After the Episode with Lex Medlin: Season 4, Episode 9

After the Episode with Lex Medlin: Season 4, Episode 9

Owen is back! And what better way to celebrate his return than having Lex Medlin answer your questions for this week's After the Episode!? Read his answers below:

Clara is curious: "Is your story line any way related to true life?"
Have I ever had a heart attack and heart surgery? Thankfully no. Have I ever fallen head over heals in love with someone? Thankfully yes.

Kelly from Facebook asks, "Is Owen really alive?"
Yea, I've seen all the different theories out there. I don't know how much I can say, but Owen is alive and there is much more to come.

"If Owen was so adament about calling things off, why did he change his mind so quickly?" Jamie asks. "And he seems to be flip floping on this marraige issue. Is he sure this time or are we going to see more cold feet?"
Always remember that all of Owen's actions so far come from being utterly in love with Jane (at least that's how I've been playing it so far). I think sometimes when people are crazy in love they do stupid things. I know I have in my real life. I think Owen really didn't want to hurt Jane, I mean he's not sure how long his life is going to be. Thankfully Jane stepped up in the end, which is so very Jane, and they have a shot at being together. I can't imagine Owen will get cold feet.

Amanda wants to know if you "want Owen and Jane to be together and get married? Or do you want her with Grayson?"
I love this question. The truth? I'm totally conflicted. Team Owen because I'm an actor and like being employed. Team Grayson because they are soulmates and that rings true to my heart. Team Owen because he completely adores and respects everything about Jane from the bottom of his heart. Team Grayson because he is soooo dreamy to look at (even in real life!). In the end, Jane is the heart and soul of the show and there is so much about the character that I personally find endearing. So ... #TeamJane

Nicole thinks you look handsome in the judges robe. She wants to know what was the most fun scene you've shot so far? And was it surprising that there are actually people enjoying the Jane/Owen relationship despite it being in the way of Jane/Grayson?
1) The basketball scenes were hard but fun. Jackson and I early in that day of shooting agreed to just go for it. We beat each other up pretty good. He was awesome.
2) I am completely shocked at the amount of support Jane/Owen has gotten. Jane/Grayson have a long history and many consider soulmates. I didn't think anything could sway people away from that. But hey, life isn't always black and white. Sometimes it's a messy gray.
3) JUDGES ROBES ROCK! I recommend everybody get one. They are silky/sexy and empowering at the same time. They get very hot though so I don't recommend wearing pants when you have one on. If we're ever in the courtroom and you don't see my feet during the scene? Assume I'm not wearing pants.

Tune in to "Drop Dead Diva" Sunday nights at 9/8c on Lifetime, and visit the Official "Drop Dead Diva" Facebook Twitter pages Mondays after the show to ask questions about "Diva"!

Diva Dish Week #4: The Cast Talks About Kim Kardashian!

Posted By kim_messina 3:51pm GMT

Kim Kardashian on Drop Dead DivaEveryone is buzzing about reality queen Kim Kardashian's guest appearance on the first three episodes of "Drop Dead Diva" Season 4. (I saw the first episode and guysssss, she's legit funny on it!) But no one is talking about it more than the stars of the show! In this week's Diva Dish, Josh Berman and April Bowlby lay it on the line and tells us about what is was like working with Kim K... and their answer may actually surprise you!

April Bowlby: "I had a great experience with Kim. You kind of already have in your mind what it might be, but it was anything but. Like, she came, she was really serious, she had her acting coach, she wanted to do a good job, she showed up on time, she knew her lines. She’s beautiful. Like, I couldn’t stop looking at her face and I would always, like, watch her makeup artist and then be like, 'What is he doing to her. Why does she look so glowy?' She was really great and I think she had a really good time. She’s a lovely businesswoman and it was a real pleasure to work with her."

Josh Berman: "[She was] professional, appreciative and surprising."

Seeee??!! If it's coming from April and Josh, you know it's true!

But I couldn't just leave you with those two quotes for the week. So in the spirit of all things that are divalicious (plus the fact that I'm feeling extra generous this week), I give to you a bonus Diva Dish quote straight from the main Diva herself, Brooke Elliott. Brooke spilled on what lies ahead for her and Greyson.

Brooke says: "That’s so confusing for Jane. Her love life is going to be such a rollercoaster this season. I’m actually really excited to hear what the fans think about it. You know, she’s with Owen. We left her at the finally of Season Three going off to Italy with Owen and that relationship does blossom and move forward. And, you know, and yet there’s Grayson and he kind of keeps popping in every once in a while. Grayson’s feelings actually start to change a little bit. He starts to entice Jane and while Jane doesn’t really see that at first, she obviously always notices Grayson. But, so, again, she's torn. She’s always torn because she really does love Owen, but Grayson’s kind of always in the back of her heart."

You better be pumped for Sunday's big premiere where all will be revealed! I know I am!

After you watch the Season 4 premiere on Sunday, come back here and comment with your burning questions for Josh! He'll answer them for next week's Diva Dish!

After the Episode With Josh: Season 3, Episode 10

Posted By LifetimeLisaR 3:49pm GMT

Drop Dead Diva Season 3 Photos

With three episodes left, it's down to the wire for us in "Diva"-land, but that doesn't mean that things aren't slowing down anytime soon! In this week's After the Episode With Josh, executive producer and show creator Josh Berman talks about Parker's development this season, reveals all of the new judge's secrets and gets us super excited for the finale.

We get SO much international love for Diva — what do you think it is about the show that translates across the world?
The themes in "Drop Dead Diva" are universal. We have all felt like outsiders at different points in our lives. The show is nothing if not human. Stick with me here: shows like “CSI” and “Bones” (I’ve had the privilege to work on both) do great internationally as well, and that is, in part, due to the fact that behind the murder and the yellow tape, those circumstances evoke something very human: fear, anxiety, relief, terror... “Diva” does the same thing, though we spend more time on the other end of the spectrum; Love, joy, success, and yes, even fear and anxiety and a little bit of terror — you know, to keep you on your toes.

There was (of course!) a huge reaction to the Episode 10 twist with Stacy and Fred. Allyson begs: “Don't let Stacy turn out to be a bad guy, pleasseeee. I can't believe she made Fred cry.” Is Stacy a bad guy? Will fans know the answer to this question by the end of Season 3?
Yes, you’ll have all of your answers by the end of Season 3! Hmmm... That seems like such a cop-out but I don’t want to give away any more than that!

@realityqueen09 Tweets: “Who would you like to have on the show that hasn’t been on yet?”
I’d love to reunite with Marg Helgenberger from "CSI"! She's a wonderful actress and friend. I'm also crossing my fingers for Cher and/or Bette Midler.

Lisa comments: “I loved last night’s episode. And I like that Parker seems more and more complex.” We never talk about Parker’s growth — where have you wanted to take his character in Season 3?
You’re right there with us! Parker has a huge arc coming up that will really inform you on who he is as a person, not just Jane’s boss. I can’t wait to hear what you think about what’s ahead. There's a big Parker bombshell coming up that could change the future of the law firm.

Marcos asks: “Will Teri end up in a serious relationship with that guy (Hank)? She can do better ... cough cough... me! Jk! Great show!”
Marcos, you’re cracking me up with that! First of all, how dare you!? Hank is played by my brother, David Berman, and Teri would be lucky to have him!!! (Totally joking with you) I’ll put in a good word on your behalf.

We’re already looking toward the finale, and fans like Rachel and Marsha are begging for some juicy scoop. They're two of many that want to know if this season there will be another cliffhanger… and if that cliffhanger will be some form of Jane almost telling Grayson and something bad happening?
I'm just going to say one thing — this season's cliffhanger is by far the best yet. The last ten minutes of our finale (to air Sunday, September 25 at 9pm/8c!) should leave you breathless.

This is the first time since Tony that the fans have responded overwhelmingly positive about one of Jane’s suitors. Why do you think they like the Judge?
Because of the genius of Lex Medlin, the actor who plays Owen. He was nothing more than another love interest for Jane when that script got dropped on my desk. Lex came in to read for the role and it was his from his first read. We are lucky to have him! He's sexy, smart, funny, and has great chemistry with Jane.

Okay, one dissenter: Marion says the Judge gives off vibes of a “womanizer and a manipulator”… what do you say about that?
Confidence like Owen’s is a lot to take, especially when it catches you (or Jane) off guard. I think you should watch closely and see if you feel differently after this week's episode — airing Sunday night at 9pm/8c on Lifetime!

The other week a viewer asked if there will be another supernatural character and this week, Therese asks, “What's with the judge having some kind of 'sixth sense'... hmmmm could HE be an angel too?” ?!?!
He’s all man, I promise!

Celia asks if you will (or would like to) be adding any new characters on a regular basis for the next season… perhaps the Judge? Or Brandy’s new character?
We are open to bringing on new characters. Maybe Judge Owen. Maybe Brandy's character?

Chandra on Twitter wonders if Brandy is on the show for good or just next week’s episode?
She is on for the rest of Season 3. If we get a Season 4, the first thing I will do is call her up and ask her to come back!
