforms, really draws attention to Angelina's slender frame.

Dita von Teese glowing in a yellow Elie Saab Couture gown at the 2010 Life Ball. Intricate jewel detailing along the lower abdomen added extra wow-factor to this gown, which the burlesque performer paired with a satin clutch in a slightly darker shade of yellow.

Naomi Watts rocking a strapless Gucci dress at the "Salt" premiere in Los Angeles. Allover, metallic bead-like detailing on this dress created an edgy, futuristic effect. Naomi accessorized with matching sandals and a silver cuff.

Amber Heard working a blush-colored Marchesa sheath at the "Salt" premiere in Los Angeles. While the soft lace overlay on this dress is ultra-sweet, its sexy, curve-hugging shape is anything but.

Eva Longoria in a Gustavo Cadile Fall 2010 dress and platform peep-toes at the Neil Lane Launch Party in Los Angeles. Neil Lane jewels served as the finishing touch to Eva's already glamorous look.

Red-Carpet Recap: "Salt" Premiere (Los Angeles)

After what feels like an eternity of seeing ads for "Salt" in every subway station in New York, it's finally here.

The Los Angeles premiere of "Salt," which opens this Friday, took place last night, where celebs showed off a variety of glitzy (and glamorous) garments.

Some of my favorite looks included those of personal favorite Amber Heard, looking as sexy as she did sweet in a blush-colored Marchesa sheath, the film's leading lady Angelina Jolie, rocking a sequined Emporio Armani mini, and Naomi Watts, sizzling in a metallic Gucci dress.

Also pictured are Kristin Cavallari (in an ill-flattering design by The Blondes) and Vail Bloom, looking classy in an asymmetrical, toga-style dress and adorable, bowed peep-toes.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about...pretty pleating and one sexy LBD. And the winners are...

Blake Lively sizzling in a lacy black Dolce & Gabbana mini at the "Sherlock Holmes" premiere in New York. WOW! Rachel McAdams should've been the star of the premiere, but with this plunging power-dress, stealing the spotlight was a breeze. This look, which is my fave among the group hands-down, is the best I've seen on Blake thus far. And I've got to find a style steal for those gold Christian Louboutin glitter pigalle heels. Fierce!

Rachel McAdams in Andrew Gn at the "Sherlock Holmes" World Premiere. While the actress didn't wow me in New York (see above), she still managed to achieve "fab five" status by wearing this asymmetrical, grey chiffon creation. The gown is rather ethereal, but the metallic embellishments along the bodice give it a slightly edgier feel.

Naomi Watts rocking a magenta Marchesa sheath at the "Nine" premiere in New York. Sculpted pleating along the shoulders and waistline took this dress (which reminds me a lot of the Victoria Beckham collection) to new heights. It was also refreshing to see Naomi choose such a vivid color. She, like friend Nicole Kidman, often falls prey to black and white.

Fergie glowing in a Marchesa Resort gown at the "Nine" premiere in New York. After months of harsh leather, chains and even spikes, the singer is having a feminine moment, and I couldn't be happier. The soft draping along the shoulder and skirt of this gown, completed with a sparkling waist and accessories, is a grecian goddess make.

Michelle Monaghan working it in a pleated, J. Mendel bubble dress at the SAG Awards Nominations Announcement. This dress's cantaloupe color really brings out Michelle's natural glow. Nude, ankle-strap heels, wrap up the actress's youthful look.
