Red-Carpet Recap: Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair Cocktail Party

The celeb fashion forecast was dark and cloudy at the Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair Cocktail Party held this week in Beverly Hills.

Some of my favorite looks included those of January Jones (in a black, lace blouse and navy, high-waisted pant ensemble from the Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 collection), Kristen Bell in a V-neck, watercolor-print number from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2010 collection) and Brittany Snow, who rocked an asymmetrical blouse from the Tibi Spring 2010 collection paired with the Dark Romance Trouser Pant from Plastic Island and Swarovski jewels.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about the sexiest sheaths. And the winners are...

Jessica Alba sizzling in a Proenza Schouler shift dress at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival Program Celebration in West Hollywood. As if the colorful, spotty print of this dress weren't fun enough, Jessica heated things up with color-coordinated heels, makeup and jewelry.

Ginnifer Goodwin ravishing in a red Valentino sheath at the 24th Genesis Awards. I love how Ginnifer breathes new life into the (yawn!) black lace trend by choosing a bright shade of red (while this dress is from the pre-fall collection, I'd say it's also perfect for spring)

Miley Cyrus rocking an asymmetrical leather sheath at "The Last Song" premiere in Los Angeles. Ruffle detailing along the shoulder of this bodyhugger adds a flirty touch.

Kristen Bell glowing in a soft lilac Alberta Ferretti dress at the Geffen Fundraiser in Los Angeles. Kristen tops off her perfectly-polished look with a pair of ankle-strap heels, which have become a huge trend on the red carpet lately.

Carey Mulligan charming in a tweed Chanel sheath at "The Greatest" premiere in Los Angeles. While this dress is no doubt sophisticated, Carey adds a youthful touch with a pair of black and gold heels with fan-like detailing along the sides and heel.

Red-Carpet Recap: "Geffen Playhouse" Fundraiser

The "Geffen Playhouse" fundraiser took place in Los Angeles last night. While stars like Kristen Bell (in Alberta Ferretti) and Kristin Chenoweth sizzled in cocktail dresses, Christina Applegate kept it casual-chic in a blazer and leggings combo.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about the perfect party dress. And the winners are...

Anna Paquin�rocking a Marios Schwab mini at the�12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.�The digital explosion of a print on this dress is so in right now, and pairs great with those cage-style heels.

Saoirse Ronan�in�Burberry at the 2010 BAFTA Awards.�As I mentioned in my awards recap earlier this week, the "Atonement" actress looks absolutely adorable in this playful, strapless dress with allover ruching. The denim belt also adds a youthful touch.

Naomi Campbell wowing in an Alexander McQueen number at the Elle (UK) Style Awards. This snakeskin-print sensation (from the late designer's Spring 2010 collection) is as courageous as it is colorful.

Audrey Tautou�popping in�Lanvin at the 2010 BAFTA Awards.�I love how, in a fashion world where everyone is trying to go tighter and tougher, this dress is so unapologetically girly. The French actress plays up its femininity with bright red lipstick and shoes.

Kristen Bell sparkling in Stella McCartney at the�12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.�While the gold glitter covering this dress is certainly eye-catching, it's the dress's plunging neckline, lined with sheer-nude fabric, that really sets it apart on the red carpet.

Best-Dressed at the Costume Designers Guild Awards

There were a lot of bold looks at last night's 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. My favorite look of the night was Anna Paquin in a digital-print Marios Schwab dress and cage heels. Following close behind were Kristen Bell wearing a plunging, sequined Stella McCartney number and Emily Blunt in a metallic, marble sheath.

This week was all about...puttin' on the ritz. And the winners are...

Taylor Swift sparkling in a Reem Acra gown at the 2009 CMA Awards. The sequin detailing on this dress is every little girl's fairytale come true.

Kristen Bell in TIBI at the Assassin's Creed II Launch Party. Though from the Spring 2010 collection, the bold, allover black print on this sheath is right on trend for fall.

Jennifer Nettles glowing in a Luisa Beccaria gown. The ruffled detailing along this fishtail train gives the otherwise sophisticated dress a flirty feel.

Lauren Conrad rocking a mini shift dress and Joie Arietta sequined blazer at the Assassin's Creed II Launch Party. This blazer gives the otherwise basic dress instant party potential.

Kristen Stewart wearing a chiffon J. Mendel sweetheart dress at "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" photocall in Paris. While the tomboy doesn't exactly own her look, it is the only one I've seen her in and loved. The ruched bodice and draped skirt take this dress from simple to sensational (reminds me of something Taylor Swift might wear).
