Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Tony Awards

Posted by babu 10:58am GMT

Bold colors were met with even bolder designs at the 64th Annual Tony Awards.

Some of my favorite looks included those of Scarlett Johansson, who rocked an edgy Elie Saab cutout gown, Catherine Zeta-Jones, in a Cinderella-blue Atelier Versace gown, and Lea Michele, who stood out in a bright yellow Zac Posen fishtail number.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 FiFi Awards

Posted by babu 1:14pm GMT

Kim Kardashian, Tinsley Mortimer and Leelee Sobieski were among stars to attend the 2010 FiFi Awards yesterday in New York.

My favorite look was that of Kim, who rocked a futuristic gown from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2010 collection. I also loved how Tinsley played up her flirty, tangerine dress with a peachy makeup palette. Leelee topped off her sexy LBD with a pair of black and purple Christian Louboutin Calypso heels.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Whitney Art Party

Posted by babu 5:36pm GMT

Starlets like Christina Ricci, Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Grace and Eva Amurri brought a youthful vibe to this year's Whitney Art Party, wearing a variety of playful minis and sheaths.

My favorite look was that of Emilie, who got flirty in a full-skirted, cobalt blue mini and peep-toe heels.

Red-Carpet Recap: Metropolitan Opera Premiere of "Armida"

Posted by babu 12:16pm GMT

The Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere Of "Armida" took place last night in New York. Some of my favorite looks included those of Maggie Gyllenhaal and Camilla Belle (both in Yves Saint Laurent) and Ginnifer Goodwin, who was polished to perfection in a sweetheart-cut bustier and harem pants. I just love how the actress added a pop of color with cobalt heels and a matching clutch.

While I was impartial to Jennifer Morrison's look, I was a tad thrown off by Chloe Sevigny's black jumper and glove combo (then again, this is Chloe we're talking about).

Renee Zellweger: Something Borrowed, Something Blue...

Posted by babu 8:49am GMT

In town as a judge for the Berlin Film Festival, Renee Zellweger brought sexy back in a formal gown usually reserved for the actresses actually IN the films she will be judging.

Zellweger, who almost always borrows Carolina Herrera's dresses to wear on the red carpet, will be in Germany on Valentine's Day this year and apart from Hottie-Mc-Hot-Stuff actor Bradley Cooper, with whom she is rumored to have purchased a $5 million love nest in LA recently.

Red-Carpet Recap: More Romantic "Valentine's Day" Dresses

Posted by babu 1:40pm GMT

Well, not all of the dress that were spotted on the stars (and celeb guests) of the new rom-com "Valentine's Day" were lovable.

Julia Roberts' lace Dior LBD is perfect for a quiet date night, while her niece and actress Emma Roberts' youthful Jenny Packham number is ideal for flirting at cocktail parties. And while I just adore the always glowing Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, her edgier Versace design is best left for the rock-and-rollers.

Jessica Alba was a miss in dark mussed hair, retro platforms and an unflattering A-line Proenza Schouler dress, but Demi Moore made up for it in a fitted Chanel hit. And Rebecca Gayheart, in a sumptuous silk jersey gown that shows off her pregnancy curves, is just as stunning.

Are you ready for "Valentine's Day" -- the movie? At the star-studded premiere of the celeb-packed new film, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel showed off their dress picks for the big night.

Garner glowed in a sexy Valentino strapless style that oozed sex appeal (the mommy to two still has it!), while Hathaway went even shorter with her sassy Marchesa mini. And Biel revealed a more over-the-top gown (in V-Day red) by red carpet dress master Oscar de la Renta.

Stars Get "Hip" at the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Posted by babu 11:02am GMT

Usually, women try to play down their hips. But it seems Hollywood has finally embraced feminine curves, and stars deliberately played them up at last night's 2010 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards with strategically placed brooches and gown details.

Bold shoulders were a surprise trend this year, but Marion Cotillard's Elie Saab couture gown design emphasized hips instead. Other stars, like Mariah Carey, "The Closer" star Kyra Sedgwick and "An Education" film actress Carey Mulligan used diamond pins to call attention to hips and whittled waists.

But it was Kate Hudson's white-hot bejeweled Pucci design with hip embellishment that burned up the red carpet and showed off her every curve.
