This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about shimmer. And the winners are...

Taylor Swift in a lavender Marchesa gown at the 2010 ACM Awards. The embroidered detailing along the illusionary inset chest and bodice of this gown added a romantic touch.

Jennifer Lopez
getting leggy in Georges Chakra at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Celebration. Gold ghingham detailing gave this dress a truly luxe feel.

Julianne Hough
glowing in a white Basil Soda gown at the 2010 ACM Awards. Metallic, shieldlike detailing along the bodice added more dimension to the otherwise simplistic dress.

Halle Berry
rocking a nude Gucci number at the 30th Anniversary Silver Rose Gala and Auction. Cutouts along the shoulder and midriff, along with a metallic neckline, were the saucy staples of this sheath.

Carrie Underwood shimmering in a champagne-colored Basil Soda dress at the 2010 ACM Awards. Precise pleating all over this dress, culminating at the one shoulder, proved perfection.

This week was all about a healthy glow. And the winners are...

Emmy Rossum sparkling in black and white mini at the 2010 AMNH Museum Dance in New York. I love the contrast between the sharp neckline and the airy skirt of this dress.

Jennifer Lopez
in a Monique Lhuillier bodice at "The Back-Up Plan" screening in Miami Beach. As if this animal print dress wasn't fierce enough, the actress accessorized with a pair of Lanvin ankle cuff pumps.

Zoe Saldana
rocking a belted Lanvin number at the "Death at The Funeral" remake premiere in Los Angeles. The soft, coral shade of this chiffon dress is sophisticated, yet sassy.

Camilla Belle
glowing in a ruffled Yves Saint Laurent gown at the Metropolitan Opera Gala Permiere of ‘Armida’ in New York. A sweetheart neckline adds definition to this flowy frock.

Hilary Duff
in an asymmetrical Vera Wang dress at Good Housekeeping's 125th Anniversary Party in New York. The intricate beading along the shoulder and waistline of this dress is simply exquisite.

This week was all about sophisticated charm. And the winners are...

Taraji P. Henson electrifying in a bright blue dress from the Victoria Beckham Collection at the "Date Night" premiere in New York. The origami-like folding along the neckline and skirt of this dress offers a fresh take on the old sheath standby.

Olivia Palermo
glowing in a Ports 1961 gown at the 7th Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance. Very rare is the occasion that I don't love what "The City" actress is wearing, and this is certainly no exception. Something about the strong neckline and oversized belt says she means business.

Malin Akerman rocking a Miu Miu sheath at the Gen Art Film Festival premiere of “Happythankyoumoreplease” in New York. The coral branch-like detailing throughout this dress really pops. The actress plays up the color even more with a matching clutch.

Melissa George mesmerizing in a steel gray gown at the 7th Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance. While the details on this dress are kept to a minimum, the plunging neckline and thigh-high slit ooze seduction. I also like the actress's emerald drop earring pairing.

Demi Moore
donning a magenta Marchesa number at “The Joneses" premiere in Los Angeles. Not only is Demi wearing a color other than black (shocker!), but she opted for silver pumps. Kudos!

Which star's red-carpet look is truly sensational?

This week was all about color. And the winners are...

Keke Palmer in a plunging ADAM mini at the Kids' Choice Awards. The round pops of color all over this dress remind me of little gumballs.

Emmy Rossum rocking a red Donna Karan number at The Darker Side of Green Climate Change Debate. Emmy added extra kick to her saucy, off-the-shoulder dress with feathered heels (from the same designer).

Selena Gomez
in a bright yellow Christian Cota dress at the Kids' Choice Awards. A gold belt and gladiator sandals gave this dress a grecian glam feel.

Dita von Teese ravishing in a red Elie Saab gown at the Crazy Horse Paris at MGM Grand. The unique neckline and draping on this gown are just gorgeous.

Victoria Justice
in a mint-green Catherine Malandrino dress at the Kids' Choice Awards. I love the ruching on this dress, as well as the star's edgy Alexander Wang zipper booties.

This week was all about the sexiest sheaths. And the winners are...

Jessica Alba sizzling in a Proenza Schouler shift dress at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival Program Celebration in West Hollywood. As if the colorful, spotty print of this dress weren't fun enough, Jessica heated things up with color-coordinated heels, makeup and jewelry.

Ginnifer Goodwin ravishing in a red Valentino sheath at the 24th Genesis Awards. I love how Ginnifer breathes new life into the (yawn!) black lace trend by choosing a bright shade of red (while this dress is from the pre-fall collection, I'd say it's also perfect for spring)

Miley Cyrus rocking an asymmetrical leather sheath at "The Last Song" premiere in Los Angeles. Ruffle detailing along the shoulder of this bodyhugger adds a flirty touch.

Kristen Bell glowing in a soft lilac Alberta Ferretti dress at the Geffen Fundraiser in Los Angeles. Kristen tops off her perfectly-polished look with a pair of ankle-strap heels, which have become a huge trend on the red carpet lately.

Carey Mulligan
charming in a tweed Chanel sheath at "The Greatest" premiere in Los Angeles. While this dress is no doubt sophisticated, Carey adds a youthful touch with a pair of black and gold heels with fan-like detailing along the sides and heel.

Which star's red-carpet sheath is sexiest?

This week was all about variety. And the winners are...

Dakota Fanning wearing Elie Saab at "The Runaways" premiere in New York. The intricate beading all over this nude dress is absolutely beautiful.

Eva Longoria
ravishing in a lipstick-red Ralph & Russo gown at "The Noble Gift" Gala. An open back adorned with three strands of rhinestones adds an extra touch of glam to this spicy sensation.

Kristen Stewart sparkling in Emilio Pucci at "The Runaways" premiere in New York. I love the combination of the sweetheart neckline and abstract design of this dress.

Jennifer Aniston
glowing in a nude gown from the Donna Karan Spring 2010 collection at "The Bounty Hunter" premiere in New York. This asymmetrical number manages to hug Jen's figure in all the right places.

Sarah Jessica Parker
rocking a star-studded Marchesa mini at the 2010 ShoWest event in Las Vegas. This dress, perhaps my favorite of all, manages to look poised and playful at the same time.

This week was all about the Oscars. And the winners are...

Amanda Seyfried
enchanting in Armani Prive. One of my favorites of the night, this structured gown is a Cinderella fairy tale come true.

Katy Perry
mesmerizing in Zuhair Murad. This modern mermaid make (from the Spring 2010 Couture collection) has an Old Hollywood glam appeal that suits Katy's voluminous 'do perfectly.

Cameron Diaz
glowing in Oscar de la Renta. As if this sparkling ball gown weren't luminous enough, its large flecks of gold manage to catch the light in every direction.

Rachel McAdams
looking colorful in Elie Saab. This breezy gown, covered with a floral, watercolor print, paints a picture of red-carpet perfection.

Sandra Bullock
shimmering in Marchesa. From lacy beginning to shimmery end, this gown reads like an old-fashioned romance novel.

This week was all about the bodice. And the winners are...

Camilla Belle
rocking a Marchesa number at an Oscar red carpet fashion cocktail party hosted by Audi. The off-the-shoulder neckline and allover feathers work together to create an innocent, yet seriously flirty, vibe.

Marion Cotillard glowing in Christian Dior at the 2010 Cesar Film Awards. Between the shimmery gold fabric, intricate embroidery and sheer overlay, this gown epitomizes luxury.

Renee Zellweger posing in a piece from the Vera Wang Fall 2010 collection at a Vera Wang store launch in Los Angeles. I like how the actress kept her accessories to a minimum and let the sculpted bodice of this dress do all the talking.

Mo'Nique charming in a Tadashi Shoji gown at the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards. The basket weaving along the bodice and neckline of this gown is absolutely breathtaking.

Keri Hilson
working it in a Christian Siriano creation at the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards. I love the sweetheart neckline and giant rosebud on this flamenco-style dress (saucy!).

This week was all about the perfect party dress. And the winners are...

Anna Paquinrocking a Marios Schwab mini at the12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. The digital explosion of a print on this dress is so in right now, and pairs great with those cage-style heels.

Saoirse RonaninBurberry at the 2010 BAFTA Awards. As I mentioned in my awards recap earlier this week, the "Atonement" actress looks absolutely adorable in this playful, strapless dress with allover ruching. The denim belt also adds a youthful touch.

Naomi Campbell wowing in an Alexander McQueen number at the Elle (UK) Style Awards. This snakeskin-print sensation (from the late designer's Spring 2010 collection) is as courageous as it is colorful.

Audrey Tautoupopping inLanvin at the 2010 BAFTA Awards.I love how, in a fashion world where everyone is trying to go tighter and tougher, this dress is so unapologetically girly. The French actress plays up its femininity with bright red lipstick and shoes.

Kristen Bell sparkling in Stella McCartney at the12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. While the gold glitter covering this dress is certainly eye-catching, it's the dress's plunging neckline, lined with sheer-nude fabric, that really sets it apart on the red carpet.

This week was all about high sheen. And the winners are...

Penlope Cruz, stunning in a geometric Versace gown at the 2010 Goya Awards. Proving the saying "You can't judge a book by its cover," this dress appears sophisticated on the front end, while two zippers down the back hint at a wilder side.

Leona Lewis
in a steel-gray William Tempest mini at the 2010 Brit Awards. Hot-pink pumps and an edgy cuff pack extra punch into this futuristic creation.

Camilla Belle, radiating in a magenta Marchesa gown at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. Gem-encrusted leaves along the bodice of this ethereal gown give it a garden-goddess feel.

Marion Cotillard, smoking in a satin and lace Christian Dior Couture bodice at the "Nine" premiere in Paris. The actress completed the sassy-sweet number (love the geometric, corset-like boning) with matching ankle-strap heels.

Carey Mulligan
, charming in a satin Nina Ricci gown at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards. While simple, this dress has an innocence about it that I can't help but admire. I also love the flowers along the hip and at the shoulder of this gown (just precious!).
