Style Showdown: Jennifer vs. Serena

Posted by babu 4:51pm GMT

Hulk Hogan's current girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel wore a leopard Dolce & Gabbana sheath to the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff, just weeks after tennis pro Serena Williams was spotted in the dress at the Pre-ESPYs Party.

While both ladies kept their accessories to a minimum, Serena's sexy stance had "woman on the prowl" written all over it, so I'm giving this one to her.

Who looked lovelier in leopard?

July 19: a sequined LBD from Emporio Armani at the "Salt" premiere in Los Angeles
July 22: a fitted leather Versace jacket and black pencil skirt at the "Salt" panel at Comic Con
July 25: a cream blouse and pencil skirt ensemble from Dolce & Gabbana during a photocall in Moscow
July 25: a fire engine red Atelier Versace gown at the "Salt" premiere in Moscow

Style Steal: Rihanna's Leopard D &G Dress

Posted by babu 2:28pm GMT

Rihanna was recently spotted leaving her hotel in Dublin wearing this sexy, two-toned Dolce and Gabbana sheath.

I found a similar (and much more cost-efficient) version from the Pixie Lott for Lipsy London collection.

Upgrade: Anna Paquin Works It in Leopard

Posted by babu 2:44pm GMT

If you were to have seen Anna Paquin sparkling in her leopard-print Dolce & Gabbana sheath at a recent cocktail party hosted by Valentino, you would've hardly recognized her as the same girl who rocked cutoffs and Converses at a Make-A-Wish event back in March.

Maybe it had something to do with her decision to cover up her bra instead of her eyes.

Is this star's recent look an "upgrade" or a "downgrade" from her last one?

One Designer, Two Ways: Dolce & Gabbana

Posted by babu 12:08pm GMT

Now I've featured a lot of designers, two ways, but this is a first.

Tina Fey and Sheryl Crow wore almost identical floral sheaths from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2010 Collection to the 2010 Matrix Awards last night.

While Tina looked adorable in her V-neck number, I'm going to have to go with Sheryl on this one. By foregoing a cover-up, the singer is able to show off her toned arms.

Which style is the right way, and which one needs to hit the highway? You tell me in the comment section below.

Dare to Wear: Dita Von Teese

Posted by babu 4:18pm GMT

Dita Von Teese
sported a lacy, wide-legged bodysuit designed by Dolce & Gabbana at the recent Cointreaupolitan Cocktail Party in Milan.

While I am a big fan of lace when used in small quantities, this is just overkill. She looks like she's wearing an antique tablecloth.

Would you dare to wear this look?

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Pseudo See-Through Dresses

Posted by babu 6:48pm GMT

Perhaps it’s celebs taking advantage of global warming. Or maybe it’s the sheer sassiness of sheer styles. Either way, the latest naked trend keeps the red carpet cool while making guys drool. And last week, two celebs, an ocean apart, went for the invisible effect on the same day!

In England, Dita Von Teese teased fans at the London NRJ Music Awards in her
Jean Paul Gaultier cocktail dress, completed with matching see-through pumps. While in America, Julia Louis-Dreyfus showed up at the recent SAG Awards in a complex Dolce & Gabbana gown featuring three fabrics of different textures.

And gorgeous Haitian-born actress
Garcelle Beauvais wore a simpler version of the trompe-l'oeil trend to a
Golden Globes after-party.

What do you think of sheer dresses?

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Loading Up on Lace

Posted by babu 3:41pm GMT

Though stars’ latest lace looks may not be the same dramatic floor-sweeping all-lace designs that pop up during awards shows, it doesn’t mean the missing yards of lace make for a less impressive dress.

For a recent Sherlock Holmes premiere, Blake Lively, in a nearly sheer Dolce & Gabbana mini, upstaged the other stars on the red carpet that are actually IN the movie.

For the star-packed “Nine” premiere in New York, mother and daughter Madonna and Lourdes kept all eyes on them in coordinated, yet individualistic, Dolce & Gabbana lace looks.

But when Nicole Kidman topped her L’Wren Scott sheath with a poofy lace capelet on December 9 for a screening of “Nine” in California, the fashion reviews were less than favorable.

Dare to Wear: Taylor Momsen

Posted by babu 10:41am GMT

Dear Taylor Momsen,
I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but your CW show is "Gossip Girl," not "The Vampire Diaries."
Whoo! It felt good getting that off my chest.

The actress, whose parents are clearly nothing like mine were growing up (I'm still not allowed to have boobs or any other sign of womanhood in their presence), apparently took last night's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" screening in New York a little too seriously.

Wearing a lacy, black Dolce & Gabbana number and "Edward-when-he-hasn't-eaten-in-days" makeup, perhaps the only thing more frightening than Taylor's getup was co-star Leighton Meester's two days prior. Is this some kind of corpsy conspiracy?!

Would you dare to wear this look?
