Style Showdown: Miranda Kerr vs. Rachel Bilson

Posted by kgranero 12:26pm GMT

Just days after stopping hearts at the the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Viewing Party in Costa Mesa, California (see what she wore), model Miranda Kerr played coy in a full-skirted frock from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 collection at the Louis Vuitton Maison reception in Australia.

If you recall, Rachel Bilson wore the same "Mad Men" worthy dress to the "American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity" Met Gala in May of last year.

While Rachel was the first to don this dainty style, I prefer the contrast of Miranda's black belt as opposed to the gray (as well as Miranda's shoe and beauty preferences), so I'm giving this one to her.

Who looked lovelier in Louis Vuitton?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2011 CW Upfront Presentation

Posted by babu 6:28pm GMT

This year's CW Upfront Presentation yielded a parade of red (or green) carpet don'ts.

From Tyra Banks' busting blouse to Shenae Grimes' velvet poncho (with Jaime King's dated panty hose and AnnaLynne McCord's wrinkled maxi-skirt wedged in between), the only celeb with a look I didn't loathe was Rachel Bilson.

She kept it simple and summery in a white sheath and and nude platforms.

Which star's brave style was your fave?

Second Helpings: Rachel Bilson Reworks Her Cargo Jacket

Posted by babu 4:01pm GMT

Not only is Rachel Bilson stylish, she's resourceful!

The actress found two uses for her faux fur-trimmed cargo jacket, first wearing it casually with a blouse and jeans, then throwing it over a printed, chiffon dress, while out and about recently in Manhattan.

Get the look with the Style & Co. Zip Front Utility Jacket, now $21.99, macys.com.

Trend to Try: Orange Blazers

Posted by babu 1:15pm GMT

Orange (or as many savvy retailers are calling it "Papaya") has splashed onto the fashion scene, managing to touch everything from blazers and denim to handbags and footwear (the beauty market is right on cue with similarly citrusy lip color and nail polish shades).

Celebs like Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo are taking the chic approach to the colorful trend with a variety of tangerine and melon-hued blazers (find out where to get one here).

Will you try this trend?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 11:16am GMT

This week was all about the perfect party dress. And the winners are...

Jennifer Lopez in Haute Hippie at the Venus Goddess Razor Global Ambassador unveiling. As usual, J.Lo achieved a head-to-toe glow in this nude blouse and sequined wrap-skirt dup, which she topped off with jewels and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Rachel Bilson in Burberry Prorsum at the "Waiting for Forever" premiere. Leather trimming added a sexy touch to this otherwise girly, ruffled-chiffon dress, which the actress topped off with ankle-strap pumps.

Heidi Klum in Rachel Roy at Lucky's March Issue Celebration. Posh gets a playful makeover in this magenta-streaked sheath. The fearless fashionista pumped up the volume even more with strappy sandals and a set of cage rings.

Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier at the Children Awaiting Parents event. The always put-together "Big Love" actress looked like a piece of art in this color-splashed and tinsel-accented, illusionary-inset dress, which she brightened up with red peep-toes.

Kim Kardashian in an asymmetrical gold mini at the Kardashian Glam Pack of Silly Bandz Launch Party. Kim appeared to be having a Lady Gaga moment in this origami-style, foam dress and, while somewhat out of character, I think her overall look (which also also consisted of gold jewel detailing and nude platforms) worked.

Which star's look is party-perfect?

Style Showdown: Christine Adams vs. Rachel Bilson

Posted by babu 1:24pm GMT

If you think enough time has gone by for you to successfully steal someone's style without getting caught, review these former showdowns, and think again.

A little over a year after Rachel Bilson debuted her colorful, printed DVF Erosa silk dress at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 (which took place in Sept. '09), actress Christine Adams proved there's no such thing as an expiration date when it comes to style stealing by wearing the same dress to this week's 2011 Fox All-Star Party.

Because she was first (and because I don't like Christine's shoe pairing), I'm giving this one to Rachel.

Who wore DVF better?

One Designer, Two Ways: Chanel

Posted by babu 3:29pm GMT

Just a few months after Blake Lively looked beautifully bohemian in her Chanel Resort 2011 maxi dress at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture F/W 2011 back, Rachel Bilson gave the same colorful, swirl-like print some tough love with a leather jacket and gladiator sandals at the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011.

While each lady's look is reflective of her own personal style, I like how Blake's simplistic styling allowed the pretty print to breathe on its own, whereas Rachel's dress appeared to be on life (or rather accessory) support.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.
