Style Showdown: Ciara vs. Constance Jablonski

Posted by kgranero 7:38pm GMT

Just one week after model Constance Jablonski showed off her flawless figure in a sheer Emilio Pucci dress at the amfAR MILANO 2011 event in Milan, Ciara was spotted sporting the same sexy sheath during Paris Fashion Week.

While both ladies certainly have the bods (and confidence) to pull this daring dress off, Ciara's bodysuit offered a tad more coverage than Constance's bra and panty foundation, so I'm giving the "gift of grace" win to her.

Who looked sexier in Emilio Pucci?

Trend to Try: Lip Prints

Posted by babu 1:43pm GMT

Forget hearts! Celebs have been wearing their lips (and, in some cases, many of them) on their sleeves in a variety of smooch-bearing styles.

Some of my favorites thus far include Kristin Davis' Prada tea dress and Liv Tyler's DKNY waist-tie dress.

Get the effect with the Miss Sixty Dress with Lip Print, now $132.74, asos.com.

Worst Dressed at the 2011 Grammy Awards

Posted by babu 4:40pm GMT

There’s a fine line between looking over-the-top good and over-the-top bad. These talented women managed to cross the line from rocking to shockingly ugly, even for the Grammy Awards.

Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli. The teen sensation seems to be dressing how she thinks a rock star should dress. A 40-year-old rock star, that is.

Eva Longoria in Ashi Studio. Believe me, we are thrilled that Longoria isn’t wearing a mermaid-style strapless gown again. But the newly single star is evoking images of a cocktail waitress in her black and white getup.

Rihanna in Jean Paul Gaultier. This sheer paneled gown has us longing for the feather frock she wore to last year’s Grammys. The horizontal stripes don’t do her smoking body any justice.

Katy Perry in Giorgio Armani. Wings? Check. Sparkly bra? Check. Iridescent skirt? Check. Katy Perry’s red-carpet ensemble has all the makings of a Victoria’s Secret Angel Halloween costume.

Ciara in Emilio Pucci. Ciara took Grecian chic a bit far with her daring patterned dress and hard-core sandals. We applaud her for trying to stand out from the crowd, but sometimes less is more.

Who was your worst dressed at this year's Grammys?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:18pm GMT

This week was all about dramatic gowns. And the winners are...

Ciara
in a fringed Givenchy Couture number at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Equal parts feminine and fierce, this lace and fringe gown proved one of my favorites at the awards. I also think it fits Ciara's style personality perfectly.

Eva Mendes in a flowy Zac Posen gown at "The Other Guys" premiere in Moscow. The faint floral print and cream chiffon fabric of this dress really come together to create a soft, almost whimsical, feel.

Florence Welch in a gold Givenchy Couture gown at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Between the lace and allover gold beading, every inch of this gown reads high glamour. The geometric paneling along the waistline and zipper down the front serve as modern touches to the otherwise old fashioned design.

Malin Akerman
in a red ombre J. Mendel gown at "The Bang Bang Club" premiere in Toronto. The rich red shades and futuristic cut of this fishtail gown are as delightful as they are devilish. Malin pulls off the look with flying colors.

Selena Gomez
in a metallic Reem Acra gown at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Purple beading along the neckine adds more dimension to this futuristic, corseted creation.

Which star's dramatic style is most desirable?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 MTV Video Music Awards

Posted by babu 11:59am GMT

As usual, the red carpet at last night's MTV Video Music Awards proved a shock-value showcase.

Some of the more notable looks included those of Ciara (in a feather-trimmed Givenchy gown), Katy Perry (rocking a black and white illusionary inset dress from Marchesa), Selena Gomez (in a metallic Reem Acra bustier gown), Evan Rachel Wood (working a leopard-ombre Gucci Resort 2011 dress) and Florence Welch (gleaming in a gold-sequined Givenchy gown).

My top two looks had to be those of Ciara and Florence, making Givenchy my designer pick for the night.

Which star's shocking style is your fave?

Style Showdown: Ciara vs. Tinsley

Posted by babu 11:39am GMT

Over the weekend, Ciara attended La La Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony's wedding wearing an asymmetrical Versace mini and spotted platforms by the same designer.

Tinsley Mortimer
rocked the same playful number to the 2010 Operation Smile Annual Gala back in May.

While I like the dress on both ladies, I prefer Tinsley's choice of shoe, as her gladiator sandals don't compete with the dress' busy print like Ciara's do.

Who wore Versace better?

Trend to Try: Skinny Cargo Pants

Celebs like Jessica Alba, Miley Cyrus and Ciara are keeping it cool in cargo skinny pants.

Wear them with your favorite gladiator sandals for summer and then switch to boots come fall.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 BET Awards

Posted by babu 11:09am GMT

If there's one word to describe the celebs in attendance at last night's BET Awards, it's FIERCE.

Some of my favorite looks included those of Keri Hilson, who played it safe (for her, atleast) in a yellow cheetah-print mini, Fergie, who rocked a black and white panel dress, and Ashanti, who looked gorgeous in a plunging red gown with rosette detailing along the shoulders.

Not surprisingly, Ciara went for edgy in a black and gold Balmain dress, whereas Taraji P. Henson showed off her softer side in a pleated Mandalay sheath.

Which star's BET Awards style is your fave?

Red-Carpet Recap: "The Artist Is Present" Show Closing Celebration

Posted by babu 3:15pm GMT

Celebs took a trip to the dark side for "The Artist Is Present" Show Closing Celebration at the Museum of Modern Art yesterday.

My favorite (and I'm using that term lightly) looks included those of Liv Tyler, who reminded me of Batgirl, and Christina Ricci, who looked like she couldn't manage to get her top down over her chest.

Red-Carpet Recap: Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event

Posted by babu 12:49pm GMT

Stars sizzled at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Celebration last night. Some of my favorite styles included those of Jennifer Lopez (of course!), who wore a luxe Georges Chakra mini and Ciara (in a hot yellow Versace ticket with multiple prints).

While I also loved Nikki Reed's simple, but sexy, magenta sheath and Paris Hilton's corseted creation, I wasn't a fan (big surprise!) of Anna Kendrick's Emilio Pucci pick, which did nothing for her figure.

Which star's celebratory style is sexiest?
