Diva Dish Week #4: The Cast Talks About Kim Kardashian!
Everyone is buzzing about reality queen Kim Kardashian's guest appearance on the first three episodes of "Drop Dead Diva" Season 4. (I saw the first episode and guysssss, she's legit funny on it!) But no one is talking about it more than the stars of the show! In this week's Diva Dish, Josh Berman and April Bowlby lay it on the line and tells us about what is was like working with Kim K... and their answer may actually surprise you!
April Bowlby: "I had a great experience with Kim. You kind of already have in your mind what it might be, but it was anything but. Like, she came, she was really serious, she had her acting coach, she wanted to do a good job, she showed up on time, she knew her lines. She’s beautiful. Like, I couldn’t stop looking at her face and I would always, like, watch her makeup artist and then be like, 'What is he doing to her. Why does she look so glowy?' She was really great and I think she had a really good time. She’s a lovely businesswoman and it was a real pleasure to work with her."
Josh Berman: "[She was] professional, appreciative and surprising."
Seeee??!! If it's coming from April and Josh, you know it's true!
But I couldn't just leave you with those two quotes for the week. So in the spirit of all things that are divalicious (plus the fact that I'm feeling extra generous this week), I give to you a bonus Diva Dish quote straight from the main Diva herself, Brooke Elliott. Brooke spilled on what lies ahead for her and Greyson.
Brooke says: "That’s so confusing for Jane. Her love life is going to be such a rollercoaster this season. I’m actually really excited to hear what the fans think about it. You know, she’s with Owen. We left her at the finally of Season Three going off to Italy with Owen and that relationship does blossom and move forward. And, you know, and yet there’s Grayson and he kind of keeps popping in every once in a while. Grayson’s feelings actually start to change a little bit. He starts to entice Jane and while Jane doesn’t really see that at first, she obviously always notices Grayson. But, so, again, she's torn. She’s always torn because she really does love Owen, but Grayson’s kind of always in the back of her heart."
You better be pumped for Sunday's big premiere where all will be revealed! I know I am!
After you watch the Season 4 premiere on Sunday, come back here and comment with your burning questions for Josh! He'll answer them for next week's Diva Dish!

Spotted: Serena Williams on Set!
Serena Williams may be a star on the tennis court, but this summer she's going to rock another kind of court... the court room, that is! Serena just filmed her guest role for an upcoming Season 4 episode of "Drop Dead Diva." Serena will be playing Elisa Shayne's lawyer (which means another guest appearance by Brandy!), as Elisa goes to court with Parker over custody of their son. "On set of @dropdeaddiva with @4everBrandy I can't wait to start shooting our scenes! Should be fun OMG so excited!!!" Serena tweeted.
And we have a hint as to who Serena's character will be facing off with in court. "Look who I'm going up against on @DropDeadDiva today, @serenawilliams. Crazy right?!! Glad its law court and not tennis court!" "DDD" star Kate Levering tweeted from set with the photo above.

After the Episode With Josh: Season 3, Episode 4

Welcome back to After the Episode With Josh! This time around, executive producer and show creator Josh Berman gives us the skinny on Jane and Grayson in bed together, dirt about the return of Vanessa and Ben Feldman's phone number. Just kidding about that last one, but this show scoop should make up for having to live another day without Fred's digits.
Johnny asks: “Does Kate Levering have formal dance training? In the dream sequences, she dances very well.”
Kate has an extensive background on Broadway, so yes formal training and she’s logged quite a few hours on stage! If you like her dancing, you should check out her dance sequence with Thunder From Down Under, only available as an extra on the Season 2 DVD.
@JaneValentine Tweets (and FB fan Lydia asks): “Will Jaime’s character Vanessa come back after the un-wedding?!”
Vanessa is played by my good friend Jaime Ray Newman and we would be so lucky to have her back on the show. It’s always fun to bring back characters in a new role.
The fans have had a very adverse reaction to Vanessa. Did you expect or plan for her to be this hated character?
Vanessa is a lovely character, but she's not Jane. Anyone who competes with Jane for Grayson will be disliked. She's also a bit cold (on purpose) and I think viewers are reacting to that.
Deborah thinks Grayson getting stood up at the altar is sad, but wants to know whether you think if Vanessa had told him face-to-face, she would have really gone through with her decision to back out? She also asks, “Why did Vanessa wait that long to let Grayson know how she felt?”
I think there is really something behind following your gut... Vanessa and Grayson had a whirlwind romance that was victim to so many factors. I think that Vanessa wasn’t able to get a good perspective on it until she was there, dress and all, on her way to the altar. That said, I believe that if she had known earlier, she absolutely would have shared it with Grayson. When you are in love with someone, you hope and pray they feel the same way. Deep down, she knew that Grayson didn't.
Christian wants all the dirt: “Was [the final scene of Jane and Grayson in bed at the hotel] them ‘sleeping’ together like you hinted at earlier?” And @FloorReeyes Tweets: “What happened with Grayson & Jane after that night?”
There is so much to explore in the world of Jane/Deb and Grayson. I definitely wanted to tease our audience by saying that they slept together because I wanted to get you thinking about how many different avenues their love for one another could take. So yes, that was the scene I was hinting at. It seems so cliché to say this but... Tune in on Sunday night at 9 to see what happens next! I’d imagine after Grayson’s night of sadness and drinking, he probably woke up craving a strong cup of coffee... Just a hunch. And remember, Jane is still dating someone.
“Just out of curiosity does the feedback you receive from fans influence future episodes or is the storyline complete and final?” Jacqueline wants to know.
I love fan feedback. I'm not sure if it influences the storylines, but i read everything on-line especially the comments on our Facebook page.
Arlien wonders if Jane and Kim will forever be frenemies… or if there’s something more there: “Jane and Kim really do appreciate each others' skills. Are they ever going to develop their friendship?”
Jane and Kim’s scenes together are so fun because they are loaded with both hostility and a professional respect for one another. I always wonder what Kim and Old Jane's relationship must have been like. Kim probably still can't figure out why this woman suddenly grew a backbone. In the future, perhaps they could be friends. Do you think Deb and Kim could have been friends?
@TVFanatic592 Tweets for Teri asking: “Will Teri have another love interest this season?”
Teri really cracks me up. Margaret Cho is such a genius! She has brought a really interesting facet to the character which is to say that any man that walks into Harrison and Parker has the potential of winding up in the cross hairs of Teri’s eye! And yes, there will be more men in Teri's life!
While so many fans want to see Grayson and Jane get together, some others have suggested that them finally uniting would be the end of the show how do you see it?
That’s the 10 million dollar question and I’m going to bow my head to you, our loyal fans, and say “stay tuned.”

Kathy Griffin to Guest Star as Kim's Sister
We're gearing up for another day of exciting Season 3 guest star scoop on the "Drop Dead Diva" Blog! The upcoming season is promising to be the funniest yet, with the always hilarious Wendy Williams and Wanda Sykes joining the cast as judges for an episode each. What more could be up creator Josh Berman's sleeves, you ask? On the show, Kate Levering's character Kim is a (super smart, super hot, overall fabulous) force to be reckoned with so it only makes sense that the woman fit to play her sister on "Drop Dead Diva" is spitfire comedian Kathy Griffin!
Kathy Griffin is joining the cast of "Drop Dead Diva" for an episode in Season 3 as Kim's sis and someone who does not get along with Jane's assistant Teri, played by Margaret Cho. Comedians Kathy and Margaret go way back and Griffin joked that playing Cho's arch-nemesis for an episode was the "role I was born to play." Margaret Tweeted Wednesday morning: "So excited to have @iamwandasykes and @kathygriffin on ddd this season!" We couldn't agree more!
UPDATE, 05.17.11: Kathy Griffin Tweeted earlier today that she is filming for her role on "Drop Dead Diva"! Actors Jackson Hurst and Kate Levering have also been Tweeting about Kathy's time on set.
Tune in to the all-new episode featuring Kathy Griffin Sunday, August 14 at 9 pm/8c on Lifetime!
