Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

Posted by babu 4:31pm GMT

No stranger to a little style controversy, Mischa Barton recently stepped out in what looked like a conductor costume in Hollywood.

Her runaway style was made complete with a tee, jeans and booties.

Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

Timber!

Mischa Barton looked like a walking Christmas Tree in a black gown with gathered tulle cascading throughout at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival this past weekend.

A fringed neck "skirt" and red platforms completed the actress's festive (and frightening) style.

Mischa Barton's Buggy Blouse: Love It or Leave It?

Posted by babu 2:26pm GMT

Is Mischa Barton the new spokesperson for Creepy Crawlers?

The actress, who's received criticism over her "unique" sense of style in the past, was spotted in a beetle-print Matthew Williamson blouse at the No-Tell Motel Southern Comfort Room Launch at Mahiki London yesterday.

While I love the colorful nature of thebuggy blouse, there's a part of me that is eager to squash it.

What's your take on Mischa's insect-friendly fashion statement?

Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton, who's taken a lot of flack regarding her curious sense of style in the past, looked like a work of (children's) art in a colorful kimono accented with a flower, feather and zipper-clad hair piece, and neon makeup (pink eyebrows included) at "The Goldberg Sisters" Special Benefit Performance for Japan Relief in Los Angeles.

She completed her look with a bejeweled, construction-paper pendant that read "With Love MB." Should we excuse her latest looksince there was so much "heart" in it?

Red-Carpet Recap: Vivienne Westwood U.S. Flagship Store Grand Opening

Posted by babu 6:43pm GMT

Stars channeled their dark sides for the Vivienne Westwood U.S. Flagship Store Grand Opening.

Some of the more notable looks of the evening included those of guest of honor Christina Hendricks (who kept it somewhat casual in a corseted, off-the-shoulder top and cropped pants), Dita Von Teese (who stole the spotlight in a quintessentially Vivienne Westwood gown and feathered headpiece) and Malin Akerman (who worked it in a graphic Vivienne Westwood sheath and metallic peep-toes).

Mischa Barton (who looked surprisingly chic in a silver, toga-style tunic and sandals) and Kristin Davis (who kept it classic in a pool-blue, asymmetrical cocktail dress) were also on the scene.

Which star's store opening style is your fave?

Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

Much like in the case of Jessica Simpson, I don't think it's necessarily Mischa Barton's body, but rather her style that is cause for speculation.

The actress's latest fashion offense involved a short, red romper, Navajo-print blouse and western booties.

I guess one could say she's a jack of all trades (though not necessarily ones that should be mastered together).

Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton has been catching a lot of slack lately for her less than stellar wardrobe choices. In my opinion, her shapeless, seemingly vintage frock at the Replay Party was one of them.

I guess she figured that wearing a muumuu would at least get people off her back about her figure.

Celebrity Misfit: Claire Danes Stands Out at Gucci Pop-Up Store

Posted by babu 2:47pm GMT

Stars came out for the opening of the Gucci
pop-up store (the small boutique will live in NYC for only 2 weeks selling 20 styles of $500 sneakers, but few of the red-carpet Gucci bags and clothes that we really want – according to Racked).

But Claire Danes stood out from the other Gucci-clad celebs, Rachel Evan Wood, Mary J. Blige, Mischa Barton and dj Leigh Lezark, in an unusually resort-like shift dress.

But, alas, let us explain: Danes’ dress is actually from the Gucci 2010 Resort collection, so it is MEANT to be worn on the warm beaches of Ibiza, Spain during your annual winter get-away, DAH-ling (as IF any of us are rolling in that kind of cash these days).

And while Wood also went the bare legged and short dress route, her sequin dress is ideal for the upcoming holiday party season and was even shown on the Gucci Fall 2009 runway over toasty leggings.

What do you think of Claire Danes' summery dress for Fall?

Dare to Wear: Mischa Barton

I'm not really sure what look Mischa was going for at Style360 closing party in New York, but I think it's safe to say she missed
that mark. Maybe if she removed the patches, studs, and cheetah fur... (no, still wouldn't work). I'm filing this one in the "hot mess" folder.
