Dare to Wear: Beyonce

Posted by babu 1:53pm GMT

One of the fears that comes with getting a new puppy is that one of your prized possessions (delicate dresses, shoes, hats-you name it) could be mere moments away from being ripped to shreds. Apparently, for Beyonce, shredded clothing is a non-issue.

The singer was spotted wearing this piecey, floral-print Preen dress while recently out and about in Paris and, while I'm a big fan of the cutout trend for spring, I can't help but think her dress (which she paired with a huge snakeskin satchel) came across as a bit sloppy (and half-eaten).

Dare to Wear: Jaimie Alexander

Posted by babu 12:49pm GMT

"Thor" actress Jaimie Alexander took the statement necklace trend to new lengths at her film's premiere in Sydney, to which she wore a plunging white Mirco Giovannini gown nearly hidden by a belly-grazing bib necklace.

What would her chiropractor say??!!

Dare to Wear: Kelis

Posted by babu 4:06pm GMT

Apparently, Kelis didn't think her multicolored, leopard-print Matthew Williamson for Impulse dress was busy enough, because the singer felt compelled to add more character to her look with a black long-sleeve top, hot pink tights (pom poms included) and a treasure chest's worth of gold jewelry.

While I love the dress by itself (it happens to be my favorite from the collection), I think it would've been better served with a classic pair of pumps.

Dare to Wear: Tinsley Mortimer

Posted by babu 12:28pm GMT

At first glance, Tinsley Mortimer (who I had the pleasure of seeing in person at a recent Dannijo preview in New York) looked like she was wrapped in a giant puzzle at the Eighth Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance.

A closer look would reveal a splashy, abstract print gown (from Christian Dior). While I have to hand it to the socialite for taking such a bold move, and actually like the print, there's just too much flare (and fabric) for me to get my head around.

Dare to Wear: Bai Ling

Posted by babu 3:49pm GMT

Actress (and notorious bad dresser) Bai Ling looked like a walking turntable at the "Decisions" premiere in Beverly Hills, where she created noise in an abstract-panel dress with giant disc-like appliques.

Dare to Wear: Solange Knowles

Posted by babu 2:33pm GMT

Solange Knowles looked like a blast from the past in a '70s-inspired sweater, trouser and hat ensemble at the ELLE's 2nd Annual Women In Music Event.

Her look might have come off as chic had she not forgotten to wear a shirt.

Dare to Wear: Kirsten Dunst vs. Anne Hathaway

Posted by babu 1:27pm GMT

Kirsten Dunst and Anne Hathaway both rocked inky (and rather quirky) styles this past weekend.

Kirsten's ensemble consisted of a Proenza Schouler tee and skirt ensemble, which she awkwardly paired with flower-applique sandals, whereas Anne got frisky in a fringed Gucci dress, gladiator heels and some serious specs.

Which star's weekend look proved more daring?

Dare to Wear: Nicki Minaj

Posted by babu 12:30pm GMT

Nicki Minaj wore a belted dress with rainbow-colored and cow-print panels at the launch of the Casio New TRYX digital camera at Best Buy Theater in New York.

She accessorized her look with multicolored leggings, sneakers, a four-finger cage ring and cotton-candy hair.

Dare to Wear: Pixie Lott

Posted by babu 12:00pm GMT

Pixie Lott
played cupid at Nickelodeon's 2011 Kids' Choice Awards, to which the singer and face of Lipsy UK wore a heart-print shift dress accessorized with what looked like apple cutout earrings.

While I'm not completely opposed to the sweeping heart-print trend (I just purchased a heart cutout skirt from H&M myself), I can't help but think the inverted print collar on this dress, as well as the plastic earring pairing, proved a bit too much.

Dare to Wear: Uma Thurman

Posted by babu 2:25pm GMT

Uma Thurman looked like a human Slinky in a crinkled, slate gray Lanvin blouse and charcoal gray skirt combo at the "Ceremony" screening last night in New York.

While her two-toned ensemble had the potential to be polished, I can't help but think the blouse's sloppy fit, and her metallic sandal pairing, came off as a tad sloppy.
