Quick-Change Artist: Rihanna's Cat Fashion in Korea

Posted by babu 8:11pm GMT

Better than a
"Snuggie?" Well, I'm not convinced Riri's feline fashion is appropriate red carpet wear -- even after her long flight to Korea. (Maybe she is just giving Lady Gaga a run for the money.)

Singer Rihanna traded a frothy Isaac Mizrahi skirt and a bold-shoulder
Alexandre Vauthier jacket for an unusual cat costume to promote her "Rated R" album during her second press event on the same day.

Quick-Change Artist: Katie Holmes' Supersized Coat

Posted by babu 1:42pm GMT

Katie Holmes spent the earlier part of her day in Midtown Manhattan yesterday working with her stylist Jeanne Yang on their fashion collection Holmes & Yang (yup, Katie has a line of clothes, too).

While Holmes' mommy-proof daytime ensemble was very city chic, her later look (an enormous blah-gray Hermes coat) for the opening of the new Hermes men's store in NYC was questionable -- and confusing -- considering she had spent the entire afternoon "designing" with a top Hollywood stylist.

Quick-Change Artist: Jennifer Lopez's Versace Dresses Go Into Overtime

Posted by babu 4:09pm GMT

One would think that after being so "overexposed" in that infamous green Versace "dress" at the 2000 Grammys that Jennifer Lopez would pick a different designer for the annual event.

But the triple-threat star chose Versace again -- twice in one night -- at the most recent Grammys.

However, the metallic mini J Lo wore to a Grammy after-party (above, right) looks like it could have been hiding all along under her white Versace gown from earlier in the night.

Quick-Change Artist: Beyonce Wins Two Grammys for Every Dress Change

Posted by babu 5:56pm GMT

And the winner is.....Beyoncé, Beyoncé and oh, Beyoncé.

At last night's 52nd Annual Grammys, the singer took home a record-breaking six Grammys, including Song of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)," and almost had as many dress changes to go along with all those wins:

Bey walked the red carpet in a futuristic, molded Stephane Rolland gown and enormous earrings, which are sure to kick off a big jewelry trend for ears in the next months.

She followed that lean golden-girl look with a darker, leather, patchwork Atelier Versace mini, and then a final change into a Swarovski crystal-encrusted Armani Privé and another pair of supersized earrings.

Quick-Change Artist: Ciara's Tardy For The Party Look

Posted by babu 12:20pm GMT

Ciara is used to hearing applause, but photographers booed her for being 40 minutes late to the Givenchy show during Paris' Couture Fashion Week on January 26.

The singer made a quick recovery after a quick-change from her leather mini skirt into Givenchy's Fall 2009 silver harem pants (Why platinum adult diapers? we have no clue) to make amends to the designer at the show's after-party.

Thank goodness designer Riccardo Tisci is such a gracious host and the singer did not end up with one of the black eyes his models sported on the runway earlier that day.

Quick-Change Artist: Mariah Carey Has Fool's Gold

Posted by babu 12:11pm GMT

I will totally give props to Mariah Carey for going all out in true Diva style by enlisting a personal tutu valet to help her make a quick change on stage mid-song at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, last night.

But sadly, the gold dress Mariah's manservant revealed to the world is best kept under wraps — preferably under yards and yards — and yards — of tacky tulle. Mimi may love a good mini, but this one looks like a pageant dress that got caught in a food processor.

Quick-Change Artist: Chloe Sevigny Trades Her Torn Valentino for Lacroix

Posted by babu 2:22pm GMT

Poor Chloe Sevigny was having wardrobe malfunctions all night at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday:

First, she complained while walking the red carpet that she needed a "tarp" to keep the rain off her delicate Valentino gown.

Then, to add insult to injury, a Globes escort ripped the same dress when she walked on stage to accept her award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Perhaps that's why Chloe decided to swap the delicate chiffon floor-grazer for a more party-friendly Christian Lacroix frock to celebrate her "Big Love" win at the HBO after-party later that same night.

More from the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards:

2010 Golden Globes: Best Dressed

Quick-Change Artist: Jenna Elfman's Pricey Stripes

Posted by babu 3:10pm GMT

Most stylish mommies-to-be rely on tunic sweaters and stretch jeans from the local maternity store to stay chic during their biggest months. And actress Jenna Elfman was wearing a similar style (which happens to also include sky-high caged heels), before she made a quick change into a Markus Lupfer sequin sailor sweater dress just before her appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" in NYC yesterday.

But Jenna's designer dress-turned-tunic sells for a whopping $1,300. At that price, let's hope hers came with its own coordinated boat!

Quick-Change Artist: Mariah Carey Goes Grunge to Glam

Posted by babu 7:40am GMT

While Mariah Carey went through a dramatic transformation for her appearance in the hit film "Precious," she also make a major makeover after a quick-change on the red carpet at the Capri Hollywood Film Festival in Italy yesterday.

While the superstar singer (turned acclaimed actress now) showed up at the film event in what looked like long-johns, she returned to the red carpet hours later looking like her diva-self in a red, sequin, floor-grazing gown to accept the Capri Award for Supporting Actress of the Year 2009.

Quick-Change Artist: Sarah Jessica Parker's Versatile Style

Posted by babu 5:55pm GMT

I'm not sure which came first: actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s enviable personal and red carpet style or the quirky, but imitable, looks made famous by her "Sex And The City" character Carrie Bradshaw.

Whichever the case, the two wardrobes often cross-over -especially yesterday in NYC when SJP pulled a quick-change to go from a panel at the Soho Apple store to talk about her film "What About The Morgans" to the David Letterman show studios later that day.

And leave it to SJP to elevate even jeans (hers are Helmut Lang) with a sexy sheer Alexandre Herchcovitch top and one of the hottest bags of the season, a fuchsia design by Diane De Maria. Later, for the "Late Show," Sarah carried a second bag by Chanel and donned a bustier dress and fishnets similar to the "Carrie-inspired" outfit she wore here.
