Anxiously awaiting Full Episode 6!!! Designer blogs, judges' blogs, Tim Gunn's workroom, and extended judging have all been posted for Ep 6...Tempting, but they're spoilers. Please post full episode before posting the spoilers. (P.S. Thanks for posting full episodes 1-4 on mylifetime.com...Please keep 'em coming!)
Christopher got robbed in this one. His design was so much more amazing, and beautiful. All the judges were awed by it. Irina's looked like a poodle coat. Tommy Hilfiger even said he didn't like seeing the tape on it, and he reeled off a series of other designers that her coat looked like. Why would the judges pick something that is a knock-off of other famous designs? Isn't this show supposed to be about originality? What really goes on when the judges are conferring? I feel like someone *ahem Heidi/Nina* often sways the final results. You go Christopher! You can tell he is one of the best designers on the show.
Jennifer(crass, arrogance, rude): That's why Valarie isn't a designer, right?
Valarie(upset and uncomfortable look): Yeah.
Jennifer(more crass, arrogance, rude and darn right ugly): Thank God.
This is the part I hate about fashion and the arts, people like Jennifer think it's okay to be rude, mean and ugly. There's no reason to be that way. You can still make your point without making people feel uncomfortable.
And the funny thing is I NEVER heard of her. My advise to Jennifer and many of the other judges, including Heidi(I don't know why she's a judge) take some lessons on effective communication from Tim Gunn.
The positive: Jennifer did confirm what always bothered me about this show. A model shouldn't be making judgements on a fashion designer clothes because they're not designer. SO WHY IS HEIDI KLUM A JUDGE? She should be the host and that's it. A lot of the time she doesn't know what she's talking about (as seen in episone 4 when she made a comment about Epperson's dress), and she can be as rude and crass as the other judges with her remarks about and she's NOT even a fahion designer. She starts the show off as your friend and then she slashes you at the end of the show with her rude and often times ridiculous comments. She smiles at you in the beginning and then she's got this stern look on her face at the end...very disturbing. It's like a friend you have to watch out for because they'll end up stabbing you in the back. I now watch the show each week for two reasons. 1. just to see what the designer will come up with. 2. to learn something from Tim Gunn (the only balanced, and professional person on the show)
I do my very best to tune the everything else out.
Finally a decision that I agree with. I'm glad the judges saw the beauty in Epperson's piece...with their lack of imagination I didn't think they would.
Some upgrades are needed at MyLifetime.com. First - HD. Videos need to be offered in different grades. I love watching PR multiple times but not in this quality. Second, why does it minimize every time the ad is presented? If I select full screen, it should stay that way until I change it. Nice to have? If you didn't have to watch a 25 second commercial for each designer interview. Don't have time so I don't watch as much as I normally would. I hope Lifetime takes care of us new viewers! :-)
