QNicknames? APanda, Aunty Pandy.
QWhen did you realize you had designer potential? AWhen I took my mom’s old pantyhose and drapes and made a killer biker chick look.
QFirst garment you ever made? ASee above. Either that or totally inappropriate outfits for my Barbies. (Tube tops and miniskirts are easy things to make, okay?)
QWhat's your design training/schooling, etc.? AI started sewing at age 8, private sewing lessons in junior high and high school, Bachelor of Science in Clothing Textiles and Design from the University of Nebraska. Working in fashion since then!

QWhat are your influences? AI love Ancient Egypt, West African beading, and South American textiles. I’m also obsessed with countercultures -- flappers, hippies, punks, hip-hop -- and I love trying to mash them up.

QFashion faux pas that drives you crazy? AI promise I spend very little mental energy judging other people’s clothing. Borrrrrrring.
QUgliest item of clothing/accessory you've worn? ANo fashion regrets. They have all been lessons in style.
QFavorite style icon? AGrace Jones, David Bowie.
QWhat would you design for the First Lady? AI wanna see Michelle rock some separates. Maybe a slouchy blazer and some straight-leg jeans. Though I hate the idea of covering those arms…

QFavorite supermodel muse? A"House of Style"-era Cindy Crawford.
QIf you had to name your label, you'd call it... AI already have my label named! VALENTINE VALENTINE, the name of my Danish ancestor who came to America. Originally was going to be the name of a band that my brother and I are going to start SOMEDAY.
