Describe your family?
Very close-knit Southern family from New Orleans. They are loud and unapologetically honest, but I love them all the more!
1 tuxedo cat named Jinx and a turtle named Guadalupe.
Domo, I earned in college, because I was obsessed with Japanese art; Domino Brown Sugar a close friend gave me, because I'm sweet, of course. ;-)
When did you realize you had designer potential?
I was a total DIY punk in high school. When I started getting lots of compliments and requests, I realized, "Hmm there may be something there."
First garment you ever made?
I made a denim one-shoulder bell-sleeve top from a couple of pair of jeans I had. My mom almost killed me.
What's your design training/schooling, etc.?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design from Moore College of Art and Design in Philly.
Have you won any awards for your designs/work related to design?
I won critics' awards for my children's wear in college and I also won a Fashion Group International design competition for a hand-painted tie-dye satin gown I designed.
Strengths as a designer?
I am chock-full of innovation and creativity.
Weaknesses as a designer?
I have lots of ideas, which means I have a tendency to jump from concept to concept, but in fashion, when is multitasking ever a bad thing?
What are your influences?
Minimalism, the street culture in any city, music, modern art, graphic novels.
What's playing on your iPod when you're designing?
Sneakerpimps, Empire of the Sun, Santigold, Matt and Kim, Alt J.
Favorite material or fabric to work with?
Knits, clear PVC and fur.
Item you're most proud of designing?
A collection of quilted cycling jackets and coats I did for my senior thesis.

Patterns or solids?
Making patterns with solids.

Biggest fear as a designer?
The anxiety of waiting for the bobbin to run out of thread.

Fashion faux pas that drives you crazy?
Sheer leggings…I don't wanna see your undies!
Ugliest item of clothing/accessory you've worn?
Uggs, but dammit are they comfortable.
Favorite style icon?
I'd rock anything from Kate Lanphear's closet any day.
What would you design for the First Lady?
A sick black pencil skirt and a tee made from the softest cashmere with crazy seaming. With all the work she does, comfort is key.
Celebrity you wish you could design for?
I love Cassie Ventura. Her music and style I am all about. I would make her a quilted moto jacket made from a vibrant printed fabric. She looks stunning in jackets.
Favorite supermodel muse?
Cara Delevingne is the bee's knees.
If you had to name your label, you'd call it...?
I already design freelance under the name Halcyon, so it would def be that. It's my favorite species of bird.
If you weren't designing, you'd be...?
A scientist of some sort.

Why do you think you're easy to live with?
I know I'm not. I'm very organized and I get peeved really easily if someone moves my stuff! I like things neat and clean.

My best friend kept telling me to apply. I finally gave in and applied for the first time last year for Seasons 10 and 11. I was a finalist, but did not get cast. I applied again this year and, well, you know…

Challenge you wish they'd bring back?
The "designing for the future/deconstructed" challenge from Season 1.
Challenge you hope they don't?
I honestly would like to do them all!
Your take on team challenges:?
Why? Love to hate them…either way, bring it on…a good designer can work in any environment under any circumstances and still be a standout.
What do you look for in a model?
I love a model with an edgy kind of beautiful look to her.
Do you think you can win "Project Runway"?
