Sneak Peek: The Webster at Target

Posted by kgranero 1:38pm GMT

I attended a super tight-lipped Target preview yesterday to get some insight into the retailer's latest design partnership program, for which it worked with various shop owners of specialty stores and boutiques to co-create affordable (and, most importantly, accessible) collections for its guest.

Titled The Shops at Target, the first flight (so intriguing!) of the program will feature nearly 400 exclusive products from five different U.S. specialty stores: The Candy Store, Cos Bar, Polka Dog Bakery, Privet House and (the fashion component) The Webster.

Founded in 2008 by Laure Heriard Dubreuil and Milan Vukmirovic, The Webster is a fashion boutique specializing in "a highly curated mix of men's and women's ready-to-wear, luxury accessories and photography, as well as an entertainment space" in the heart of Miami Beach, Florida.

"The Webster at Target includes apparel and accessories for women, men, kids and baby inspired by the essence and sunshine of Miami, featuring flamingo and deco prints in shades of coral, navy and green."

While I wasn't permitted to snag photos at the preview, I personally fell for the collection's flirty, mixed-print flats and wedges and breezy cover-ups.

The Shops at Target will debut at all Target stores and target.com on May 6.

Red-Carpet Recap: 2012 Critics' Choice Awards

Posted by kgranero 11:58am GMT

Girly glam (and chiffon) was the name of the game at the 17th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards, which took place in Los Angeles yesterday evening.

My favorite looks included those of Michelle Williams (who looked classic in a black and white Chanel gown with sculpted shoulders), Charlize Theron (who showed off her flawless figure in a scalloped and faintly scaled Azzedine Alaia number that concluded with multiple rows of ruffles) and Diane Kruger (who achieved pastel perfection in a color-blocked Prada gown).

Runners-up included Elle Fanning (in a Woodstock-worthy floral applique Rodarte gown) and Emma Stone (in a multi-keyhole Jason Wu gown covered with what appeared to be little trees).

Who was your best-dressed at the Critics' Choice Awards?

Style Showdown: Ashley Greene vs. Kristen Bell

Posted by kgranero 5:34pm GMT

Ashley Greene (in custom DKNY) and Kristen Bell (in Valentino) were on the same wardrobe wavelength for the 2012 People's Choice Awards, to which both ladies wore leather and lace dresses.

While Ashley is usually stunning no matter what she wears, her LBD (which was a tad too tight in the bust area and lacked overall cohesiveness) and boring black pump pairing really failed her, leaving Kristen the winner in my eyes.

Which star's mixed-media dress is your fave?

Affordable Style Watch: Whitney Cummings' Sequin Asos Dress at the 2012 People's Choice Awards

Posted by kgranero 11:28am GMT

While other celebs were dripping in designers like Gucci and Marchesa at last night's People's Choice Awards, comedian Whitney Cummings took the down-to-earth approach to styling in a sequin green Asos sheath (which reminds me slightly of a certain dress in the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 collection, as modeled by Kris Jenner here).

Christina Aguilera for Marie Claire February 2012

Posted by kgranero 4:25pm GMT

While Christina Aguilera is sexily styled in a Marlies Dekkers bodysuit and Agent Provocateur belt on Marie Claire's February 2012 cover, she's shielded by an Emporio Armani blazer, leaving her piercing blue eyes to seduce on the newsstands.

Inside the issue, the 31-year-old singer and single mom talks about being under public scrutiny, the importance of family and her new love interest:

"I've been through my highs, I've been through my lows; I've been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me."

Check out more photos and excerpts from Christina's cover shoot on marieclaire.com.
