The 2009 CNN Heroes event, honoring those who've made extraordinary contributions to others, took place Saturday night. While black dresses and peep-toes ran rampant at the event, there were still a few surprises.
And the style highlights included...
Eva Mendes wearing a strapless, black Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress. Tinsel-like gold detailing along the corseted bodice and skirt of this whimsical dress give it an edgier feel.
AnnaLynne McCord sporting a sleeveless and belted LBD. While the ruching along the neckline adds a little dimension to this sheath, I still find it rather boring.
Carrie Underwood rocking a cobalt blue gown and sapphire necklace. The jewel detailing along the waist of this strapless number is simply exquisite. Carrie completed her look with a Daniel Swarovski "Famous" clutch.
Jenna Fischer wearing a one-shouldered, black and gold metallic number and Neil Lane jewels. If you closely, you'll notice little flecks of gold throughout the skirt of this dress.
Leona Lewis rocking an asymmetrical, corseted dress. This strapless creation reminds me a lot of a corseted Herve Leger number recently worn by the singer. While I don't think this is horrible, I don't think it does anything for Leona's figure.
