This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 12:30pm GMT

This week was all about simple sensations. And the winners are...

Gwyneth Paltrow in an Antonio Berardi number at the Chopard Gala in New York City. While extremely conservative, this gown still manages to look seductive.

Scarlett Johansson
rocking a sculpted Armani Priv dress at the “Iron Man 2" premiere in Los Angeles. The actress adds a touch of sparkle with glittery shoes and clutch.

Halle Berry wearing a Vera Wang gown at the Shanghai Bazaar Charity Gala. I love the contrast of the black sheer overlay against the skintone fabric of this gown.

Kate Hudson
looking polished in a lavender satin dress at the Chopard Gala in New York City. The actress spruced up the simple creation with a colorful bead necklace and beige platforms.

Jessica Alba
in a breezy Chloe gown at “The Killer Inside Me” screening in New York. This bohemian princess look is a fresh break from the bolder, more forward styles rocked by Jessica as of late.

Which star's red-carpet look is most sensational?

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about shimmer. And the winners are...

Taylor Swift in a lavender Marchesa gown at the 2010 ACM Awards. The embroidered detailing along the illusionary inset chest and bodice of this gown added a romantic touch.

Jennifer Lopez
getting leggy in Georges Chakra at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Celebration. Gold ghingham detailing gave this dress a truly luxe feel.

Julianne Hough
glowing in a white Basil Soda gown at the 2010 ACM Awards. Metallic, shieldlike detailing along the bodice added more dimension to the otherwise simplistic dress.

Halle Berry
rocking a nude Gucci number at the 30th Anniversary Silver Rose Gala and Auction. Cutouts along the shoulder and midriff, along with a metallic neckline, were the saucy staples of this sheath.

Carrie Underwood shimmering in a champagne-colored Basil Soda dress at the 2010 ACM Awards. Precise pleating all over this dress, culminating at the one shoulder, proved perfection.

Which star's red-carpet look truly sparkles?

Red-Carpet Recap: 2010 Silver Rose Gala & Auction

Posted by babu 2:33pm GMT

While stars like Leona Lewis and Alicia Keys certainly heated up the red carpet at this year's Silver Rose Gala & Auction, it was Halle Berry who took the cake in a Gucci cutout dress with gold detailing along the neckline.

The actress accessorized with a gold bangle and a pair of taupe pumps.

Which celeb's auction style is truly sensational?

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about Golden Globes and platinum poise. And the winners are...

Halle Berry rocking a black silk Kaufman Franco gown at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Few and far between are the days that I haven't approved of what Halle was wearing (with that body, she could make almost anything look good). That said, I really love how this gown struck the perfect balance between soft (lace) and seductive (that would be the plunging neckline).

Olivia Wilde
securing her THIRD "Fab" post in a row with a nude sheath from the Spring 2010 Marchesa collection at The Art of Elysium's Third Annual Gala. The soft floral embroidery and airy petals on this otherwise basic strapless bodice create a feeling of true enchantment. I also like how the actress stuck with nude heels as to not distract from the details.

Amber Heard
ravishing in a lipstick-red Christian Dior gown at The Art of Elysium's Third Annual Gala. At first glance, I didn't know how to pinpoint my feelings for this dress. At second glance, I was in love. Red lipstick and nails seal the deal for this old-fashioned fireball.

Camilla Belle sparkling in a crystal-encrusted Giorgio Armani dress at the InStyle/Time Warner Bros. Golden Globes after party. While the pattern and cut of this dress are no doubt flattering, the origamic panels along the neckline are what makes it. (See who else wore this dress).

Christina Aguilera working a pale-peach Versace creation at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. The pastel hue of this gown is right on trend for spring. Silver ribbing along the bodice added a modern, if not futuristic, feel. (See who else wore this dress).

Which star's look is platinum?

Trend to Try: Classic Celeb-Approved Daytime Looks

Posted by babu 6:44pm GMT

Stars dressed demurely for the recent Hollywood Reporter's Annual Women In Entertainment breakfast which was co-sponsored by our very own Lifetime network on December 4.

The look du jour included simple silhouettes in classic colors like Eva Longoria Parker's scoop neck navy Loewe dress and Halle Berry's tweed Giambattista Valli suit.

I love that each celeb, including Hilary Swank in a minimalist jersey dress, skipped the statement accessories for this prestigious event and let their classic, chic heels and great smiles take center stage.

Dare to Wear: Halle Berry

Posted by babu 12:40pm GMT

What's purchased in Vegas should stay in Vegas. Halle Berry showed some skin in a black Kaufman Franco bodice at Keep A Child Alive's 6th Annual Black Ball in New York. While there's no doubting she has the body to pull this sequined stunner off, I think this falls into the realm of trying too hard.

Not only do the slits in this dress create a mummy-like vibe (a little early for Halloween), but the top completely smushes her chest! I much prefer Taylor Swift's looser, and more elegant, Kaufman Franco pick for this year's MTV Vido Music Awards.

Would you dare to wear this look?
