On the Scene: Good Housekeeping's 125th Anniversary Party

Posted by babu 5:48pm GMT

I scored a red-carpet spot at Good Housekeeping's 125th Anniversary Party last night in New York, where I was able to talk favorite spring trends with celebs like Jessica Simpson, Kristen Bell and Wendy Williams.

"Lucite is back!," exclaimed Wendy. When asked if there's a trend she'd like to see go away, she couldn't answer quick enough: "Cargo pants! Yeah...fat thighs."

As for Jessica and Kristen? Jessica, who wore a multicolored Matthew Williamson sheath, said she's looking forward to mix-matching, whereas Kristen (wearing Monique Lhuillier) confessed she can't get enough of her "hammer pants."

Some of the other noteworthy guests included Aretha Franklin, Meryl Streep, Hilary Duff and Brooke Shields.

Red-Carpet Recap: Metropolitan Opera Premiere of "Armida"

Posted by babu 12:16pm GMT

The Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere Of "Armida" took place last night in New York. Some of my favorite looks included those of Maggie Gyllenhaal and Camilla Belle (both in Yves Saint Laurent) and Ginnifer Goodwin, who was polished to perfection in a sweetheart-cut bustier and harem pants. I just love how the actress added a pop of color with cobalt heels and a matching clutch.

While I was impartial to Jennifer Morrison's look, I was a tad thrown off by Chloe Sevigny's black jumper and glove combo (then again, this is Chloe we're talking about).

Red-Carpet Recap: Kids' Choice Awards 2010

Posted by babu 11:43am GMT

Bright colors and bold prints swept the red carpet at the 2010 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Some of my favorite looks included...

Selena Gomez in a yellow Christian Cota dress. A gold belt and gladiator heels gave this dress a Grecian goddess feel.

Keke Palmer
rocking a colorful Adam mini and purple peep-toes. The bright pops of color all over this dress reminded me of little gumballs (so fun!).

Victoria Justice
wearing a mint-green mini. She added an edgy touch to her look with a pair of Alexander Wang Freja boots and a black clutch.

Katy Perry
braving a rainbow-colored corset dress created by The Blonds. Giant gems covering the dress and sparkling wedges completed the peacock-perfect look.

Tyra Banks in a tangerine sheath and yellow stilettos. The model and TV host went as far as matching her lip color to her dress, and her clutch to her shoes.

Quick-Change Artists: Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz

Posted by babu 5:15pm GMT

Both Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz slipped out of their fierce Oscar fashions and into something more comfortable (or at least manageable) before hitting up the after-parties.

J.Lo, who rocked a sculpted Armani Privé gown at the awards show, switched things up with a black cutout gown designed by Gucci, while Cameron traded in her Oscar de la Renta gown for an equally shimmery sheath from the Victoria Beckham collection.

While I welcomed the trade in J.Lo's case, I don't think Cameron's demure after-party pick was a good fit for her bubbly nature.

Sizzling Oscar After-Party Styles

Posted by babu 4:08pm GMT

It's no secret in the Oscars world that some of the fiercest fashions wait until after the awards to come out and play. Some of my favorite looks this year included...

Kate Bosworth
romancing in Valentino. While the ruffles along the shoulder and waistline of this gown are no doubt gorgeous, it's the dress's exotic, coral shade that sends the competition packing.

Hilary Swank rocking Armani Privé. The actress took a dramatically different route than stars like J.Lo and Amanda Seyfried (who both wore Armani Privé princess gowns), opting for something that better suits her straightforward style, and really plays up her sex appeal.

Katy Perry mesmerizing in Zuhair Murad. This modern mermaid make (from the Spring 2010 Couture collection) has an Old Hollywood glam appeal that suits Katy's voluminous 'do perfectly.

Kate Beckinsale
shimmering in Kaufman Franco. Kate rarely disappoints on the red carpet, and this occasion was no exception. While the fit of her asymmetrical gown was rather breezy, it still managed to emphasize the actress's flawless figure.

And believe me, you ain't seen nuttin' yet! Check out more Oscars after-party styles now on All the Looks.

Best-Dressed at the Costume Designers Guild Awards

Posted by babu 3:23pm GMT

There were a lot of bold looks at last night's 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. My favorite look of the night was Anna Paquin in a digital-print Marios Schwab dress and cage heels. Following close behind were Kristen Bell wearing a plunging, sequined Stella McCartney number and Emily Blunt in a metallic, marble sheath.
