Can't stop munching? You might be able to blame it on about 15 unbalanced brain chemicals, like serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which can lead to the appetite disorder of frequent overeating. Here, 10 foods that can even out those chemicals and make cravings a thing of the past!
Soy Milk
Why it works: “Soy milk is one of the most amazing foods to help stop the appetite cold,” says Anne Katherine, MA, psychotherapist, recovered overeater and author of “How to Make Almost Any Diet Work: Repair Your Disordered Appetite and Lose Weight.” And that’s because of its high protein and fiber content, both of which have been proven to satisfy cravings. As for fiber, a University of California Davis study showed that fiber promotes the release of the hormone cholecystokinin (CCK) from the small intestine, which then carries the “I’m full” message to the brain.
