One Designer, Two Ways: Marc Jacobs

Posted by kgranero 3:28pm GMT

Chinese actress and singer Fan Bingbing looked pretty in a pink (and petal-covered) Marc Jacobs dress while promoting her latest movie "My Way" in Seoul, South Korea.

If you recall, Elle Dakota wore a pastel turquoise version of the same dress (from the designer's Resort 2012 collection) at the 2011 Crystal + Lucy Awards in Beverly Hills back in June.

While I like how Fan took a leap with the red belt, I love Elle's dainty shoe choice, so this one's a draw for me.

Dare to Wear: Naomi Watts

Posted by babu 12:48pm GMT

While I'm not against the "horizontal stripes" rule when it comes toseparates (blouses, skirts, etc.),this photo of Naomi Watts in a horizontally-striped Marc Jacobs dress at the 2011 ShakespeareIn thePark Gala goes to show just how ill-flattering they can be.

This dress has A LOT going on (including multiple colors, varying stripe widths andruching), so it really takes a strong (and shapely) silhouette to compete. Unfortunately, tthe dress seems to swallow Naomi's athletic figure whole.

Style Showdown: Helena Bonham Carter vs. Freida Pinto

Posted by babu 2:52pm GMT

It turns out Helena Bonham Carter isn't the only celeb to have made a mark in this Marc Jacobs dress (worn to the 2011 SAG Awards).

Freida Pinto was first spotted in the black and white, floral applique dress at the 18th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival back in October.

Much like the dress du jour, this is a comparison between night and day and, with her breezy accessories and sandals, Freida's sunny style wins it for me.

Dare to Wear: Helena Bonham Carter

Posted by babu 1:27pm GMT

For a designer, there are both negative and positive sides to having Helena Bonham Carter choose a piece from your collection for a major awards show, the negative being that she'll absolutely butcher it and the positive being she'll attract loads of media attention.

The actress most recently worked her eerie angle on a black and white floral applique dress from Marc Jacobs, accessorizing her look with sunglasses and a Pearls of Wisdom clutch.

At least she wore matching shoes, which is more than could be said for her Golden Globes getup.

Kim Kardashian for Glamour February 2011

Posted by babu 3:40pm GMT

Did somebody order breakfast (make that bombshell) in bed?!

Kim Kardashian has landed yet another magazine cover and, while it doesn't reveal as much as, say, her former Playboy cover, there's no denying it oozes sex appeal.

The curvaceous reality TV star, who was photographed for Glamour's February 2011 issue on her 30th birthday, is pictured on the cover wearing Tom Ford pajamas over a lacy, La Pearla balconet bra.

Inside the mag, readers can find Kim posing in sultry lingerie and evening wear from designers like Marc Jacobs (below left), Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana (below right).

Get Kim's take on turning thirty, being back on the dating scene and more (plus see more photos from the shoot!) on Glamour.com.

Style Showdown: Kate Hudson vs. Leighton Meester

Posted by babu 3:08pm GMT

It was love at first sight when I first spotted Leighton Meester wearing this two-toned, flower applique dress from the Marc Jacobs Resort 2011 collection at the V Magazine New York Issue Celebration in September, which is why I was excited to see it chosen for the cover of Elle's Women In Hollywood issue.

While I loved seeing the full effect of the dress and accessories as modeled by Leighton, there's no denying Kate Hudson has attained an equal if not greater level of pastel perfection, so this one's a toss-up for me.

Fashion News: Marc Jacobs Tells Victoria Beckham What To Wear

Posted by babu 1:16pm GMT

It's hard to believe style icon Victoria Beckham, who has her own successful fashion line worn by mega-watt stars like Jennifer Lopez, would take fashion advice from anyone. But recently, the fashion front-runner admitted to "10" magazine that her friend and fellow designer Marc Jacobs asked her to swap her signature stilettos for boring flats.

In the past, Vickie vowed never to wear the dowdy footwear saying "unless they're on ballet dancer doing ballet, I just don't get it." But it seems Jacobs's fashion word is gold to Posh, who was spotted in the LA airport in a pair of pricey $500 Lanvin ballet slippers.

Which shoe style do you prefer to wear most?

Style Showdown: Chanel Iman vs. Anne Hathaway

Posted by babu 12:28pm GMT

Chanel Iman showed off her playful side at the Victoria's Secret Show After-Party in a tiered Marc Jacobs dress, the same one previously worn by Anne Hathaway to the 18th Annual Empire State Pride Agenda Fall Dinner in late October.

Maybe I've just seen Anne in too many sheaths, but I think this rainbow-accented frock is much more in tune with Chanel's youthful style.

Dare to Wear: Lady Gaga

Posted by babu 5:18pm GMT

Lady Gaga has flown over, and fallen face-first in the middle of, the cuckoo's nest again. The scary songstress showed up to the ACE Awards wearing what looks like lingerie from Marc Jacobs, topping off her look with a bleach-blonde afro and face net.

If you look closely, it really doesn't even look like her. Maybe she's covering up a little cosmetic surgery?
