Style Showdown: Keke Palmer vs. Taylor Swift

Posted by kgranero 5:53pm GMT

Keke Palmer professed her love of lamps? in a chandelier print Ted Baker dress at a recent event held at Planet Hollywood.

If you recall, Taylor Swift debuted the swing dress at her Wonderstruck fragrance launch back in October.

While both ladies pulled this literal print style off with flying colors, Taylor's black tight and shoe pairing made for a more streamlined look, so I'm giving this one to her.

Who looked lovelier in Ted Baker?

Get the Cover Look: Taylor Swift for Vogue February 2012

Posted by kgranero 3:12pm GMT

Taylor Swift proves an all-American beauty wearing a Patricia Underwood floppy hat and Rodarte sweater on the cover of Vogue's February 2012 issue, inside which the young country singer talks about attending fashion shows, growing up and schooling in rural Pennsylvania, and has a one-on-one with designer Alexander Wang:

'It's really nice when I get on shoots and everything fits,' says Swift.

'But I bet it also makes it difficult for you,' says Wang, 'because they're probably like, 'Oh, she's sample-size, and that means she can wear anything from the runway collection.' And you're like, 'I am not wearing that.' "They laugh."

Get Taylor's country-chic cover look with the Camel Felt Floppy, $50, at topshop.com and the Colorblock Sweater, $49.99, at LOFT.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2011 American Music Awards

Posted by kgranero 1:03pm GMT

This year's American Music Awards were characterized by liquid metallics and illusionary magic.

Some of my favorite looks included those of Heidi Klum (who proved a silver seductress in a laser-cut Giles sheath), Jennifer Lopez (who oozed romance in an illusionary-inset Zuhair Murad gown with floral embroidering throughout) and Taylor Swift (who sparkled in a quintessentially "Swift" sequined Reem Acra gown).

Selena Gomez (in a punging satin Giorgio Armani gown) and Jennifer Hudson (in a draped Jenny Packham mini dress) added more fuel to the red carpet fire.

Best-Dressed at the 2011 CMA Awards

Posted by kgranero 2:51pm GMT

As usual, there was no shortage of sparkle (or volume) at this year's Country Music Awards.

Some of my favorite looks of the night included those of Taylor Swift (who resembled a blushing bride in a tulle-covered J. Mendel gown), Carrie Underwood (who appeared statuesque in a gold Reem Acra gown) and Faith Hill (who looked like a character out of "Narnia" in a winter-white Chado Ralph gown).

Nicole Kidman (in Jean Paul Gaultier) and Kellie Pickler (in Pamella Roland) also proved members of the red-carpet sparkle society.

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 4:00pm GMT

This week was all about letting personalities shine. And the winners are...

Blake Lively
in Gucci Resort at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. Summer-meets-fall in this tangerine-hued, leather sheath, which the "Gossip Girl" actress accessorized with turquoise jewelry and leopard pumps.

Taylor Swift in Rafael Cennamo at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. The singing sensation pulled a "Marilyn Monroe" in this full-skirted cocktail dress with beautiful beading along the waistline. She completed her look with bowed peep-toes.

Diane Kruger
in Jason Wu Resort at the 10th Annual InStyle Summer Soiree. As usual, the actress pushed the envelope in this tuxedo short ensemble, which she lightened up with a colorful bag and shoe.

Kaley Cuoco in Rebecca Taylor at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. This multi-tiered and pleated dress looks like something from the "SATC2" set. Maybe that's because it looks similar to one of Carrie Bradshaw's Halston Heritage numbers. Either way, it oozes luxury vacation.

Jordana Brewster
in Oscar de la Renta at the 10th Annual InStyle Summer Soiree. Jordana struck the perfect balance between sexy and sweet in this pleated and ruched dress. While I love her retro shoe pairing, I wish she would have opted for a different colored clutch (too matchy-matchy).

Which star's unique style is your fave?

One Designer, Two Ways: Contrarian New York

Posted by babu 12:11pm GMT

Katie Holmes, who has had a serious glow about her lately, kept it short and sweet in a backless Contrarian New York LBD at the "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" premiere in Los Angeles.

If you recall, Taylor Swift wore a softer version of the full-skirted cocktail dress to Brooks & Dunn's The Last Rodeo in Los Vegas in April of last year.

While both ladies pulled the dress off with ease (and grace), I tend to prefer the black shade in this case, as it really drives home the play between sexy and sophisticated.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2011 Teen Choice Awards

Posted by babu 2:05pm GMT

Classy met sassy at this year's Teen Choice Awards, where styles ranged from cha-cha worthy minis to ballroom-bound gowns.

Fashion front-runners included multiple award winner Taylor Swift (who kept it classy in a Marilyn-esque Rafael Cennamo dress and bowed platforms), Kaley Cuoco (who romanced in a pleated and tiered Rebecca Taylor gown) and Ashley Greene (who showed off her bod in a mod black and white Givenchy sheath and strappy sandals).

Shay Mitchell (in a red blouse and sequined mini combo from DKNY) and Lucy Hale (in a black and blush cutout bodice with beautiful beading throughout) also proved strong contenders.

Who stole the spotlight at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards?
