This Week's Fab Five

Posted by babu 4:12pm GMT

This week was all about pretty prints. And the winners are...

Nikki Reed
in a Sea shift dress at the Blackberry Torch Launch Party in Los Angeles. The "Twilight" actress wrapped up her soft approach to the leopard-print trend with nude platform pumps.

Drew Barrymore
rocking a mosaic sheath at the Nylon Magazine + Express Denim Launch Party in West Hollywood. The actress paired this bargain of a dress (allegedly scooped up at the Janine vintage store in Texas) with suede Trib Two pumps. Talk about a high-low fashion combo!

Lea Michele sporting a Naeem Khan mini at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. I just love the sparkling, seaweed-like detailing on this dress, which landed the actress her third Fab Five spot in a row.

Kerry Washington glowing in a chiffon Jason Wu Resort dress at "The Tillman Story" premiere in New York. The flowy, feminine style and luxe leopard print of this dress couldn't be a better fit for the always-classy Kerry.

Kristen Bell
posing in a red and tan Stella McCartney sheath at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. The sheer, red overlay adds a playful touch to this otherwise classic, embroidered sheath.

Which star's red-carpet print is prettiest?

Red-Carpet Recap: Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party

Posted by babu 6:09pm GMT

2010 Teen Choice Awards Red-Carpet Pictures

Fall trends were on full display at last night's Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party in West Hollywood.

Some of the more notable celebs looks included those of Drew Barrymore (in a metallic, mosaic-print dress and nude pumps), Kelly Osbourne (rocking a leopard-print sheath and leather bomber vest) and Lake Bell (in a zip-up vest, blouse and flouncy skirt ensemble).

While Amber Heard also looked great in a black, belted LBD and pumps, I'm afraid the same can't be said for Shenae Grimes, who proved a doozy in a tube top, cut-offs and an animal-print robe.

Which star's party style is your fave?

Drew's Gingham Glasses: Love 'Em or Leave 'Em?

Posted by babu 11:55am GMT

Never one to be pigeonholed into a specific style genre, Drew Barrymore added some funky flair to her floral sundress and red peep-toes with neon, gingham shades while out and about in New York yesterday.

While the playful pair might have been a good fit for the actress's Bonaroo Festival days, they looked a tad out of place in this Katy Perry-meets-Eva Mendes look.

What's your take on Drew's gingham glasses?

Fashion Formula: SAG Stars Take Home the Blue

Posted by babu 5:32pm GMT

We all know that a blue ribbon means "first place." But who knew wearing a blue dress to the recent 2010 SAG Awards could get you a win!

While many of our favorite actresses and shows deserved their well-earned honors (blue-hued dress or not), you can't deny that the indigo winning streak is surprisingly suspicious.

Sandra Bullock took home a statue for Best Actress for "The Blind Side" in a sapphire-trimmed Alexander McQueen dress and now has people buzzing that she is an easy win for the Oscars. And, like Bullock, both Drew Barrymore (in Monique Lhuillier) and Julianna Margulies (in Narciso Rodriguez) won in their categories at last week's 2010 Golden Globes AND again at Saturday's SAG event.

But Tina Fey had better luck winning at the SAGs (she lost Best Actress in a Comedy at the Globes) in her blueish-hued Salvatore Ferragamo short style.

Dare to Wear: Drew Barrymore

Posted by babu 11:31am GMT

This dress looks like the result of a lot of leftover sequins, and one overly-resourceful designer.

Drew Barrymore wore the multi-colored collage of a dress, designed by Emilio Pucci, at the "Everybody's Fine" screening in New York last night.

Too bad the scraps fell short of one shoulder...

Would you dare to wear this look?

Style Showdown: Naomi Campbell vs. Drew Barrymore

Posted by babu 6:46pm GMT

One print, two worlds apart. While Drew Barrymore looked like one of the "Mad Men" ladies in a full-skirted Alexander McQueen Resort 2010 cocktail dress at a "Whip It" premiere during the Toronto Film Festival, Naomi Campbell opted for the "mini-me" version at Nick Knight's ShowStudio Opening Party in London just days later.

If this print weren't so distinct, one probably wouldn't even realize these dresses were taken from the same collection. I'd actually like to see a sleeveless version of Drew's dress, minus the lace across the upper-bodice, with a tulip-style skirt.

Which star looks prettier in this print?

Best Dressed of the 2009 Emmys

Posted by babu 10:58am GMT

While our Best Dressed picks from the 2009 Emmys may not have taken home any gold statues last night, their first-rate style definitely stole the show. (See all the stunning dresses spotted on the Emmy red carpet in my new Emmy Lookbook.)

January Jones made a point of going for a modern Versace number to differentiate her style from her "Mad Men" character. Heidi Klum coordinated her Marchesa gown (custom made to accommodate her baby bump) to husband Seal's black tuxedo, while Christina Applegate chose an exotic deep blue dress by Lebanese designer Basil Soda.

Blake Lively in a down-to-there Versace number still managed to stand out from the matching red carpet. "Ugly Betty's" Vanessa Williams wore a flattering blue Rafael Cennamo gown, while Drew Barrymore (nominated for her part in HBO's "Grey Gardens" hit movie) floated down the red carpet in a dreamy peach chiffon Monique Lhuillier design.

Whose 2009 Emmy style do you prefer?
