Dare to Wear: Kate Winslet

Posted by babu 12:24pm GMT

Kate Winslet opted for a geometric, Stella McCartney LBD with sexy, sheer paneling that extended from her left side to her back at the "Mildred Pierce" premiere in New York.

While I appreciate the fact that Kate took a risk in choosing this dress, I can't help but think the big polka-dots came off as a bit clownish (a ladybug also came to mind). I also would've preferred to see her accessorize her look with platforms. Her nude and black strap sandals competed with her dress.

Dare to Wear: Taylor Momsen

Posted by babu 12:45pm GMT

And now, for the latest installment in the Taylor Momsen shredder style saga...

The on-again, off-again "Gossip Girl" actress, former face of "Material Girl" and singer was spotted wearing what appeared to be a ripped tee attached to lacy thigh-highs and a leather jacket while on tour in Virginia.

She topped off her grungy getup with a dog collar and leg-brace boots.

Dare to Wear: Kristen Bell

Posted by babu 6:01pm GMT

Kristen Bell
looked like a walking mini-disc display in a Sea-NY LBD with allover jumbo, silver sequin detailing at the 19th Annual "A Night At Sardi's" Fundraiser and Awards Dinner in Beverly Hills.

In what appeared to be an attempt to pull off the color blocking trend (metallic edition, that is), the actress topped off her shimmering sheath with bronze pumps.

Dare to Wear: Emma Watson

Posted by babu 4:31pm GMT

Apparently, Teresa Palmer isn't the only young actress with a penchant for boyish good looks.

Just several days after Teresa rocked her red Topshop blazer and cropped short ensemble (click here to see her look), Emma Watson was spotted in an oversize, blush-colored blazer worn over a button-up shirt and lace shorts while shooting a Lancome commercial in Paris.

She completed her menswear-inspired look with a black tie.

Dare to Wear: Selena Gomez

Posted by babu 5:39pm GMT

Is Selena Gomez a trend hoarder?!

While many women have been guilty of overbuying when it comes to the latest trends, much fewer are guilty (or perhaps even capable) of incorporating a season's worth of trends into one outfit.

Apparently, Selena, who recently rocked a dress featuring an illusionary inset, lace, corset, beads, studs, snakeskin paneling and a tribal print skirt, hails from the "much fewer" category.

To make matters even worse, she topped off her Emilio Pucci creation, worn during a visit to the "Late Show With David Letterman," with zippered, rosette-clad ballet flats.

Dare to Wear: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi

Posted by babu 5:52pm GMT

Not one to be ignored, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi commanded attention in a heavily studded, partially sheer bodice and metallic pumps that were about two sizes too big while hosting a recent party at LAX Nightclub in Las Vegas.

While the "Jersey Shore" star gave her red-carpet look two lips up, I can't help but think her skin-tight style, which looked like it was covered in little scales, deserved at least one thumb down.

Dare to Wear: Emma Stone

Posted by babu 2:45pm GMT

When I came across this picture of Emma Stone in her ill-flattering, patchwork Louis Vuitton coat, I held on to hope that she'd make up for her outerwear choice with whatever dress was sticking out from underneath. Unfortunately, she didn't.

Not only did her dress, coat and gray booties make for an awkward ensemble overall, but her baggy, navy and print Louis Vuitton wrap dress (which looked like it was about to slide off) barely managed to stand on its own.

Dare to Wear: Avril Lavigne

Posted by babu 5:01pm GMT

The first thought that came to mind when I came across this pic was "What happened to Avril Lavigne's legs??!!"

The singer (who's tiny to begin with) managed to mask her bottom half almost entirely in a pink-sequined dress with a multi-tiered, black taffeta and tulle skirt at the release party for her latest soundtrack "Goodbye Lullaby."

She went on to clutter her look even further with an oversize charm necklace, bracelets and her signature combat boots.

Dare to Wear: Liv Tyler

Posted by babu 1:12pm GMT

When Liv Tyler wants to keep paparazzi at bay on the red carpet, she opts for an outfit with serious bite.

The actress modeled a teeth-baring, Rottweiler-print sweater (from the Givenchy Fall 2011 Mens collection) at the Givenchy AfterShow Party At L'Arc during Paris Fashion Week, attempting (unsuccessfully) to tame Cujo in with a menswear blazer.

Dare to Wear: Blake Lively

Posted by babu 12:36pm GMT

Note to self: Must not get caught up in Blake Lively's gorgeous green emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

While the actress looked absolutely stunning from the neck up at the a recent Chanel dinner held in her honor, there's something about the rest of her look that didn't sit right with me.

I'm not sure if it was the chiffon layering (that reminded me of wadded-up toilet paper) along the collar and skirt of her Chanel Couture dress, or the fact that she opted for similarly neutral accessories, but overall, her styling appeared a little "corpse bride" for my liking.
