What have you been up to since your time on ''Project Runway''?
The few years since the show have been filled with amazing opportunities. I did a collection of limited-edition garments with my husband, artist Sage Vaughn. I also did a lot of traveling and speaking engagements as a direct result of the show. Then last year I decided to go back to work designing. I then made a big decision and went to makeup school. I am now doing makeup for TV and film, and I absolutely love it.
What garment from your season of ''Runway'' do fans compliment you on the most to this day?
My denim dress.
What do you think you are best remembered for from your season?
I think people remember me for pulling out a great look when it looked like I wouldn't. Also for being a nice person.
I don't do custom work. I make clothing that sells in stores.
What celebrities would you love to dress?
Not really interested in doing clothes for celebrities.
What are your strengths as a designer at this point in your career? Any weaknesses you're still working on?
Making clothes that people buy; being too far forward sometimes.
How has your design aesthetic changed since your time on the show, if at all?
What are your favorite pieces and staple items in your closet?
My husband bought me an Alexander McQueen that I love, love, love. My Marni cloggish boots and my Givenchy boots. Oops! And my high-waisted Gap jeans.
Which fashion rule do you think is begging to be broken?
I don't believe there are any rules; as long as it looks good, wear it. F*** the rules!
How do you choose what to pack for "All Stars"?
The way I always pack: try on outfits and see what vibe I am feeling.
After being on the show, what "Project Runway" challenges do you think are the best and worst of all time?
Hmmm. I think the worst was menswear. And, believe it or not, I wish I'd had the potato-sack dress challenge. I also liked taking an old trend and making it new again. My reinvention of the baggy sweater was fabulous.
Who is your favorite fellow "Project Runway" designer from any season, including yours, and why?
Kara and Kenley, because I love them!
What goes through your head when you see yourself on television?
I can't believe how expressive my face is. You can see everything I am thinking. And I wish I'd worn some makeup!
What makes you All-Star material?
I am a great designer who never runs out of ideas.
