When did you realize you had designer potential?

Not sure what age, but young. Ask my kindergarten teacher.

First garment you ever made?

Hmm…I made a jacket out of a pair of 1930s farmer's (French) pants.

What's your design training/schooling, etc.?

Self-taught.

Have you won any awards for your designs/work related to design?

Never participated in any competitions.

Strengths as a designer?

Originality, quality of work.

Weaknesses as a designer?

Self-taught, slow process.

What are your influences?

Nature, architecture.

What's playing on your iPod when you're designing?

Totally eclectic.

Favorite material or fabric to work with?

Fine lambskin and high-quality silk or cotton jersey.

Item you're most proud of designing?

Probably my jackets or one of my ultra-pleated tunics.

Favorite designer(s)?

Hmm…tough one.

Sketch or drape?

Both!

Patterns or solids?

Solids, always!

Favorite colors?

Gunmetal gray, grayish greens, all shades of dark gray, reds, black of course.

Biggest fear as a designer?

Getting my work ripped off again…

Fashion must?

Determination, passion!

Fashion faux pas that drives you crazy?

Horizontal cuts.

Ugliest item of clothing/accessory you've worn?

Everything in middle school and high school (1980s).

What would you design for the First Lady?

Something trim and chic, classic with a twist.

Celebrity you wish you could design for?

Grace Jones. One of my jackets.

Veruschka.

My own name.

Filmmaking.

With friends on a rooftop in the sunset.

Watching good films, live music.

Too many films to mention, don't watch TV.

Healthy fast food, (Asian) gourmet "light."

Random, spontaneous.

If the team players are good, love them!

What do you look for in a model?

Tall, very trim, fine but strong features…a gorgeous girl who radiates personality, grace, strength, elegance…preferably dark hair, toned, well-defined lips, strong cheekbones, a "real" nose, eyes that reveal character! Preferably "European" or Asian-looking, or African...preferably NOT "typical" Irish/English/American type such as myself.

Do you think you can win "Project Runway"?
