Dare to Wear: Naomi Campbell

Posted by babu 12:17pm GMT

Never one to pass up a statement-making style, Naomi Campbell braved a cutout Givenchy Couture gown for the Monaco Royal Wedding.

While no doubt on the frisky side, what tends to bother me most about this gown is the haphazard placement of the emeralds along the waist, as well as how they compete with the open bodice to be the central focus of the dress.

Dare to Wear: Evan Rachel Wood

Posted by babu 4:32pm GMT

Evan Rachel Wood continued her boyish style streak yesterday at the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 8 Premiere in New York, to which she wore a Dennis Hopper tee, starry Dolce & Gabbana pants and a leather bomber jacket.

She topped off her rocker look with an Elvis 'do and a fuchsia kisser.

Dare to Wear: Nicola Roberts

Posted by babu 2:37pm GMT

Singer Nicola Roberts looked like she was wearing a family heirloom (quilt, that is) in a long-sleeve House of Holland gown with patchwork detailing throughout at Cheryl Cole's birthday party.

Dare to Wear: Yasmin le Bon

Posted by babu 11:21am GMT

Few are the days when I feature models in DTW because, as the catwalks confirm, they typically look good in everything.

Yasmin le Bon proved an exception to the rule in an unsupportive (and ill-flattering) silk, green maxi dress with a keyhole around her belly button at the recent Burberry Serpentine Summer Party in London.

To make matters worse, she topped off what was meant to be a breezy style with a heavy, fur shawl (I'm also less than impressed by her choice of shoe).

Dare to Wear: Paloma Faith

Posted by babu 12:29pm GMT

While there are times when the Lady Gagas and Bai Lings of the world give Paloma Faith a run for her money, she still reigns as DTW Queen.

Much thanks to her extensive (and rather intrusive) hat collection, the British songwriter and actress always manages to stand out in a crowd.

Her latest offense took place at the Beyonce 4D with Belvedere event in London, where she gave off a "naughty Nutcracker" vibe in metallic Louis Vuitton tap shorts, an equally sparkly bouse and a feathered headpiece.

Dare to Wear: Nicki Minaj

Posted by babu 3:00pm GMT

Looks like SOMEONE doesn't watch the weather channel.

Nicki Minaj (who I'm going to see perform with Britney Spears next month) looked hot (and not in the way she may have hoped) in a knit dress, tights and suede booties at the 2011 BET Awards in California.

She accessorized her fall-worthy fashion statement with bangles and her signature pink pout.

Dare to Wear: Fergie

Posted by babu 12:57pm GMT

Something tells me that Fergie wears the pants (make that steel-toe boots) in her marriage.

The singer struck a "Don't mess with me" pose in a lacy tank, hot short and tight ensemble at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Paris.

Shecompleted her complex look with a feathered jacket, pleather belt, high boots and a chained box-clutch.

Dare to Wear: Naomi Watts

Posted by babu 12:48pm GMT

While I'm not against the "horizontal stripes" rule when it comes toseparates (blouses, skirts, etc.),this photo of Naomi Watts in a horizontally-striped Marc Jacobs dress at the 2011 ShakespeareIn thePark Gala goes to show just how ill-flattering they can be.

This dress has A LOT going on (including multiple colors, varying stripe widths andruching), so it really takes a strong (and shapely) silhouette to compete. Unfortunately, tthe dress seems to swallow Naomi's athletic figure whole.

Dare to Wear: Florence Welch

Posted by babu 3:34pm GMT

Florence Welch played peek-a-boo with onlookers in what looked like a vintage tablecloth (designed by Anna Sui) paired with an eye-shadowing fedora.

The indie pop singer completed her eclectic ensemble with Mary Janes and a Chanel chain bag.

Dare to Wear: Lady Gaga

Posted by babu 5:59pm GMT

What would the 22nd Annual MuchMusic Video Awards be without the queen of MuchMuch?

Lady Gaga showed off a wavy, gray-to-green-ombre 'do at the awards this past weekend in Toronto.

The rest of her colorful ensemble consisted of a bright blue blazer, printed leggings and her signature platform boots (complete with allover embellishments).
