Austin Scarlett to Launch Wedding Line
He won the first ever challenge in "Project Runway" history, snagged the silver medal on "Project Runway All Stars" last month and now, Austin Scarlett is unveiling the launch of his new signature evening and wedding gown collection, AUSTIN SCARLETT, which will debut Fall 2012 at New York Bridal Fashion Week.
The collection will make its first appearance at the Neiman Marcus Flagship Store in Dallas this fall and beginning this October, the gowns will be available through specialty boutiques and select department stores nationwide. Ken Downing, Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus and "Project Runway All Stars" guest judge, describes the collection as: "Modern romanticism with a touch of sweet nostalgia, Austin Scarlett creates memorable brides with his signature feminine flourishes, love of glamour and a healthy dose of drama!"
Austin first gained recognition for his love of all things evening wear and couture on the original season of "Project Runway," later going on to join bridal-design house Amsale as Creative Director of its luxury gown collection, Kenneth Pool, where he designed over six seasons of gowns from Spring 2006 to Spring 2009. View pictures from Austin's portfolio here!
For those desiring a sneak preview of Austin’s confections, the designer is making an appearance with a selection of gowns at COUTURE: New York Bridal Fashion Week at the Barclay New York Intercontinental on Saturday, April 14 from 11am to 1pm and Sunday, April 15 from 11am to 2pm. Press inquiries can be sent to pr@austinscarlett.com.
Brides, brides-to-be, grooms, wedding planners... anyone: What do you think we'll see from Austin's bridal collection?

The show follows designers Austin Scarlett (Season 1) and Santino Rice (Season 2, All Star Challenge) as they travel to and immerse themselves in the culture of small towns across America to create new looks for special women in unique situations as they celebrate such life milestones as anniversaries, birthdays, balls, graduations and bachelorette parties. (In the only way Austin and Santino can ... fabulously!)
In the 14-episode series, Austin and Santino will face differences in opinion and demanding clients, including a rodeo trick-rider, a military officer and a female truck-driver!
