Cheynne (Joanna Garcia) announces she is going to a sober party with her support group for Halloween and Van (Steve Howey) can't go. Van worries that Cheyenne is spending too much time with Frank (Andrew Walker), her sponsor. No one wants to attend Reba's party, and Brock (Christopher Rich) and Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) try to persuade her to give up her Halloween dream of scaring the children. They catch Cheynne and Frank giggling together in the doorway, and Reba invites Frank in and calls Van down who puts on a big display of his affection for Cheynne in front of Frank. Cheynne is embarrassed and when she leaves, Van confesses to Reba he thinks Cheynne is having an affair. She comes home several hours after her meetings are over. When Van leaves the room, Brock and Barbra Jean think Cheynne is having an affair and Reba is scared they are right. On Halloween night, Reba sits alone and Van leaves to walk Jake (Mitch Holleman) to a friend's house. Brock, Barbra Jean and Reba are shocked to see Cheynne leave for her party in a skimpy French maid outfit. She dropped a matchbook from a sleazy hotel with a note from Frank. Jake enters upset and says that Van say Frank and went crazy. They got into a bad fight. Cheynne made her choice to stay with Frank. Van wants to flee to Mexico. Cheynne enters hysterical and wants to know what Van did with Frank because the police are on the way. He says he put him in the drunk. Reba goes to fetch Frank but when she opens the door, she finds Frank bloody and begging for help. Jake snaps a picture of Reba's startled face. Everybody laughs as Reba realizes she's been tricked. Cheynne explains that Frank is an actor from her meetings. They all realize that Barbra Jean, who was not in on the joke, is outside looking for a crime scene. Reba says this Halloween keeps getting better.

Barbra Jean tries to pretend Brock's comment about her gained weight doesn't bother her, but her facade crumbles. She needs help losing weight because it's hard. Cheyenne declares that she and Reba will be Barbra Jean's diet buddies. Reba, Cheynne, and Barbra Jean become obsessed with food after dieting and exercising. Cheynne and Reba catch each other sneaking food. They decide to eat ice cream together. Barbra Jean comes in and says that apparently she is the only one who wants to lose weight. Cheyenne and Reba report they have already lost some weight. Barbra Jean has gained some, without cheating. Barbra Jean wishes she had bodies like Reba and Cheyenne's. Reba says she does not go to the beach anymore because she's uncomfortable in a bathing suit. Reba tells her that if dieting is making her miserable, she should stop. She tells Barbra Jean that she is wrong about Brock not finding her attractive anymore. She has never been tiny and he has always been attracted to her. She suggests she go home and put on a sexy outfit so Brock can show her how beautiful he finds her. Barbra Jean is so grateful she says she is going to take Reba to the beach tomorrow.

  Sleep-deprived Brock (Christopher Rich) comes to pick up Jake (Mitch Holleman) to take him to a soccer game - but the game is already over. Brock explains that the baby is keeping them up all night, and he will make it up to Jake by building a treehouse. Reba (Reba McEntire) tells Brock to stop making promises he can't keep. Brock arrives the next day with the treehouse kit, but he doesn't have time to put it up. Reba and Van (Steve Howey) end up constructing the treehouse. Jake is delighted and asks Brock to camp out in the treehouse overnight. Reba says Brock will camp out, but Brock is upset that Reba made the promise. Brock is concerned about staying with Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) and his new baby. Reba is certain Barbra Jean can cope by herself, and so Brock agrees to join Jake that night. Later Reba answers the door to find Barbra Jean with her crying baby. Barbra Jean asks Reba to hold the baby. At first Reba hesitates because Brock conceived the child while he was still married to Reba. Reba goes into the kitchen where she encounters Jake, who is having a great time with Brock. Reba returns to the living room and takes the baby and soothes her to sleep. Barbra Jean falls asleep too. An hour later, Cheyenne and Van return from a walk they hoped would induce labor. Cheyenne asks to hold the baby, but when she does, she is frightened. She and Van panic that they will soon have a baby of their own. Reba reassures her that maternal instincts will kick in. Brock comes in and sees Reba with the baby. He asks why Reba did not tell him that Barbra Jean and the baby had come over. Brock says he needs to take Barbra Jean and the baby home. Jake hears this and runs outside. Brock says that he is sorry, but a new baby changes things. He has not yet figured out how he will spend time with each child, but he will. Brock leaves and Jake asks Reba to stay in the treehouse with him. Reba realizes Van has been feeling left out, so he goes to the treehouse with Jake.

Mrs. Hodge pretends she is being considerate, but Reba (Reba McEntire) realizes this is an effort to keep a pregnant student out of the ceremony. Reba stands up for Cheyenne, and she gives the diploma back. Later Cheyenne informs Brock (Christopher Rich), Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) and Reba that she does not want them in the delivery room because Cheyenne realizes she and Van (Steve Howey) must do this alone. Reba thinks back to significant moments in Cheyenne's life as she struggles to accept her daughter is growing up. The next day Reba is videotaping Cheyenne as she prepares for graduation. Kyra (Scarlett Pomers) notices Cheyenne lean over the sofa in pain, and she asks if Cheyenne is in labor. Cheyenne is having contractions, but she begs Kyra not to tell anyone. Cheyenne is determined to walk at graduation. Brock and family arrive. Cheyenne, with help from Kyra, hides her contractions during the family photos. At the graduation, Reba thinks back to her labor with Cheyenne, and she remembers leaning over the sofa just like Cheyenne did that morning. Just as Reba realizes Cheyenne is in labor, Mrs. Hodge calls Cheyenne's name to come collect her diploma. She cannot walk because the contractions are very intense, so Van carries her across the stage to retrieve her diploma. He announces to the crowd that they are having a baby. That night at the hospital, Reba lingers outside the delivery room with Brock.They struggle with their daughter becoming an adult and needing them less and less. In the final stages of labor, Cheyenne calls for her mother. Delighted, Reba runs into the delivery room. Later, Cheyenne passes her daughter to Reba who sings to her new granddaughter.

Grace (Debra Messing) and Leo (Harry Connick, Jr.) have tickets to The Nutcracker. Will, Jack and Karen celebrate at the Palace, then Grace shows up to ask Will to the show: Leo got beeped. When Leo shows up, Will reluctantly gives back his ticket and returns to the Palace, where Karen and Jack allow him back only after he performs 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for them as a Rockette. Leo gets beeped again, and Karen and Jack agree to allow Will to leave only if he sings The Twelve Days of Christmas for them, as the Count from Sesame Street. At the theater, Leo shows up again, and Will blows up at Grace. She apologizes and the two of them take their seats. Moments later, Will joins Leo at the lobby bar. The show is awful. The two ditch Grace, who is surprised in her seat by their sad neighbor, Steve (Steve Paymer). Karen and Jack go "caroling" at the Palace in their bathrobes by calling room service and serenading the staff as they come by the room.

  Will (Eric McCormack) lets Jack (Sean Hayes) talk him into joining a gay soccer league and is surprised to find out that the guys on the team are actually serious about soccer. Jack is surprisingly good at it, but Will stinks and decides to quit. When Elliot (Michael Angarano) announces he's quitting his soccer team because he stinks, Jack turns to Will and tells him to set an example. Will says he'll stick it out, and goes to the game with every intention of sitting on the bench with his picnic basket, espresso and biscotti. But when a player is injured, Will is thrown into the game and accidentally scores the winning goal. Grace (Debra Messing) pushes Karen (Megan Mullally) to ask out a restaurant owner (Andy Garcia) she has a crush on. Karen is nervous; she hasn't dated since Stan and she broke up. Milo accepts her invitation and goes out with her, and Karen is smitten. When Milo then never calls, after telling Karen he would, Grace confronts him at his restaurant, then has to break it to Karen that Milo didn't really like her. They realize their roles are now reversed: Karen's the single girl and Grace is the married lady.

  When Niles (David Hyde Pierce) may be tapped for membership in the ultra-exclusive Empire Club, Roz (Peri Gilpin) enters Frasier's (Kelsey Grammer) name for the other open position. Frasier and Niles plan to work together to make each other look good. Both brothers attend the Empire Club dinner, with Daphne (Jane Leeves) in tow. Amidst the sophisticated company and pricey furniture, Frasier and Niles learn that there is only one opening, and begin an intense series of "put-downs" in front of the members as they each lobby for the spot. The next day, Frasier and Niles mend fences -- a reconciliation that turns bittersweet when Frasier discovers that he has beem accepted into the club and Niles hasn't. A guilt-stricken Frasier tries to get the president of the group to bid Niles instead, but the Cranes lose all hope of joining when Niles, in an attempt to save Frasier's membership, curses the president and the club, just as Frasier reveals that the bid was actually for Niles.

  Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) worries that loyal fan Kari (Renee Lippin) is actually an obsessed stalker after she repeatedly calls him, sends gifts to his home, and appears to be watching his every move. Alarmed by Kari's "devotion," Frasier decides to hire a bodyguard to accompany him to a local broadcasting awards banquet. Expecting a burly man to protect him, Frasier feels less than secure to find he's been assigned a beautiful young woman named Cindy (Alyson Reed). While Cindy steps into the hall to check Frasier's elevator, Kari calls Frasier, saying she will be wearing a red dress and is looking forward to meeting him at the awards. A panic-stricken Frasier scrutinizes every woman he sees, and mistakenly tackles a member of the nominating committee, thinking she's Kari. Determined to confront his stalker, Frasier goes into the parking garage and has a run-in with three muggers. Meanwhile, Martin (John Mahoney) finds himself face to face with Kari, only to discover she's a harmless, eighty-year-old widow who simply enjoys listening to Frasier's show.

  Renee and George are neighbors of the "Golden Girls." Renee is suffering from "empty nest" syndrome and is afraid to talk to her husband, George, about it. George is a very busy doctor and doesn't seem to be home much, which compounds Renee's feeling of loneliness.

The ladies finally talk Renee into confronting George about her feelings. The next morning at breakfast, Renee is ready. One interruption after another, however, prevents her from proceeding. First it's the ever-present phone. George is constantly on the phone with one patient or another. Another interruption is Chuck, Renee's brother. It seems Chuck is a multiple personality of three parts, one of which is handyman, "Mr. Fix-it." George finally has to leave for work and nothing is resolved.

A few days later, Renee's daughter, Jenny, comes home unexpectedly from college. Her boyfriend is seeing another girl and she'll die of embarrassment if she has to remain on campus and see the two of them together day after day. Renee and George convince her to go back to school and Renee goes with her to help her settle back in.

While Renee is in New York, George and another neighbor, Oliver, are commiserating about how lonely they are without Renee. It dawns on George this is what Renee had been trying to tell him. He goes to New York with a plan to move his office into the home so they can spend more time with each other.

  The ladies are quite surprised to hear Rose say she's going to be a mother again. In fact, Rose is surprised herself. Her Uncle has died and left Rose his "baby." The ladies agree to take care of this "baby" until it arrives. "Baby," it seems, is actually a very large pig. But with the pig comes a hundred-thousand dollar bonus to help take care of him until he dies. That, and the fact that Baby is already 29, convinces Blanche and Dorothy.

Meanwhile, Sophia has lost her glasses and can't see a thing. She thinks the pig is the cutest baby she's ever seen. Probably even more cute when the girls cut her in on the money.

Baby becomes suddenly very ill and Rose and Vet believe he is deathly homesick for the farm. The ladies send Baby home, only to find out that days later he dropped dead anyway, and they don't have a penny to show for it!

  Dorothy, thinking she's awakening from a bad dream where Stan and Gloria were in her bed doing the sheet fandango, discovers the "bad dream" is standing in front of her wearing her silk robe. Stan explains that "a hurricane's a-comin'" and they felt scared and vulnerable. To make matters worse, Sophia feels that Stan and Gloria, as a couple, are great news. Dr. Halperin and his date, Carol Weston, arrive. Stan beeped him earlier to have him help sort through the problem. (Basically, Stan has substituted the traffic-cone monkey for Gloria) Later that day, Dorothy and Gloria have made up and are boarding up the house preparing for Hurricane Gil, when Gloria reveals she never would have given Stan a second look if it hadn't been for Ma's insistence. Dorothy's devastated. Sophia, hurt by Dorothy's angry words, goes out into the storm alone. Later, when the police start evacuating the neighborhood, Dorothy discovers her mother's missing. The only thing her search turns up is Stan and Gloria...in her bed, once again.

Dorothy, Stan and Gloria go down to the television station to wait out the storm. Rose and Blanche are there single-handedly trying to put on the "Save the McKinnley Lighthouse" telethon. The only talent outside of Rose singing, 'I can't Believe I Grew A Hair There," is provided by Davey Cricket, (Played by Don Siegel) who chirped like a cricket in a pair of clingy tights, which still left everything to the imagination. During the telethon, they find out that the lighthouse has been destroyed by the storm. Dorothy and Stan talk and decide that their relationship works best when they're divorced. And because they share children and grandchildren, the two year plan won't work. Later, the police arrive with Sophia and Angelo. Sophia had gone to his apartment where they'd both been trapped by the storm. Sophia pulls Dorothy aside and apologizes for giving away her favorite stick toy to Gloria when they are children...That, and her ex-husband. Dorothy finds that the most important thing to her is having her entire family safe...and together.
