Fashion Formula: Diane Kruger Takes a Bow

Posted by babu 7:13pm GMT

Diane Kruger’s style sense is one I admire because it always looks so right when you see it, yet it is so individual that it’s hard to replicate on your own.

One of the keys to Kruger’s unconventional red-carpet style is her love of bows – from Chanel
to Lanvin — that she’s worn in a variety of ways (check out those shoes!) since 2005.

While the accent is unexpected, the bows in Kruger’s looks always complement her outfits and never distract from the style or come off comical.

What do you think of Diane Kruger's bow accents?

Stars Shine at CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event

Posted by babu 6:17pm GMT

It’s always sunny in California. And some of our fave celebs dressed for the sun and not the season to attend the 2009 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event, hosted by celebrity hair god Frédéric Fekkai and Vogue editor Lisa Love (who was once the L.A. boss to Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad.)

Eva Mendes is a modern-day Varga girl in a retro-inspired lilac polka-dot dress and peep-toe pumps.

Jordana Brewster is a breath of fresh spring air in a floral dress with top-to-bottom zipper for edge.

Diane Kruger and Camilla Belle both show off a blue-and-black theme, but do it in two different but equally chic ways. Kruger pairs Chanel-esque pumps with sailor shorts and jaunty bow, giving tux luxe an L.A. makeover, while Belle’s eclectic mix of a solid simple belt, gray pumps and a statement bracelet makes the look all her own.

I'm Obsessed With: Clashing Clutches

Posted by babu 11:57pm GMT

Who says you have to match your bag to your shoes, dress, or anything else?

When I saw Diane Kruger’s quirky combination of a pop art leopard Lanvin clutch (discussed in detail at the http://www.purseblog.com/clutches/lanvin-pop-leopard-print-clutch.html
" target="_ ">Purse Blog) and silvery dress at the Courage In Journalism Awards event last night, I recalled how much I loved this kind of mix-and-match styling.

Style icons actress Sienna Miller and "The City" reality star Olivia Palermo, both famous for breaking the rules, show how a mismatched bag expresses so much more personality than a perfectly coordinated clutch. Ahem, Teri Hatcher, you reading this?

What do you think of clashing clutches?

Diane Kruger Rocks the Combat

Posted by babu 11:20am GMT

The punk trend is all over the stores for fall and actress Diane Kruger showed off a slouchy-chic version at a photo call for her film with “Mr. Nobody” at the Venice Film Festival on September 11th. As is, the ensemble perfectly blends LA-cool with a rock-n-roll attitude; or, exchange the boots for peep-toe platforms for dinner or drinks out.
