Week 2: Diva Dish With Creator Josh Berman
Last week, we brought you the first ever Diva Dish post — with very special guest and "Drop Dead Diva" creator and executive producer Josh Berman! With Diva Dish here on the "Drop Dead Diva" Blog (and, as always "Diva" on Facebook and Twitter!) I'm happy to hand over all of the exciting news and updates on Season 3 leading up to the premiere of Season 3 airing June 19 on Lifetime! Today, Josh Berman will be answering more fan questions about the show. Submit yours in the comments below!
Our Facebook friend, Lindsey P. starts us off with a good one! Lindsey asks Josh: "How much fun is it working with your crew?! Brooke, Jackson, Ben, Kate, Margret, April?! They seem like a crazy fun bunch!" Editor's Note: OMG, right? Best coworkers ever or what?
Josh Dishes: "I've been writing television for 14 years and this is the greatest group of actors I've had the pleasure of writing for. They all love the show and get excited about each new script. They're all extremely close in real life and have great respect for each other. It's a joy to be around them and I miss them when we're not in production."
Aww, we all miss them when they're not on our TV screens so I can only imagine what it's like if you actually get to hang out with them! Another Facebook Diva brings us back to Season 1 for a sec... and makes our heart thump for our ultimate "Drop Dead Diva" crush. Heaven-Leigh Angel asks Josh: "Why did you decide to send Fred back after his first date with Stacy, and wipe everyone's memories?"
Josh Dishes: "That's a complicated question. The actor who plays Fred was not originally conceived to be a series regular. However, we loved him so much that we wanted to keep him. He had some other commitments and wasn't able to be with us for the full season. However, we now have him full time and he's not going anywhere anytime soon. In real-life, the actor who plays Fred, Ben Feldman, is one of the most talented comedians I've had the pleasure to work with. His enthusiasm is contagious."

Welcome to Diva Dish With Creator Josh Berman
Welcome to the premiere Diva Dish post with very special guest and "Drop Dead Diva" Creator and Executive Producer Josh Berman! He's pictured to the left surrounded by some of your favorite "Diva" cast members. With Diva Dish on the "Drop Dead Diva" Blog (and 24/7 on Diva" Facebook and Twitter!) we'll be providing you with news and updates on Season 3, including behind-the-scenes photos, videos and more. Each week leading up to the premiere of Season 3 airing June 19 on Lifetime, Josh Berman will be answering fan questions about the show. Submit yours in the comments below.
First up, let's look at a very popular question asked by one of our Facebook friends, Sadie! Sadie asks Josh: "Are you going to bring on a great male character for Jane to date? Perhaps Tony or someone new?"
Josh Dishes: "Ah! The dating question. Jane's dating life definitely has some ups and downs in Season 3. She's more comfortable with herself and her body, and I think men will be attracted to her new found confidence. Jane is a gorgeous woman and she certainly will attract some new men but often in unexpected places."
Ooo, we're intrigued! One of our fabulous Tweeters, Carole (aka eclipse70s) asks Josh: "What inspired you to create your great show?"
Josh Dishes: "This is a great question. It was my grandmother. Her name was Debra. She was short, overweight and elderly but she carried herself like a supermodel. She helped raise me and made me believe that I could do anything. I wanted to create a character like my grandmother someone who I loved, with great self-confidence, but who wasn't a traditional Hollywood beauty. With that in mind, I developed 'Drop Dead Diva' and named our supermodel Deb, in honor of my grandmother."
