Season 1, Episode 6 - Season 1: Episode 6 (Ashley): Original air date: 1/18/2013. Nineteen-year-old Ashley had a promising singing career, performing professionally from the age of 8 until she was 14. When Ashley felt like singing had become a job, she stopped. She began using drugs to fill the vacuum. She is currently addicted to heroin and methamphetamine. Ashley's descent into addiction has also brought her into the world of a notorious street gang, where she has been mixing with criminals, been the victim of vicious beatings and has overdosed repeatedly on heroin. Her mother, Maureen, struggled to raise Ashley as a single mom but is now at her wits end. Josh enlists the help of special effects makeup artists to give Ashley a glimpse into her future if she continues to use meth and introduces her to a former addict in an effort to give her the wake up call she needs.
