Red-Carpet Recap: "Sex and the City 2" Premiere in New York

Posted by babu 11:34am GMT

It's finally here! The much-anticipated "Sex and the City 2" premiere took place in New York Monday night and, after personally speaking to SATC2 stylist Patricia Field about what's been deemed the franchise's most fashionable feat yet, it appears the cast saved all the drama for the big screen this time around.

While I wasn't exactly disappointed to see a lack of acorns abound, I felt the stars' bright and shiny sheaths fell somewhat flat.

My favorite look had to be that of SJP, who wore a neon yellow Valentino Couture chiffon number. The rest of the fab four consisted of Cynthia Nixon in Carolina Herrera, Kristin Davis in a hot pink Jean Desses gown and Kim Cattrall rocking a plunging Naeem Khan number.

Which star's premiere style is your fave?

Can't Live Without My: Halston Heritage Dresses

Posted by babu 11:44am GMT

Sarah Jessica Parker looked absolutely stunning in a champagne-colored Halston Heritage gown at the Costume Institute Gala.

The gown instantly took me back to the actress's days filming "SATC2," during which she wore several Halston Heritage pieces, including a purple, pleated number with a striking resemblance to her Gala pick.

SJP's peaking interest in Halston Heritage could have SOMETHING to do with the fact that she recently signed on as the designer label's president and chief creative officer. Is there anything that woman CAN'T do?!

Shake things up with these "Sex and the City 2" summer drink recipes.

Style Showdown: Kelly Ripa vs. Sarah Jessica Parker

Posted by babu 3:58pm GMT

Kelly Ripa and Sarah Jessica Parker were both spotted wearing the same Stella McCartney sheath while out and about on separate occasions in New York.

Both stars looked great (and even accessorized with similar chain necklaces), but I like how Kelly forewent a cover-up so that onlookers could see all of the dress's lacy details.

Who wore Stella McCartney better?

Trend to Try: Purple Pumps

Posted by babu 12:38pm GMT

Celebs like Keke Palmer and Alexandra Burke Singer have been adding a pop of color to their wardrobes with pastel purple plumps.

To no surprise, it appears the source of the trend may be Sarah Jessica Parker, who rocked the highly coveted Brian Atwood "Loca" pumps while filming "SATC2."

For a similar style that won't break the bank, I like Steve Madden's Trinitie Pumps in Lilac, $99.95 (pictured below).

Will you try this trend?

I'm Obsessed With: Brian Atwood's "Loca" Pumps

Posted by babu 12:24pm GMT

Emilie de Ravin
recently rocked Brian Atwood's "Loca" pumps at the UK "Remember Me" premiere.

If you recall, ladies first started going "loca" over the pretty pair when spotted on Sarah Jessica Parker (in lavender) on the "Sex and the City" set.

This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 3:41pm GMT

This week was all about variety. And the winners are...

Dakota Fanning wearing Elie Saab at "The Runaways" premiere in New York. The intricate beading all over this nude dress is absolutely beautiful.

Eva Longoria
ravishing in a lipstick-red Ralph & Russo gown at "The Noble Gift" Gala. An open back adorned with three strands of rhinestones adds an extra touch of glam to this spicy sensation.

Kristen Stewart sparkling in Emilio Pucci at "The Runaways" premiere in New York. I love the combination of the sweetheart neckline and abstract design of this dress.

Jennifer Aniston
glowing in a nude gown from the Donna Karan Spring 2010 collection at "The Bounty Hunter" premiere in New York. This asymmetrical number manages to hug Jen's figure in all the right places.

Sarah Jessica Parker
rocking a star-studded Marchesa mini at the 2010 ShoWest event in Las Vegas. This dress, perhaps my favorite of all, manages to look poised and playful at the same time.

Which star's red-carpet look is your favorite?

Dare to Wear: SJP

Posted by babu 5:41pm GMT

Not even Carrie Bradshaw herself can escape the winter wardrobe blues.

Sarah Jessica Parker ditched the couture for complete coverage while out and about with son James in New York yesterday. If you look closely, you'll notice she and James are wearing matching booties. They don't look like Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo to me...

Would you dare to wear this look?

Quick-Change Artist: Sarah Jessica Parker's Versatile Style

Posted by babu 5:55pm GMT

I'm not sure which came first: actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s enviable personal and red carpet style or the quirky, but imitable, looks made famous by her "Sex And The City" character Carrie Bradshaw.

Whichever the case, the two wardrobes often cross-over -especially yesterday in NYC when SJP pulled a quick-change to go from a panel at the Soho Apple store to talk about her film "What About The Morgans" to the David Letterman show studios later that day.

And leave it to SJP to elevate even jeans (hers are Helmut Lang) with a sexy sheer Alexandre Herchcovitch top and one of the hottest bags of the season, a fuchsia design by Diane De Maria. Later, for the "Late Show," Sarah carried a second bag by Chanel and donned a bustier dress and fishnets similar to the "Carrie-inspired" outfit she wore here.
