Style Showdown: Alexandra Stan vs. Rihanna

Posted by kgranero 4:42pm GMT

Apparently, Rihanna isn't the only artist who's been (or should be) flagged.

Just a few weeks after Rihanna payed a tribute to the U.S. in a pair of all-American Topshop cutoffs while out and about in London, Romanian singer Alexandra Stan got cheeky in the same style at the 40 Principales Awards 2011 Awards in Madrid.

If I had to choose between these wild getups, I'd go with that worn by Alexandra, as it's slightly less busy.

Which star's all-American style is your fave?

Illusionary Garters: Trend or Foe?

Posted by kgranero 5:14pm GMT

Celebs like Rihanna and Una Healy have found a fuss-free alternative to garter belts in illusionary garter tights (and are apparently so keen on the discovery that they're sharing it with the world).

While I love that these garters (Rihanna's style available here) stay up, I can't help but think they should also stay in (the bedroom, that is).

What's your take on illusionary garters?

Dare to Wear: Rihanna

Posted by babu 12:59pm GMT

Rihanna looked like she was wearing a shag bathroom mat at the launch event for her new scent 'Reb'l Fleur' in London.

As if her feathered faux pas of a blouse didn't add enough body to her ensemble (which also consisted of matching mint green trousers and nude Louboutins), she topped off her look with a mega-volume 'do.

One Designer, Two Ways: Oscar de la Renta

Posted by babu 11:40am GMT

Author J.K. Rowling looked gorgeous in a gardenesque Oscar de la Renta gown recently at the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" premiere.

If you recall, Rihanna was the first to prove a budding beauty in a red and white version of the same floral gown while performing at the 2011 Brit Awards back in February.

While both ladies did a great job of choosing the perfect color scheme for their individual hair and skin types, I tend to prefer the sharp contrast of the red roses against the white backdrop as modeled by Rihanna. It just oozes romance!

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Dare to Wear: Rihanna

Posted by babu 3:55pm GMT

Rihanna shaked her (pirate's) booty in a a crop top (which fell just short of covering her bra), knickers, fishnets and booties during a recent performance on "The Today Show."

She finished off her "sunken treasure" style with pincurls and gold coins.

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 6:52pm GMT

This week was all about sexy cutouts and girly glam. And the winners are...

Taylor Swift in Elie Saab at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. While not completely out of her element (shedid wear sequins after all), Taylor definitely exuded a high level of sophistication in this rose-colored, strapless gown.

Rihanna in Max Azria at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Rihanna is known for pulling out all the stops on the red carpet (andpractically everywhere else), but she looked refreshing (and sensational) in this simple, white blouse, blazer and pant ensemble, which she topped off with neutral pumps.

Katie Holmes in Holmes & Yang at the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards. Don't call it a comeback, but Katie, who's been known to take long hiatusesfrom the red carpet every now and again, has recently returned to the spotlight looking more beautiful than ever. This bowed and pleated magenta creation is just the icing on the cake.

Fergie in BCBG Max Azria at the 2011 FiFi Awards. Fergie took a break from the leather and cutouts to be a lady in this sparkle-clad, lemon-custard-colored gown, which she accented with a bold, blue clutch.

Selena Gomez in Dolce & Gabbana at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Selena, whose style is typically conservative and on the girly side, showed off her wild side in this sexy, cutout gown and strappy red stiletto heels.
