This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 6:11pm GMT

This week was all about...magic and magenta. And the winners are...

Sarah Jessica Parker working it in a strapless L'Wren Scott mini at the “Did You Hear About The Morgans?” premiere in London. While SJP rarely disappoints on the red carpet (with the exception of the "acorn" incident), this was one of her "Carrie Bradshaw" moments. From her voluminous waves to her purple Charlotte Olympia heels, not a thing was out of place.

Zoe Saldana shining in a silver RM by Roland Mouret fishtail gown at the “Avatar” World Premiere. Zoe is one of my favorite women to watch on the red carpet, and this is the perfect example of why. Heavily sculpted shoulders add a fresh, almost edgy, touch to this otherwise Old Hollywood glam gown. This is my favorite of the group.

Selena Gomez in a strapless Notte by Marchesa gown at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball. This simple sensation is right in tune with Selena's innocent style. While I would've liked to see some beading along the bodice or waist, the cascading bow adds an adorable touch.

Victoria Beckham wearing, you guessed it, Victoria Beckham at the 2009 British Fashion Awards. I love the shoulder embellishments and the way the bodice is gathered right below the bust line. Classy.

Kerry Washington in an off-the-shoulder Marchesa number at the Broadway Opening Night for “Race.” While the beading and neckline of this dress are rather demure, the bright, magenta color and pleating along the skirt keep things fun and upbeat.

Which lady's glamorous getup do you like best?

I’m Obsessed With: Roland Mouret’s Curve-Highlighting Designs

Posted by babu 3:59pm GMT

Designer Roland Mouret first burst on the red carpet scene when curvy star Scarlett Johansson and also stick thin Victoria Beckham both wore his dresses a few years back and looked spectacular.

Since then, Mr. Mouret has continued to create his trademark dresses that take advantage of a woman’s every curve or, magically, create curves where none seem to exist.

His figure-flattering plum dress was the perfect choice for a curvier Heidi Klum (who had her baby girl on October 9) for a party for the designer last night at the Chateau Marmont in LA.

Even petite star Zoe Saldana stood out at the “Avatar” premier with an out-of-this-world hourglass shape helped along by one of his dramatic dresses. While Cameron Diaz rocked the red carpet in a midnight knee-length number back in November.

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Lingerie Looks

Posted by babu 12:19am GMT

Chloë Sevigny and Zoe Saldana share more than just slightly unusual names and both hailing from New York.

Obviously, both stars also have a love of Prada and the latest bra-friendly looks that walked the designer's Spring 2010 runway when they showed up at the recent Prada book launch in L.A. in ensembles that left little to the imagination.

Would you try this latest lingerie-inspired look?

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:00pm GMT

This week was all about...classic solids that let the details do the talking. And the winners are...

Renee Zellweger in a red, Carolina Herrera sheath at the 16th Annual Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute. I love the origami-like criss-cross design along the bodice of this dress, and it fits the actress perfectly.

Beyonce wearing a Roberto Cavalli mini dress at the Samantha Thavasa Special Meet And Greet With Beyonce in Tokyo. The sweetheart neckline and multi-tiered ruffles up this dress' flirt factor. I also like how the singer resisted the temptation to pair this with black heels and instead made her dress pop with cobalt Rock & Republic Celina platforms.

Zoe Saldana in an ivory dress from the Calvin Klein Spring 2010 collection. The scooped neck and ruching along both sides of the skirt give this dress (which is my favorite of the five) beautiful shape.

Scarlett Johansson in a red, Givenchy dress at the Moet & Chandon Tribute To Cinema in Japan. The old-fashioned style of this dress works well with both ScarJo's personality and classy side-chignon. For some reason, I can't picture it being worn by anyone else.

Gwen Stefani rocking an asymmetrical, halter LBD at the Fashion Group International's 26th Annual Night of Stars in New York. The black belt highlights Gwen's small waist and creates a feminine silhouette. I also like how she opted for partially-sheer black tights so the shape of the dress wouldn't be lost on them.

Which star's style would you deem a class act?

Best-Dressed: 16th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Tribute

Posted by babu 2:48pm GMT

Lipstick reds, dreamy creams and bold prints ran rampant at the 16th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Tribute. And the awards for best-dressed go to...

Zoe Saldana in a ruched, scoop-neck tank dress from the Calvin Klein Spring 2010 collection. This dress, like many Calvin Klein designs worn by Zoe in the past, is poised, yet still playful.

Renee Zellweger
wearing a bright red, strapless sheath designed by Carolina Herrera. Perhaps my favorite look of the night, origami folding along the bodice ups this dress's wow-factor.

Emily Blunt in a nude-colored Dolce & Gabbana dress. The bow and allover drape detailing add dimension to this otherwise plain look.

Diane Kruger rocking a pebbled Balenciaga dress and Manolo Blahnik heels. This beautifully-printed dress could have been worn with or without tights.

Becki Newton
in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress. The use of two different shades of white make this dress a lot more interesting. I would've loved to see Becki, who's known for taking style risks, pair this one with a colorful bauble necklace.

Which star's tribute style is most stunning?
