    Self-taught. Learned to sew from my mom. Taught myself pattern making, draping, etc. from books.

    Taking a theme through several pieces, sewing fast and seeing things from a construction point of view.

    Mixing architectural and organic elements. The landscapes of Charleston are pretty killer, too.

    What’s your favorite material or fabric to work with?
    Chiffon, charmeuse – anything with glow and body. Love texture. Crinkly silks, metallics, etc. – yum yum!

    Do you prefer sketching or draping?
    Bit of both. Generally, if I start with a sketch it gets changed extensively in the draping process.

    Patterns … or solids with details or embellishments. Not normally just plain lines in solids.
