When did you realize you had designer potential?

At a young age, I made dresses for my sister's Barbies out of anything I could get my hands on, like toilet paper, old socks and denim scraps.

Lee McQueen, Gareth Pugh, Riccardo Tisci, Marc Jacobs, Hussein Chalayan, Viktor and Rolf.

Current occupation?

Fashion designer.

Can you describe past jobs you've had?

Retail visual display/merchandising for Gap Inc.

What is a fashion must?

Jeans that fit well, an attractive handbag and sexy heels.

What is your design training?

The Art Institute of Portland, March 2011, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Apparel Design.

Have you won any awards related to design?

Winner of Studio SKB Designer Launch internship; National Finalist for The Humane Society's and The Art Institute's Cool vs. Cruel 2009 fashion design contest.

What are your strengths as a designer?

I am great with fit and proportion, mixing textures and colors, and creating exciting silhouettes.

What are your weaknesses as a designer?

I am a perfectionist, but I am realizing that the small stuff does not affect the big picture.

What's influenced your designs over the years?

Always, hyperbolic super egos like comic book super villains, rock stars and eccentric fashionistas. Right now, the idea of a revolution or the shifting of power.

What's your favorite material or fabric to work with?


What's the item you're most proud of designing?

I call it The Dress. It was inspired by Ziggy Stardust. It has an asymmetrical denim bodice, an exaggerated shoulder and a voluminous feathered skirt.

Do you prefer sketching or draping?

Sketch, then drape.

Do you prefer patterns or solids?


What are your favorite colors?

Reds, black, chartreuse, grays, indigo, silver, deep wines.

What's your biggest fear as a designer?

To have never shown at New York Fashion Week.

What fashion faux pas drives you crazy?

Ugg boots, humor tees, sweatsuits, and anything attached to the Kardashians.

What's the ugliest thing you've ever worn?

Ugg boots! LOL!

Who are your favorite style icons?

Lady Gaga.

If you designed for the first lady, what would you design for her?

Something that shows off her decolletage and amazing arms. It would have clean lines and mixed textures.

What celebrity would you like to design for?

Lady Gaga. I would design a dress that would be so overdesigned it would be offensive.

Who's your supermodel muse?

Andrej Pejic. I love that he is confusing straight men everywhere.

What do you look for in a model?

Height. I love a tall model.

Dead. I cannot imagine doing anything else.

I was always described as well-mannered and sweet.

I'm witty, creative, direct and loyal.

I'm the eldest of five children, so my family is pretty hectic, but we are very loving and supportive of each other.

In a relationship, no kids.

My cat's name is Patrick.

Do you have any nicknames?

Brycey-poo. I have no idea why.

What's your favorite hangout back home?

My apartment.

What are your hobbies besides designing?

I watch lots of movies and Internet-stalk Lady Gaga.

What are your favorite movies and TV shows?

TV: Absolutely Fabulous, Sex and the City, Will and Grace, True Blood, Mad Men. Movies: Party Girl, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sex and the City.

What are your favorite books and authors?

I'm Not Myself These Days by Josh Kilmer-Purcell, and anything by Augusten Burroughs.

How did you end up auditioning for Project Runway?

I have been told by everyone to try out, so I did. I got on the show my first try, which has been such an amazing compliment.

Why do you think you will win Project Runway?

I can win Project Runway because I can design anything.
