When did you realize you had designer potential?
I was 15 years old when a fashion designer came across my sketches and hired me to intern with him.
What is your design training?
I went to the Rhode Island School of Design and majored in apparel and textile design.
Strengths as a designer?
Weaknesses as a designer?
Hand sewing and finishes.
How did you end up auditioning for “Project Runway”?
Things were not going well at my current job. I decided that it was time for me to take my design career to the next level, so I sent in an application. I had applied nine years ago when I was still in college, but Tim Gunn said that I was too green and that I should come back again next year. Little did I know, it would take me 10 whole years to come back! And now, I am more ready than ever!
Challenge you wish they’d bring back?
The challenge where they made outfits to travel in and then flew to Paris!
Challenge you hope they don’t?
The dog outfit challenge.
What’s your take on team challenges?
I love them because it shows you who truly can collaborate, and in the real world it’s all about collaborating.
Do you think you can win “Project Runway”?
Absolutely. I think I have the skills, drive and passion to win.
