What have you been up to since your time on "Project Runway"?
I have created my clothing company, entitled ''Mangled Courtesan,'' which consists of one-of-a-kind garments that are inspired by my dark and Gothic romantic aesthetic. My April Johnston for Project Runway fabric line can be found at Jo-Ann stores nationwide. I also showed my latest collection, MOTH, at Charleston Fashion Week in March 2010.
What garment from your season of ''Runway'' do fans compliment you on the most to this day?
Most everyone I meet loved my design and fabric I created for the print challenge.
What do you think you are best remembered for from your season?
Nearly everyone I meet seems to think that I was the most straightforward and down-to-earth contestant on my season.
There are a few Southern ladies in Savannah who really love my work, and I love designing for them.
What celebrities would you love to dress?
I am working on getting Florence Welch and Lady Gaga as clients very soon.
What are your strengths as a designer at this point in your career? Any weaknesses you're still working on?
My strengths are my point of view and my ability to collaborate with a client. I believe that everyone has room to grow and develop; I mean, come on, I'm 22 years old and I have come this far. I still have a lot of time to grow.
How has your design aesthetic changed since your time on the show, if at all?
My design aesthetic has not changed at all. I love experimenting but at the same time staying true to who I am.
What are your favorite pieces and staple items in your closet?
My favorite items in my closet are my obnoxious sequin dresses that my fiance hates, and my vintage fur coats.
Which fashion rule do you think is begging to be broken?
UGHH, the whole ''Don't wear white to a wedding'' and ''Don't wear white after Labor Day.'' That's just preposterous! I'm designing a gown that is all black for my wedding. Ahhh, I love breaking the rules.
How do you choose what to pack for ''All Stars''?
I am making sure I dress a little nicer this time. Last time I wore a V-neck T-shirt on a cruise boat for the resort wear challenge, and that was not good. Oh, and my hair will be gray and blue; that's always fun.
After being on the show, what ''Project Runway'' challenges do you think are the best and worst of all time?
I hate the speed challenges . you know, the ones where you have to design and make something in five hours? That.s just crazy. The best challenge would have to be the avant-garde challenge. It really gives me some room to have some fun and spark a little controversy.
Who is your favorite fellow "Project Runway" designer from any season, including yours, and why?
Well, I love Mila Hermanovski as a person and as a designer. She is very well-rounded and just a creative individual. I also love Peach Carr; she is one of my dearest friends.
What goes through your head when you see yourself on television?
When I see myself on TV, it.s just so surreal, but I must say I am quite entertaining.
What is the one thing fans would be surprised to find out about you?
I love taxidermy and Double Stuf Oreos.
What makes you All-Star material?
I am an All Star because I know what fashion stands for and I push those limits that most do not. I am only 22 years old and I have created a name for myself as a designer, and I intend to progress further and further as I evolve.
