Celeb NYE Style Roundup

Posted by kgranero 5:38pm GMT

Stars brought on the glitz in a variety of shimmery styles while hosting New Year's Eve bashes in New York and Los Angeles.

While Kourtney K. showed off her maternity curves in a plunging wrap dress, sis Kim got leggy in a white key-hole bodice.

Fergie looked like a walking disco ball in a metallic mosaic number, and Lady Gaga took the stage in a bodysuit with heavy embellishments throughout.

One Designer, Two Ways: Dolce & Gabbana

Posted by babu 7:50am GMT

Taiwanese model and actress Pace Wu had everyone seeing stars (from the hugely-popular Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 collection) at a recent commercial event in Shanghai, China.

If you recall, Fergie wore the same color combo at this year's Teen Choice Awards just a few weeks back.

While both ladies looked fierce in their celestial styles, I like how the the inverted bodice on Fergie's dress added more dimension to her overall look, so I'm giving this one to her.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Celebs Can't Get Enough of Dolce & Gabbana Stars

Posted by babu 3:12pm GMT

Who says celebs don't get star-struck?

In the three weeks following my last post featuring leading ladies wearing starry styles from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2011 collection, all four of Lucy Liu, Olivia Wilde, Jessica Alba and, most recently, Fergie (at the Teen Choice Awards) have opted for celestial prints from the collection.

In addition, Anne Hathaway was photographed wearing a piece from the collection for the cover of the Marie Claire UK September issue.

Dare to Wear: Fergie

Posted by babu 12:57pm GMT

Something tells me that Fergie wears the pants (make that steel-toe boots) in her marriage.

The singer struck a "Don't mess with me" pose in a lacy tank, hot short and tight ensemble at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Paris.

Shecompleted her complex look with a feathered jacket, pleather belt, high boots and a chained box-clutch.

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 6:52pm GMT

This week was all about sexy cutouts and girly glam. And the winners are...

Taylor Swift in Elie Saab at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. While not completely out of her element (shedid wear sequins after all), Taylor definitely exuded a high level of sophistication in this rose-colored, strapless gown.

Rihanna in Max Azria at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Rihanna is known for pulling out all the stops on the red carpet (andpractically everywhere else), but she looked refreshing (and sensational) in this simple, white blouse, blazer and pant ensemble, which she topped off with neutral pumps.

Katie Holmes in Holmes & Yang at the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards. Don't call it a comeback, but Katie, who's been known to take long hiatusesfrom the red carpet every now and again, has recently returned to the spotlight looking more beautiful than ever. This bowed and pleated magenta creation is just the icing on the cake.

Fergie in BCBG Max Azria at the 2011 FiFi Awards. Fergie took a break from the leather and cutouts to be a lady in this sparkle-clad, lemon-custard-colored gown, which she accented with a bold, blue clutch.

Selena Gomez in Dolce & Gabbana at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Selena, whose style is typically conservative and on the girly side, showed off her wild side in this sexy, cutout gown and strappy red stiletto heels.

Dare to Wear: Fergie

Posted by babu 3:18pm GMT

When going out, I try to avoid wearing platform heels at all costs in order to avoid the blisters that will inevitably surface by the end of the night.

Apparently, Fergie has a slightly higher tolerance for pain, because the singer appeared to being wearing not just platforms, but full-on horse hooves, in addition to a leather-paneled Herve Leger by Max Azria dress complete with neck brace at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

She topped off her "dominatrix diva" look with a matching leather clutch and a smoky eye.

Dare to Wear: Fergie

Posted by babu 5:50pm GMT

What I found to be most interesting about the laundry list of bad styles at this year's Met Gala is that it was, for the most part, made up of celebs who missed the cut for either the royal wedding or "Black Swan." Fergie would fall into the former of the two categories.

The singer made her big entrance wearing a heavily-embroidered Marchesa design that could have easily passed for a bridal gown circa 1985, completing her bridalesque (and trained) ensemble with a beaded crown.

Style Showdown: Tiffany Hines vs. Fergie

Posted by babu 2:40pm GMT

There are certain style steals (usually involving an extremely memorable, one-of-a-kind design) that can be spotted from a mile away. Thiswas one of them.

Actress and singer Tiffany Hines wasn't fooling anyone at last night's People's Choice Awards, where she wore the same frisky, feathered frock rocked by Fergie not even two months prior at the 2010 American Music Awards.

That said, I have to admit that Tiffany's overall, more youthful aesthetic (whitty bob, bright makeup and silver clutch) really helped tobring outthe playful nature of the dress, which was created by Falguni and Shane Peacock.

Who looked better in this feathered frock?

Quick-Change Artist: Fergie

Posted by babu 1:55pm GMT

Just when it looked like Fergie had settled on a fringe-happy creation from designers Falguni and Shane Peacock at the 2010 American Music Awards, the dutchess went and threw members of the media for a loop by changing into an equally leggy, but much more shapely and futuristic, bodice from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2010 collection.

Which of Fergie's quick looks was your favorite?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 American Music Awards

Posted by babu 3:50pm GMT

Celebs proved they aren't shy in a variety of sheer (and short) ensembles at the 2010 American Music Awards.

Some of the most notable looks included those of Fergie (who got leggy in a cobalt, feathered bodice from Falguni and Shane Peacock), Rihanna (who appeared "red-y" for anything in a sheer, crimson-colored Elie Saab gown with allover floral embroidering) and Heidi Klum (who looked beautiful in a lacy LBD, aka "Long" Black Dress, with a black and red sash around the waist).

Also among celebs were Miley Cyrus (who was wrapped to ravish in a Marchesa bandage dress) and Katy Perry (who bloomed in a blush-colored Badgley Mischka gown with allover floral appliques).
