Malin Akerman's Feather Earring: Love It or Leave It?

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I first spotted Malin Akerman's feathery friend at the 7th Annual New Yorkers For Children Spring Dinner Dance.

What was even more bewildering than the fact that the actress's earring could easily double as an exotic hair extension is that it appears she's only wearing one.

This Week's Fab Five

This week was all about sophisticated charm. And the winners are...

Taraji P. Henson electrifying in a bright blue dress from the Victoria Beckham Collection at the "Date Night" premiere in New York. The origami-like folding along the neckline and skirt of this dress offers a fresh take on the old sheath standby.

Olivia Palermo glowing in a Ports 1961 gown at the 7th Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance. Very rare is the occasion that I don't love what "The City" actress is wearing, and this is certainly no exception. Something about the strong neckline and oversized belt says she means business.

Malin Akerman rocking a Miu Miu sheath at the Gen Art Film Festival premiere of “Happythankyoumoreplease” in New York. The coral branch-like detailing throughout this dress really pops. The actress plays up the color even more with a matching clutch.

Melissa George mesmerizing in a steel gray gown at the 7th Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance. While the details on this dress are kept to a minimum, the plunging neckline and thigh-high slit ooze seduction. I also like the actress's emerald drop earring pairing.

Demi Moore donning a magenta Marchesa number at “The Joneses" premiere in Los Angeles. Not only is Demi wearing a color other than black (shocker!), but she opted for silver pumps. Kudos!

One Designer, Two Ways: Miu Miu

Actress Malin Akerman looked gorgeous in a beaded sheath from the Miu Miu Spring 2010 collection at the Gen Art Film Festival Premiere Of "Happythankyoumoreplease" last night.

Courtney Love rocked a similar Miu Miu design at the 2010 Brit Awards back in February.

I'm going with Malin on this one because I just love the use of coral throughout her dress, which she played up with a matching clutch.

Battle of the Blazers

To prove the boyfriend trend is still in full swing, all three of Hayden Panettiere, Malin Akerman and Britny Gastineau topped off their looks with blazers for last night's HAVEN360 & Roadside Attractions Pre-Oscars Gala.

Style Showdown: Olivia Palermo vs. Malin Akerman

While scrolling through last night's red carpet images, it didn't take me long to recognize the adorable, studded leather jacket worn by Malin Akerman to the 1st Annual Data Awards as being the same previously rocked by Olivia Palermo at the Dior Beauty Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of J'adore event back in September.

While I don't think anyone could really go wrong with this jacket (from Topshop), I love how Olivia played off of the jacket's edgy embellishments with a more delicate metallic sheath for an easy, urban vibe. Malin's full-on biker attire appeared a little too forced.

Downgrade: Malin Akerman's Shredded Style

After seeing "Couples Retreat" actress
Malin Akerman in this shredded Max Azria dress, I am a little embarrassed I claimed I was obsessed with her consistently fabulous style choices.

The ultra-chic LBD she wore in London just a few months ago looked inspired by style icon Audrey Hepburn.

But the plunging design she wore last night to a Golden Globes after-party could have been borrowed from an '80s-obsessed "Rock of Love" cast member.

Rule Breakers or Trend Makers: Fancy Finger Casts

Not content with just diamond knuckle dusters, these days, stars are going for extreme rings that resemble "finger casts." And while I am against violence, I may be willing to knock over a few fashionistas and risk broken bones to get my hands on one of these fierce finger accents.

Back in March, "Couples Retreat" actress Malin Akerman showed off an enormous ring by jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, while Mary Kate Olsen sported a similar style (also from Rodkin) that weighed as much as she does at the Paris fashion shows in October. And Victoria Beckham flashed her bondage band in just the past month, ensuring the trend will surely stick around a little longer.

Dare to Wear: Malin Akerman

"Couples Retreat" star Malin Akerman was glowing in a strapless, yellow and nude dress from the Thakoon Resort 2010 collection at her film's Los Angeles premiere.

Though it would be pretty difficult for the actress to actually look bad wearing anything, I would've liked to see her mini paired with nude heels and a bright-colored or black clutch.
