eBay and CFDA Launch "You Can't Fake Fashion" Campaign
I've never quite understood the allure of imposter designer bags because, thanks to brands like H&M and Melie Bianco, there are so many affordable (and typically better made) alternatives for the budget-friendly fashionista. (That, and they set you up for a sticky situation, à la Samantha Jones and her fake Fendi.)
This morning, eBay and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) officially launched "You Can't Fake Fashion," a campaign created "to raise awareness against counterfeit goods and celebrate original design within the fashion industry."
The campaign will be enforced by a collection of original canvas tote bags that read "You Can't Fake Fashion," including 50 one-of-a-kind totes customized by CFDA designers like President Diane Von Furstenberg, Badgley Mischka, Marchesa, Rodarte and Jason Wu, as well as limited-edition standard totes bearing the same tagline.
The customized totes ($150) and standard totes ($35) are available for "Buy It Now" purchase in the eBay Fashion Vault as of today, with all proceeds benefiting the CFDA Foundation.
