Quick-Change Artist: Rihanna in London

Posted by babu 1:37pm GMT

Last night in London, Rihanna performed songs from her new album at a secret venue for a concert that was streamed live to her fans via Nokia. And in http://www.mylifetime.com/all-the-looks/all-the-looks-insider-blog/quick... " target="_blank">typical Rihanna style, the star couldn’t resist a quick change of clothes to go from one party to the next on the same night after her show.

For the first part of the evening, Rihanna rocked a modern caged-shoulder design with combat boots, a pile of silver chain bracelets and fishnet tights.

Later that same night, the singer showed up at the after-party for the first Nokia party in a bright orange dress, a funky bohemian bag, her signature booties (this time in grey) and replaced all the bracelets with a gold watch and added a gold chain necklace.

One thing that didn’t change: her signature pose.

Quick-Change Artist: Rihanna

We know that Rihanna loves fashion, but did you know she loves clothes so much she did a quick change four times in a four hours?

Rihanna arrived at her NYC hotel on November 9 in casual street wear that included a comfy pair of rocker-worthy boots and moto jacket, but I guess the look wasn’t worthy of MTV since she change into a striped Alexander McQueen sweater just a few hours later before being interviewed by VJ Alexa Chung that same day.

Afterwards, the singer changed into a stunning Stéphane Rolland couture gown to accept her Glamour Women of the Year award, but before leaving the prestigious event, made one more change into a (perhaps more comfortable, yet equally stylish) Jasmine di Milo dress from the designer’s Spring 2010 line.

Dare to Wear: Rihanna

Posted by babu 3:00pm GMT

I can still remember making paper accordions on rainy days with my sister as a kid, which is why I can't help but think this gown looks like the efforts of an entire kindergarten class during a snowstorm.

Worn by Rihanna to the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, at least the allover pleating on this Stephane Rolland gown manages to cover the singer up where it counts.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Blushing Beauties at Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year Awards

Posted by babu 12:31pm GMT

I can’t help but gush over these ladies in blush. The colors, the dresses, the good cause that recognizes the accomplishments of so many amazing women!

Last night, Glamour magazine held their annual Women of The Year Awards and honored those who have made such a difference in so many lives. Among the honorees was Glamour’s current cover girl Rihanna who was presented with her award by Iman. Ah, the perfect segue to discuss THOSE dresses:

Rihanna
is in a frothy Stephane Rolland
couture gown and spoke about how she landed on such a sweet spectacle of a dress by saying she decided to wear the tightest dress she could find, natch.

While others would look like they are auditioning for “Fraggle Rock,” Iman
looks runway ready with her matching heels and Jason Wu feather dress.

Tyra Banks
looked ultra slim in a Rachel Roy
buff-colored shift dress and sleek hair to match the chic simplicity of the dress.

Kerri Washington was in a pale pink Fendi
number that fits with the blushing beauties theme, but the photo doesn’t do the shade justice. It also looks like the dress started to unravel a bit at the hem --the curse of wearing delicate chiffon with heels.

Also on hand for the event, Stella McCartney in one of her own designs, Catherine Zeta-Jones
in floor-sweeping navy lurex Gustavo Cadile
design, Katherine McPhee in bold blue BODYAMR dress and many more. Read about all the highlights at the Glamour website here.

Trend or Foe: Cheetah Booties

Posted by babu 1:25pm GMT

Sacha Baron Cohen: fashion muse? Ever since the actor made his debut at this year's MTV Movie Awards as Australian fashion reporter alter-ego Bruno in a pair of mid-calf cheetah booties, more and more celebs have been wearing more sophisticated, yet equally ambitious, versions.

Among those celebs who've been "spotted" are Jessica Szohr, Rihanna and, most recently, Khloe Kardashian, who rocked a pair of Christian Louboutin Bridget Lace Ankle Boots (with cheetah-print heels and stems), $1,795, at the Famous Cupcakes Beverly Hills Grand Opening.

I did a little legwork and found similar, and more affordable, styles at DSW, Bakers and Zappos.

What is your take on cheetah booties?

Dare to Wear: Rihanna

Posted by babu 12:00pm GMT

What amazes me about Rihanna is that no matter what she wears (bleached jeans, leopard booties, space uniform), she's always managed to make it more than work. That is, until now.

The usually dashing diva pushed the style envelope even further in a push-up bra, blazer and harem pants (both designed by Balmain) at the designer's runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Though I love her futuristic take on fashion, I can't help but wonder: did this look cross the thin line between flashy and trashy?!
