Now that Season 4 has officially premiered, I'll be premiering exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of the cast and crew hanging out in what I like to refer to as Divaland! Today's photo is of none other than Jane herself (aka Brooke Elliott) getting her last look makeup touches done.
To see more photos, keep checking back this blog and "Drop Dead Diva's" official Facebook page. "Drop Dead Diva" airs Sundays at 9/8c!
What did you think about the season premiere of "Drop Dead Diva"?
Photo: Josh Parker
Ask and you shall receive! Fans on the official "DDD" Facebook page definitely had a lot to say about our first official look at the first episode of Season 4. The photo features April Bowlby and guest star Kim Kardashian at the juice bar, Main Squeeze. (Above, duh.)
I couldn't get over your LOL-worthy comments. So, in no particular order, I give you the best captions:
Best Movie Reference goes to... Narmaly: "I love those earrings... where'd you get them from?"
Best Reality Show Reference goes to... Kathryn: "Stacy is saying, 'Are you lost? The 'Jersey Shore' set is thataway...'"
Best Kim Kardashian joke goes to... Tina: "Really these chairs are too much they squeeze my butt! The chairs have got to go. Oh, and the color doesn't go well with my outfit. I guess that's why they calll this place Main Squeeze."
Best Diva Plug goes to... Karen: "Stacey: 'Fred?? Is that you?? What, what??' Kim: 'I have some explaining, I know. You have to understand Stacy, being a guy was just too hard so I thought I'd try this angle.'"
Best Random Observation goes to... Dana: "I think they're discussing why the font of the store name is Disney font."
And please keep them coming. Your comments are the only things holding me over to the "Drop Dead Diva" Season 4 premiere on June 3 at 9/8c. Another First Look photo will be revealed on the official "Drop Dead Diva" Facebook page on May 25, so keep checking back!
What do you think Kim Kardashian's character, Nikki, and Stacy are talking about in this photo?
On last week's Diva Dish, creator and executive producer Josh Berman spilled on Grayson and Jane's relationship, Fred's big secret and more. In this week's edition, Josh gives the scoop about casting "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller on an episode and wets loyal Divas' palettes with more deets about what lies ahead for Fred and Stacy. (Oh Josh, you're such a tease!)
Facebooker Liz asks Josh: "Why did you want to work with Abby Lee Miller?"
Josh says: "The writers on 'Diva' wanted to write an episode that explores the relationship between moms and daughters. And right now, 'Dance Moms' has a unique point of view and people seem to either love or hate the show. But regardless, people are watching. And we thought how interesting it would be to shine a spotlight on Dance Mom behavior through the lense of 'Drop Dead Diva.'"
Speaking of Abby, Facebook Diva Abbey asks: "Does Stacy know that Fred is an angel?"
Josh dishes: "Stacy does not know that Fred is an angel. For three seasons, Stacy has not known the truth about Fred, but all that might be changing in the season premiere."
What else are you dying to know about Season 4?
It's that time again! As we continue to countdown to the epic Season 4 premiere of "Drop Dead Diva" (And I mean E-P-I-C... I may or may not have not seen the first episode...), Twitter and Facebook have been blowing up with Qs about the new season. So, in all that is wonderful and fabulous, I went straight to creator and executive producer Josh Berman to get all the "Diva" dirt. I will be rolling out his juicy answers for the next 20 days until the Season 4 premiere on June 3. (You should read that as: keep checking this blog 24/7!)
First up, Facebook friend Jessie asks Josh: "Does Grayson find out that Jane is his lost love!?"
Josh dishes: "Grayson is absolutely on to the fact now that Jane could now be Deb. And how that plays out in the first four episodes of Season 4 is pretty exciting and completely unexpected." (Editor's note: SO exciting!)
Facebooker Leighann asks: "Does Fred leave? At the end of Season 3, he's at the airport, but it never shows if he leaves."
Josh says: "Fred leaves, but doesn’t get too far, and one of our biggest Fred twists yet in our season opener, so if you’re a Fred fan, June 3 is not to be missed. If there is ever an episode to not DVR but to watch live, it’s our June 3 season opener. We have a lot of big secrets being divulged. Grayson is learning the truth about Jane, there’s a huge complication in the Fred/Stacy relationship and you want to see that with everyone else."
Amanda on Facebook asks Josh: "Is there any chance that Tony might come back in Season 4?"
Josh exclusively dishes: "Anything is possible. Jane has lots of loves, as does Deb, and we like bringing back those old flames. I will say that there’s lots of twists and turns in Jane’s love life in Season 4, but I don’t want to answer specifically if Tony is coming back."
What else are you dying to know about Season 4?
Let me tell you, fellow Divas life in "Drop Dead Diva"-land is never boring. And sometimes, like when you get to hang out with "So You Think You Can Dance" choreographer Tyce Diorio while he works with the Thunder From Down Under on a show-stoppin' Season 3 Finale dance number, it's a real dream! (A very real, hunky, six-to-eight-pack-extravaganza of a dream.)
That is exactly what I got to do back in July, when I visited the set of "Drop Dead Diva" during the Season 3 Finale filming. The Thunder was in town from Las Vegas and Chicago to play the men of Jane's dreams yet again in a suspender-clad performance for the episode that will air this Sunday night 9 pm/8c on Lifetime.
As if we needed any more excuses to tune in this Sunday watch my exclusive video of Tyce Diorio introducing some of the dancers during rehearsal for the finale:
Now, check out a clip from Broadway World of Jane's song and dance with the Thunder From Down Under!
The Season 3 Finale promises to be the best yet what are you most excited to see? Diva Dish below!
For today's Diva Dish, we're cozying up to actor Josh Stamberg as he prepares to film a scene as a very perplexed-looking Parker!
What do you think is going to happen in the scene when the cameras start rolling? "Drop Dead Diva" fans on Facebook have been giving us their thoughts join them here!
Mark your calendars: "Drop Dead Diva" marathon this Sunday July 3 on Lifetime starting at 10 am/9c! Watch episodes from Season 2 all day leading up to encores of Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2 at 9 pm/8c.
The "Drop Dead Diva" fans are always asking me how I can get them on the set of their favorite show. Well, people, how about I bring you behind the scenes and straight to craft services aka the coolest (and most delicious) place to hang out on any television and film set?! Here, one of the crew members sets a delicious spread for everyone working on the show. We'll take a Lara Bar... an orange... okay, okay, and a donut I at least have to pretend like I'm watching my carbs!
And because I love yall so much, I'll let you in on a fun Season 3 scoop-filled fact: for the episode of "Diva" that this pic was taken during, I've got photos of a scene that features another food spread... but it's a little fancier than this one and more of a party. Want to know what the heck I'm talking about? Guess you'll have to tune in to Season 3, Sundays starting June 19 at 9/8c on Lifetime!
Now it's your turn to Diva Dish: If you could have a job on the crew of "Drop Dead Diva," what would you do? And remember, if you have questions for "Drop Dead Diva" creator and executive producer, Josh Berman leave them in the comments below!
Maybe because it’s “Friday, Friday, Friday” or because I’m feeling extra girly in honor of the wedding-and-sundress-and-barbecue-filled long weekend ahead of us, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek at how the stars of “Drop Dead Diva” get all glammed-up in today’s Diva Dish!
Behold: actress April Bowlby gets a last-minute touch-up of her makeup on the set of Season 3. Looks like she’s ready for her close-up (although this naturally lovely lady would probably be anyway)!
I’ll let you all in on a little secret; the last few days I’ve been watching a lot (read: more than usual…) of the show in preparation for a special surprise for our biggest “Drop Dead Diva” fans out there, and I have rediscovered how amazing Stacy is! I know how could I forget in the first place? But, seeing her grow from a sweetly-shallow ingénue to the confident, take-charge woman at the end of Season 2 really inspired me. We could all learn a thing or two from Stacy and I know we could all use a friend like her! I wonder which of my friends would believe me if I died in a horrific citrus accident and came back to life in someone else’s body…
Now it's your turn to Diva Dish: What is your favorite Stacy moment from Seasons 1 and 2? And remember, if you have questions for "Drop Dead Diva" creator and executive producer, Josh Berman leave them in the comments below!
From Jane's future love interests to what it's like working with the cast and crew, we've gotten some serious Season 3 scoop from "Drop Dead Diva" executive producer and creator Josh Berman (pictured at left with star Brooke Elliot!) these last few weeks. Now that we're less than a month away from the big Season 3 premiere (June 19 on Lifetime, duh!), we're going to be serving up even more piping hot Diva Dish for you. So keep your eyes peeled for photos, videos and more — and don't forget to leave your questions for Josh in the comments below!
Twitter and Facebook has been blowing up with questions about all of the "Drop Dead Diva" couples. One of our social media BFFs Cynthia asks Josh some toughies: "Will Fred and Stacy finally be together? Will Jane and Grayson be together or is Grayson still going to marry Vanessa? Does Jane finally tell Grayson she is Deb?"
Josh Dishes: "These are big questions. I can't answer them all here but I can tell you that most of them will be answered in Season 3. The first four episodes build to an amazing climax. Big secret: In Episode 4, one of our characters will go away forever and another's life will be dramatically changed."
Well, as much as I am D.Y.I.N.G. to know more (and more and more and more and more) of the deep, dark details, I'm sure it will be worth the wait! One of our fabulous Tweeters, gomobile79 asks Josh: "Are any of the writers really attorneys? I’m so impressed by how this show uses real law and not just policy issues!"
Josh Dishes: "Thank you! Yes, I am a former attorney and so are three of our other writers and writers' assistants. Expect more in-depth legal stories in Season 3. In fact, one of our new writers was a former NY Prosecutor who wrote on "Law & Order" for 18 years."
Your turn to dish: What questions do you have for Josh? Write them below and he just might answer them in our next Diva Dish! Plus, stay tuned here on the Diva Blog for more behind-the-scenes news from the show.
Don't freak out or anything, our fabulous and faithful "Drop Dead Diva" fans, but have WE got some seriously good behind-the-scenes photos for YOU. As we get closer to the "Drop Dead Diva" Season 3 premiere Sunday, June 19 on Lifetime, we've got sneak peek pics and behind-the-scenes looks at the cast and crew working on the show in our Diva Dish series. It's the next best thing to sneaking on to the set and hiding in Josh Stamberg's dressing room/napping on a pile of his recently-pressed suits. Not that we would know...
Today's Diva Dish comes in Grayson flavor! Check out the above photo of actor Jackson Hurst going over a scene for Season 3. We love seeing him back in the courtroom again looking like the dreamy justice-seeker we fell for in Season 1. Who doesn't love a heart of gold and a strong jaw?
Now it's your turn to Diva Dish: What was your favorite court case of seasons' past? What would you like to see in Season 3? If you have questions for "Drop Dead Diva" creator and executive producer, Josh Berman leave them in the comments below!
