33, New York, NY, #DesignerSentell
When did you realize you had designer potential?
I grew up in the South with a farm behind my house and no fashion. I had to learn how to make my own clothes since I was 10.
What is your design training?
I went back to school at 31 to study design/technical design and patternmaking.
Strengths as a designer?
My patternmaking skills and ability to use scrap fabrics.
Weaknesses as a designer?
I am not a big sketcher.
How did you end up auditioning for “Project Runway”?
I heard they were auditioning, and since I have seen every season I applied thinking I would be great for the show.
Challenge you wish they’d bring back?
I hated the season where it was all team challenges, so I hope they don’t bring that back!
Challenge you hope they don’t?
The one where they ran around a track.
What’s your take on team challenges?
I think team challenges are necessary part of design as it’s common sense that “two heads are better than one”!
Do you think you can win “Project Runway”?
I definitely think I could win! I have the ideas, talent and most of all, the drive, and I’m constantly creating something new.
