Dare to Wear: Lady Gaga

Posted by babu 10:29am GMT

I have a feeling Spanx don't apply when it comes to an outfit like this. Then again, I think it's pretty evident here that Lady Gaga doesn't need them.

The singer looked like a modern day Cat Woman in a completely-sheer, cheetah-print bodysuit (with nothing underneath except for a pair of panties and pasties) and over-the-knee boots while out and about in Paris last night.

She completed her look with a dramatic cat eye, embellished mole and her recently-debuted jagged, jet-black bang.

Dare to Wear: Naomi Watts

Posted by babu 4:03pm GMT

Apparently, celebrities aren't exempt from having "laundry days."

Naomi Watts, whose style I usually adore, haphazardly threw together an LBD, jacket, sandals and a patchwork handbag for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

She put about just as much effort into her beauty routine, which presumably consisted of her throwing her hair up in a ponytail and applying lipgloss on the way out the door.

Heidi Klum's Mirrored Gown: Love It or Leave It?

Posted by babu 5:25pm GMT

Mirror, mirror on the wall: who's the fairest of them all?

"Project Runway's" own Heidi Klum stole the spotlight in a metallic Julien Macdonald gown covered with what looked like shattered mirror fragments at the 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.

Never one to dull down a statement-making style, she topped off her look with iridescent Christian Louboutin pumps and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

What's your take on Heidi's light-reflecting look?

Dare to Wear: Emma Stone

Posted by babu 12:41pm GMT

I've been keeping a close eye on Emma Stone ever since she blew me away at this year's Golden Globes and, while I've been awed by several of her red carpet looks since, I'm writing this one down as a misstep.

I love the swirly, beaded and sequin detailing along the blouse portion of the actress's lacy Chanel sheath (worn to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party), but I just can't manage to get past the long train in back, which manages to distract attention away from the rest of her look. I also find her plum Salvatore Ferragamo pumps to be a tad matchy-matchy. I'd like to see how the dress fares when paired with cobalt-blue or silver pumps instead.

Dare to Wear: Ginnifer Goodwin

Posted by babu 2:50pm GMT

Apparently, Ginnifer Goodwin isn't one to walk the red carpet without backup.

From the front, the "Big Love" actress appeared to be keeping it classy (and somewhat safe) in a cream Louis Vuitton blazer and black trousers at the Tom Ford Beverly Hills Store Opening.

But a giraffe head peeking around the corner hinted at a wilder side (her back), which was covered with two large giraffe prints.

I'm not sure if it's the print, or the fit (or Ginnifer's new, mohawk 'do), but I just can't bring myself to like this look.

Dare to Wear: M.I.A.

Posted by babu 5:52pm GMT

Despite her stage name, there's no missing in/the action when it comes to M.I.A.

The hip-hop singer gave Paloma Faith a run for her money at the Ashish show during London Fashion Week, where she wore what looked like an iridescent clown suit, combat boots and cloak.

She topped off her look with what I hope were night vision visors.

Dare to Wear: Paloma Faith

Posted by babu 5:15pm GMT

Is Paloma Faith going to a rodeo, picnic and fashion show in one?

The British singer-songwriter and actress looked like she might be suffering from multiple style personality disorder in a red-checkered maxi dress, chambray button-up and leopard coat during London Fashion Week.

As if her cuckoo ensemble weren't conflicted enough, she topped it off with a bowed, silk hair tie and a carry-on.

Dare to Wear: Vanessa Hudgens

Posted by babu 1:07pm GMT

Vanessa Hudgens
was in full hippie mode in a belled shirt and pant duo at the Anna Sui show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2011.

She topped off her swinging style with a braided hairband and curls.

Dare to Wear: Hayley Williams

Posted by babu 12:48pm GMT

Apparently, Hayley Williams has been sipping the same punk rock potion as Avril Lavigne (scroll down for her look), because she was a pop of color in a sheer and embellished dress similar to that worn by Avril at the BRIT Awards (complete with pink tutu and accessorized with an orange and lime palette), at this year's Grammys.

What baffles me is that she went as far as to dye her eyebrows to match her hair and lip, yet didn't make an attempt to tie her beauty look in with her ensemble.

Dare to Wear: Avril Lavigne

Posted by babu 2:30pm GMT

Avril Lavigne is often guilty of punk-rocking the red-carpet boat a little too hard, and the 2011 BRIT Awards was no exception.

While no doubt daring, I'm convinced a more natural backdrop (as opposed to Avril's streaky, green and pink strands) would have better served this partially sheer, heavily embellished LBD.

The silk platform pairing also seemed a bit out of character.
